I think the strange (cool!) noise comes from the yaw action of the nylon wheels twisting over the metal track. With steel wheels, you would get a high pitch squealing (or "screaming") coming from the track (especially when the track isn't greased well; as evidenced by many a woodie.) I would assume Goliath's noisy areas will get a little grease/graphite (or whatever-they-use-now), as to not tear up the wheels. But I could be wrong.

^^The especially EVIL Boomerang that took the spot of Zambezi Zinger! Uck! You gotta think... if HW did put in a Boomerang (which I know they aren't), we might not like it, but the locals would probably love it. People love boomerangs, especially kids. Bet it would be a lap bar train only... -

^Thanks for the picture! This sounds good to me. Maybe like Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens (but better!) and with more inversions. Oh... and no shoulder bars. Of course. Perfect for the whole family! -
That's one of the rare unique things about the ride; I like those long stretches as well. Our parks are getting saturated with very same-y rides (like B&Ms) so every old "boring" coaster (including Colossus with its huge flat curves) is fun just for the fact of being different. I'm looking forward to whatever RMC does, but enjoy the "tour around" coaster while you can. I love that ride.

^^I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you find the picture

hehehe yes! And best! Guess that depends on where you go. Great America has kept Whizzer (and it runs like new), Logger's Run, Yankee Clipper, etc. East River Crawler (formerly Lobster) re-opened last year after over a year in rehab (and just had it's 2nd "airtime" motor restored this year; it too is running like new!). I know the original SF parks ADORE their classic Schwarzkopfs (Mind Bender and Shock Wave). Magic Mountain is run a bit different, I know. Didn't the park president say Colossus was "off limits" in regards to removal a few years ago? I also remember something about the park wanting to RMC re-do the ride, but leave it's classic look alone. Even if the whole thing had topper track put on with new trains (and that double dip!), it could be a great ride. Then of course there is that POV that was posted then removed from youtube a few weeks ago showing "Iron Colossus." I didn't see it, but I know a few did! I think the park will eventually get to fixing Revolution as well. It could be a smart business move if done right.

102 passengers on board = 34 passengers per train X 3 trains. Hmmmmm.... -
That is a tall order... my point is that B&M can do really unique stuff. But they will do whatever the park wants. When I was riding Banshee, I looked over to Adventure Express; other than the seemingly truncated ending, it's a GREAT/unique ride. I'm disappointed that a chain as reputable, popular and big as Cedar Fair wouldn't want to build something especially world class and unique (think Beast, Helix, etc...) Yup! I think people will forget the delay once the ride opens. Does anyone remember when they tried to open V2 and Deja Vu in the same year? That turned out a mess. The park was sued for false advertisement; there were billboards all over the city touting "2 new coasters in one year!" Not the same case here, but thought I would mention it (neutrally) as some folks brought up the park potentially being sued. I don't remember the outcome of that case, but I couldn't imagine the park being liable (other than perhaps a few refunded season passes.)

It was just my personal opinion. To me, Banshee is a shell of a ride. It is 6 giant loops, a turn and another inversion built in a dirt field. Nothing particularly unique about it. I know, I know... a pre-lift section, some tunnels and trenches would have cost a lot more $$$, but they would have a GREAT ride then. Look at Nemesis, Nemesis Inferno, Oziris, etc. At the end of the day, they know people will rave about it b/c it's big and fast, so "they don't need to do all that other stuff" (as a friend explains to me). Don't get me wrong, it's a nice fun ride, but no where near world-class. (Again, all that is just my opinion; I know many people LOVE it.)

After a few more rides you'll know the layout and it will be a breeze Still a work out, but you will know where stuff is. I took a friend on her first Voyage ride in the dark at HWN 2011. She didn't know anything about the ride; she was immediately bit by the coaster bug and outrode me! -
From RMC facebook page: "Here is your amazing and VERY tired Golaith crew! They are working extremely long hours to finish this coaster. Thanks to you all for putting in so many long consecutive days and being away from your family and friends for the past 10 months. We appreciate your hard work more than words can say:-)" I'm thinking of the Chicagoland days the news told people to not even go outside if they didn't need to, because of the cold. Makes me that much more grateful for these guys. Nobody wants to finish a project late.

Love Ellen I'll sometimes have the TV on in the background, if it's Ellen time, I turn it on and everything seems better. She creates and runs with a positive vibe. (As opposed to Dr. Phil, which I do indulge in, but it tends to bring me down). -

^Yup! I wonder how Mack's prices compare to Intamin? Pointless? It would probably be more fun and interesting than most American B&Ms Especially since Holiday World keeps their trees
