I'm sure it's temporary and precautionary. I think after either a few months or one season without any problems will see the disappear! -
Opening Day at a Dorney Park Went with a friend today o Dorney Park for opening weekend. Weather was beautiful and the day was super fun! Hydra- train 2 back row - seemed to have a little bit of a rattle. Nothing major, not even minor, but definitely there. Other than that, Hydra seems to continue to be a solid ride. Love how wonky this thing looks and rides! Thunderhawk - back car, front row - I have a soft spot for truly old woodies. The turns are still a bit rough, but some new track wood was spotted in a few places. Steel Force - blue train - second row - it will never be as thrilling as other Hypers, but it is still a fun ride with some nice mid-low floater air throughout Stinger - middle car facing backwards - IT WAS OPEN!!! Let's start there shall we?!? I know Vekoma always gets a bad rap, and I have been on other rides that truly hurt everything on my body, but this ride was really not that bad! Definitely a once a day ride, but it was good!! Talon - Front row train 1 - running as great as always. So smooth and seriously so quiet. It's possible this is the quietest B&M ever. I know it has sand inside to dampen the roar, but is just insane HOW quiet it is! Possessed was down all day, with cherry pickers up against the back spike. They said they were trying to get it up and running, but then I spoke to a supervisor in the area and he said they hadn't even done the season starting testing... We did Dinosaurs since it was free with our platinum season passes. Nice break from the park, but the bird deterrent sounds killed the experience by giving us all headaches. We went back and rode Hydra front row train 1 and Steel Force back row blue train and called it a day. We stopped by Old School Sandwich Co. which is about 5 min west of the park HIGHLY recommend eating there. Very good VERY big sandwiches!

It makes total sense. I can't see why anyone would not want to stop at both parks... If its a long weekend kind of trip, one day at KD and one at BG is a WHOLE lot more fun or the whole family than a day at BG and a day at Colonial Williamsburg... Im not hating on CW... ok, yea I am... unless you a history buff (and what 12 year old is) its not fun unless you go with a large group and can have a fun time with it...

I dunno... if we want to go with the sneaky landscapes on the websites, CW looks spot on with what they have. KD has a purple hill and a red hill, neither of which exists as KD right now.... I would LOVE to see a new entrance at KD, but the question would be whether it would include a coaster with it... I don't really see them building anything on the west side of the entrance since it has all the back of house stuff there. the only thing that could happen would be if its a really fast launch ride with a station by Dominators interlocking loops...

Yesterday was my first time to KD and was my first time to a major theme park all by myself. I spent Saturday at Busch Gardens surprising my students on their Band Trip and had a blast, but with another long 7 hour drive ahead of me on Sunday I thought I would break it up a bit with a morning at KD. Since I have a Platinum Pass for my major trip later in the summer, it cost me nothing to go for the morning. I arrived around 9:45, there was a cheerleading competition in the park, so the gates were open and people were mulling around the front area as well as walking down to the Picnic area past Dominator. I walked over to the early entry and spent some time BSing with the security guards. Volcano - first ride of the day, fro not row. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this ride! It was quite smooth, and quite forceful. Intimidator - front row, alone in the entire train. What a great way to experience this ride for the first time! Second ride was with a gentlemen the who said we was from the CP area (didn't catch his name, wonder if he's in here with us!). Only someone like a TPR member would have a full blown convo on the lift hill about MF vs. I-305. Honestly, it's magical how great this ride is. The forces are perfect, the restraints are comfortable, and the transitions are unbelievable. It is definitely my favorite Steel coaster as of now, although El Toro still wins overall. All I could think on the hill after the "twisty" section was, "my god this thing is perfect!" At this point it was just about 10:30, and the park was starting to come to life. Anaconda was down, so I made my way over to the wooden coasters. Rebel Yell was first, fun, and OMFG what a view of Intimidator! Hurler - expected it to be a little rough from what I've heard. Maybe it's all the years of riding the Coney Island Cyclone and rolling thunder, but it really wasn't that terrible. Grizzly - let's start off with, "how the hell am I supposed to know I have to walk through a gift shop to get there?!?" I have to admit, this thing needs some love, the turn after the initial turn around did some damage on my vertebrates... Dominator - great ride, standard B&M flourless, had some nice g's throughout. I love how the trains still clearly look like they should be Batman Themed. After that it was about 11:30 and I hit the road (I did have 7 hours of driving still ahead of me). But what a great first experience at this park. I can not wait to go back this summer and spend some more time exploring the park and hitting the rest of the coasters.

How about we put one on the inside of a hubless Ferris wheel!!!!!! -
Just thinking about this more, is it possible that that is the point? That they are promoting the new roller coaster, but not making that big of a deal of it since it's really not that large of a ride that can handle that many people. In a sense, that's kind of genius... It's going to bring people to the park, but it's not going to overflow the parking lot, causing people to not enjoy themselves because the line is too long. We do have to remember that the last four roller coasters that went into this park where people eaters ...

Is Kroger selling discounted tickets this year? -
Im heading down to Busch Gardens next weekend to surprise my Band Students on their trip. Sunday Im planing on being by myself on the drive home, so clearly that means I must stop at Kings Dominion and get my Cedar Fair Platinum Pass processed, and get some rides in!! I have never been to the park before, are there single rider lines?

Trust me, it's going to be well advance than that. Like . . . WELL ADVANCE! Imagine MIB, Transformers, and Spiderman all in one. Put that in a Six Flags park and you got something better than slice bread. But with more technological details. Maybe for the first season... This is six flags, looks great the first year and then special effects just fall away as the ride gets older...
