  1. Ah. We're in that point in the off-season now, are we?
  2. These are just amazing. I don't really have room to put any up, but I absolutely need the Horizons one.
  3. I have one booked for this summer, I'll make sure to do up a report and get pictures there, but I won't be there until the end of August, so it won't do anyone much good for planning anything this year! I have to say, they don't really look run down to me. A bit "rustic", maybe a little dated, but at least in the pictures they look decent enough. It /is/ Knoebels...I trust them!
  4. Pretty sad. Seems like the ride wasn't incredibly popular, but I always really loved it. The setting was just exactly my thing, and...look, I'm easy to please...give me werewolves, I'm gonna be happy). It wasn't as high budget as some of the other similar rides but it still had some great scenes; I always thought the "flying" part of the ride worked really well. I'm definitely going to miss it. On top of that, as great a part as BGW is, it really isn't amazing as far as sheer number of rides; besides the coasters the lineup really isn't that amazing, so losing one of the biggest non-coaster rides is a hit. The park's responding on facebook to people mentioning that by saying they're adding Battle for Eire, but that's replacing another (admittedly terrible) ride so it's not helping their count. ...Still, I AM looking forward to that one, since I still haven't stopped missing Corkscrew Hill.
  5. Ugh. I usually get a season pass so being restricted to that doesn't hurt me (personally, I mean, I can see why it's a disappointment for so many others), but having to carry a giant cup around and find somewhere to put it on every ride, that pretty well ruins the whole package. I get that they want to cut down on waste, but...
  6. First one I ever saw was the Corkscrew at Rocky Point Park, but the first one I actually got on was BGT's Python.
  7. As far as maps and such, you should be able to get them through http://www.visitorlando.com/vacation-planning-kit/
  8. That Chance Twister was in really rough shape a couple years ago when I stopped in at Lakemont, but it was a pretty fun little ride regardless. I'd love to see somewhere known for taking care of old rides refurbish it. If only there were a park that liked to take care of old rides somewhere in Pennsylvania... >.>
  9. Firstly, due to much community feedback after the Weisshorn’s reveal at FX2017, we created the Monte Leone. This ride is a smaller and more compact version of the Weisshorn; it has the same mechanical cover and sequences as its bigger brother but it has no roof and a smaller control booth to allow you to customise your own look and feel for the ride. I've never seen devs that make such an effort to listen to their players and community. Everything we ask for, they try to give us. There guys are amazing.
  10. Knoebels is a "definitely" now, have the Glass House cottage booked Aug 27 to Sep 3rd. That should be absolutely perfect for hitting other parks in the area without crowds! I'm incredibly excited; it's going to be a long ten months waiting for it! Definite - Knoebels Hersheypark Lake Compounce Probably - Dorney Park Camel Beach Waterpark SFNE Kennywood Morey's Piers Hopefully - Busch Gardens VA
  11. Yep, that's the plan. I'm waiting to see if I can get one of the Knoebels cottages that week and hit a bunch of central-ish PA places then. I just have to hope I can get the cottage I want that week once they open up.
  12. Great report! I'm always so jealous when I see reports of great days at Hershey; the last several times there have been absolutely insane crowds and hot weather that made it absolutely miserable; last time I was there I only got on four coasters all day long, two hour waits for each. I don't know why it's the one park that I have such consistent bad luck with. It's such a beautiful park, packed with great rides, and I really want to love it. I'll be giving it another shot next August, anyway, and will be able to get there on a weekday, so... *crossed fingers*
  13. How are the lines generally for the haunts? I know the park never has lines for normal rides, but I've never been for Halloween. Thinking of hitting it next weekend if I head down that way for Knoebels like I'm thinking about.
  14. IMO, Dorney's a very underrated park, but...
  15. Definitely Lake compounce, since it's my home park. Almost definitely Kennywood, with or without the new coaster, since I'll be in Pittsburgh anyway for a convention. The big plan right now is to book one of those cottages at Knoebels for a week with some friends. From there, Hershey and Dorney are within daytrip distance, so most likely those too. A long weekend trip to Wildwood and Morey's Piers is more than likely, too.
  16. This bit... No way of knowing if there's any truth to it, but if there is, no fair should ever hire AoA again.
  17. I really only use Twitter (frequently, probably too much so). I do have a facebook account but very, very rarely use it. The others I've never touched. Twitter is where I keep up with friends and find fun stuff. Facebook is where I can't avoid extended family and their "opinions."
  18. I know Knobels is pretty well regarded overall, but I don't see (from my outsider's perspective) what would put it definitively above the rest. Its coaster lineup seems more geared toward family rides and there appears to be zero live entertainment in October (according to their website). Dorney's entertainment is there but kind of sparse, appears to be mostly happening during Haunt. I'm not sure how to word a response, simple text sorta answers can't cover Knoebels, but.. No, nonono. You're saying that because you haven't been on them. Knoebels' coaster lineup is two of the best wooden coasters in the country, then another that's one of the most unique, then a solid steel coaster as a bonus...IMO two of the top 5; top 3 given that Boulderdash has painfully disqualified itself this year. Phoenix and Twister are just too good to really rank, so... Just make Knoebels a priority. No objective measure or simple explanation is going to be good enough. I've been to every park in PA. I'm one of the few genuine fans of Dorney, even! I actually like that park, I think it's underrated! But Knoebels is the best by far, by MILES. If you're going to PA... It's not about family rides or thrill rides or any easy to place category. It's Knoebels. You really just have to go, to experience it, to get it. There's a reason we're all telling you this. Look at every trip report of the park here. Look at any report ANYWHERE. I get it, you don't know what would put it above the rest...because you haven't been there...but you can fix that, and then you'll understand!
  19. I really like the concept, and with my sweet tooth, some of the flavors sound appealing (I know, I'm still six years old inside) but that tiny cup just is not worth the money. That's disappointing. It can't cost them that much more to give you a decent serving for the money...
  20. It's the best airtime machine anywhere, it's really that simple. It's also in a gorgeous setting, immaculately maintained, and never runs at anything less than 100% Twister is also amazing, but a very different sort of coaster, and a bit less consistent.
  21. That is not tea cupping too hard. That right there is victory.
  22. Nobody, hmm? That sounds like a challenge! As far as rides at the home park; none, anymore. Lake Compounce is the home park for me and I used to skip their flyers, but as of this year, they're actually not terrible! Not great, but given that there's never a line... There's really nothing I wouldn't want to ride there anymore.
  23. Celtic Fyre @ BGW will always be my favorite, but being Irish I'm biased as hell. Canada's Wonderland's projection show was amazing last time I saw it, too, but that was years ago, I keep missing it since then.
  24. What the hell...how does a year like this even happen to a good park? This has been an absolute nightmare. If this were a bad movie we'd find out Canobie or SFNE were paying off people on LC's maintenance crew...but outside of bad movies, there's just no excuse...
