  1. Did you get any roughness in the back? Just curious.
  2. That's right. And then it couldn't be considered "pure freefall".
  3. Well, I'm not saying I have anything against the lift being slowed down (I haven't even ridden it) but that is just not the way it goes. To me, the lift doesn't count as "ride time". It might have its advantages but that sounds a bit well..... cheating?
  4. Well those colours almost blew up my screen!
  5. ^Yeah. Really looking forward to seeing what it could be
  6. ^It would be funny to leave it like that. But with no plate at the end of the slide
  7. ^Yeah you're definitely right about the increased radius. I guess people used those words because it would have had a similar effect.
  8. That would be literally ejector
  9. ^Of course. I'm just not sure it was the actual Gs the turn produces but more the effect it had on the ride.
  10. Speaking of clones...
  11. ^Were they? I mean, if you have the speed of the train and the radius of the turn (which they obviously did) it's pretty easy to calculate the G forces. Probably they just weren't expecting the wheels to suffer so much wear. That's only a guess, though.
  12. I completely get what you mean. I've been on some coasters *cough* coaster express *cough* where the pain involved really was making my wish the ride would be over soon. On magnum, though, on those last hills while they were a bit painful I was laughing all the time and it really was fun. I' not a huge fan, but I do like it and I do understand the love it gets.
  13. ^Well flat turns are usually more intense, and that's what they wanted. Once they decided to reprofile it that would have been very tricky.
  14. Really?? Wow that must have been great! Oh, these vekoma guys...
  15. ^Awesome pictures! By the way, does anyone know why this batman is the only B&M invert with no wheel covers?
  16. why and when did they slow down the lift? I don't know exactly when but I guess they did it to reduce the speed of the ride (especially in the first drop) probably to decrease wear, maybe Ryan knows a bit more.
  17. ^I'm guessing the front is where those last airtime hills are more painful as while the back of a train usually gets more air on the way down a hill the front is the opposite so you hit the beginning of those hills at full speed. Right?
  18. Yeah that's right. It should be physically impossible to provide more than that (unless there is something pulling it down) Yeah that's an interesting phenomenon as it really does seem to defy them. I really need to try one!
  19. ^Really looking forward to X-Men (I'll probably watch it this weekend)
  20. ^The brake run is sort of half magnetic and half friction. I know the green ones are magnetic but I'm not sure about the ones before those.
  21. ^Thanks for posting. Anything on the intamin?
  22. I wonder how that is done, exactly. I mean, they obviously have a way to test them but some aspects are only evident under "ride circumstances" (twists and turns, G forces...). Maybe that's why skyrush's restraints have a problem under extreme airtime. Just a guess
