8 Days, 90 Roller Coasters!
Brassinthegrass replied to Brassinthegrass's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have to ask again about Asheville, NC! Has anyone been to Altamont, Wedge, or Highland Brewing Companies? All three have live music Friday night on our trip. Hows the beer/food/scene? -

Don't read too much into it! My father is an FDNY chief, there are constantly threats on every landmark in New York City almost every day of the year. Although there's always a chance of a Lonewolf terrorist, an attack on a theme park in t don't read too much into it! My father is an FDNY chief, there are constantly threats on every landmark in New York City almost every day of the year. Although there's always a chance of a Lonewolf terrorist, the middle of the country is very small... Sometimes I read these things and think it's someone trying to keep the park quiet for their own enjoyment... -

Not only that, but this is Cedar Point! I'm sure we will see some major new designs with a dive machine! -

There will be a Waffle House stop... That is definite! Larry, Something along the lines of "local grub" I feel like we tend to find restaurants outside the park to be a nice break in the action, and 99% of the time, significantly less expensive... I feel like having a database of places that we have tried as TPR members, and know personally would be a nice addition to the Park Index! -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Brassinthegrass replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going to HW for the first time in a few weeks, I can not wait to finally experience this park. I'll make sure to confirm that the ride ops were indeed told they were "lame" I agree with the procedure to keep the line moving, I do think that if someone wants to wait for the front or back, they should have the right to do that, but on super busy days, I do find it to be helpful to keep the line moving... Catch 22 I guess... -

Sorry for the double post... We are looking for a brewery in Asheville, NC to hit up on Friday night while on our trip. It's our stop between a day at carowinds and a day at Dollywood. Does anyone know of a good brewery in Ashville, possibly live music? -

It's near the Enterprise? Didn't Huss just release the idea of the Huss Enterprise 2G? Could that be what's coming? -

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

Can someone help me out... I'm going to Kennywood for the first time in a few weeks (wee my 90 coasters in 8 days thread) and I'm sort of at a loss at how parking works here... It looks like Lot A is free parking "with a bit of a farther walk to the front gate" but I see a sky ride on Google Maps, is that for transportation to the park entrance? Thanks! -

I have to say, I'm still amazing by the level of injuries... I would have thought that the bumpers below the trains would cause the seating area to stay relatively clear... I wonder what changes we will see in trains moving forward, I'm sure we will see advancements for the extended safely... And I'm sure it will be on every companies mind. Hopefully we will see some new advancements at IAAPA. -

It's not really about them being able to afford it. It's about doing the right thing, and I am sure this company (which seems to ALWAYS does the right thing) will do the right thing by its guests. -

Josh, Our plan right now is to spend the morning/afternoon at Holiday world, then boogie over to Kings Park for night rides on at least Beast and Banshee (anything else will be gravy) than wake up the next morning, go for the early platinum entry time and finish up the rest of the park) than get to Cedar point to be able to spend the night before and the full day at the point. We have discussed FP but will be playing it by ear. -

Sounds great!!! Please post them here instead of PMing me so we can share with everyone! We really should add a page to the Park Index with "local goodies from TPR members" it really would help a lot of people planning their trips I think! -
Hello, In a few weeks Myself and 3 of my best friends will be partaking in a massive trip to hit 90 coasters in 8 days. This trip is 2 years in the making, with test trips through PA and New England over last summer to see what can and can not be done with our group. We are all very excited to go on this trip, and as I am the only one who is as obsessed with rollercoasters like everyone else on this website, I will be documenting it here on TPR! Before we take off, I wanted to share a semi-final itinerary with the TPR community and see if there were any restaurant suggestions on the way. All the hotel reservations were made back in January, and tickets have already been purchased through my companies discounts affiliates (Plum Benefits and Working Advantage) Before you beat me up, we went to Busch Gardens in April, hence the exclusion from this trip! Feel free to suggest anything, all comments are welcome and will be read with the group to discuss. Plan on a LOT of photos when we return, as well as a possible iMovie of the trip!

To be fair, Premier was only two years old when they built Batman and Robin, and the first shuttle coaster the company had made. It did come out the same year as Mr. Freeze, but the design was significantly different. I think since then they have learned QUITE a lot about the dynamics of their rides, and are much better at building them now. Six Flags as a company has spent millions since working with their company, and i am sure Premier would be happier than any other company to rebuild in the same spot as a former failure, just to cover the wound of their earlier mistakes...

I agree, I think it's the most needed spot in the park... Personally, I like the lake area being a lull, it always is a nice place to lie down for a little bit and just recoup. The west side of the park is YEARS behind the east side, and any addition would be a good one. I think a YOLO inspired ride spanning the B&R:TC area and the unused Fantasy Forest area is a perfect way to recitalist that side.
