  1. I have found an other update. Some inspections. An other support on it's place, to become the highest support of the ride. The connected zero G roll in the background. Also some new support. A lift hill piece. The next step is likely to finish the first drop and the lift hill. Keep B&M's nice and clean. Catwalks lying and waiting. The first drop so far. Highest support is now done. For more pictures and source click here. If they keep it up they will finish track work on the ride before the end of the 2013 season. It will be nice to be able to look at those pictures.
  2. ^ The park is still open but the construction updates are dropping now with the holiday's over here in Europe. This one is from 2 day's ago. I want to point out there hasn't been that much of vertical construction these days: They poured the shop floor, still with the big hole. A lot of groundwork done here. Zero new track. Roofing of the station has started. Close up of the roof. Still a lot of work on the footers. Station surrounded by scaffolding. Beginning on the roofing. The old station of the Log flume is still not completely re-roofed. Supports are laying in wait. Source. These are more recent (Yesterday) The floor is hard already. Some support work done. Some pieces for the winged over drop. And today: Support piece going up in the air and a support piece on the ground. Support pieces gone and track piece in the air. Source.
  3. Chiapas 2014? This seems odd. Instead of "Chiapas neu 2013" within the display of the model it only says "Chiapas". Would this mean that Chiapas doesn't open in 2013? Who knows perhaps a soft opening later this year but that is something we have to wait for. They still work very hard on Chiapas and I was actually expecting something like this soon. On the one side It's a disappointing thought of having to wait another year but on the other hand I would like a complete ride, also it's good to have some lead to a possible 2014 opening then this constant waiting for news. What do you think, 2013 or 2014? Source.
  4. Winja's fear and Force is listed* as my first coaster back in 2005. *That it's listed as my first doesn't really mean it's my first. Back in 2010 I started to keep count of my credits this was the oldest coaster I could recall. I don't know if I and which coasters I rode before.
  5. Walibi Belgium next weekend. We where aiming this Sunday but the park was sold out so had to wait an other week. Anyways I'm looking forward to it since I will have my first chance on a (although modified but still a) Schwarzkopf. After that I have to play the waiting game when Phantasialand opens up Chiapas.
  6. I came across a group back in July on the Bus towards Walibi Holland. While we were driving next to the sea one of them started: (Note friends stands for 2 persons always one of them was saying this.) You know what would be cool? A roller coaster underwater. My thoughts where like: okay we have Diving coaster Vanish so if you mean like that. But his confused friends started to question the idea. Friends: Like how? Going through a glass tube or something? Idea guy: No I mean like literately underwater. This was confusing me but his friends sounded reasonable: Friends: That's impossible. How does that suppose to work? Idea guy: No it's possible. If you go really slow and really high you can get some speed. Okay I lost hope for that guy here, good thing he had friends: Friends: Still not going to work mate. With the pressure of the water you need some serious hight. Idea guy: No it works If you go slowly it must work. Friends: [thought it over] Well if you say it like that then it must work. But how are we going to breath underwater? Okay here I lost them to his spells as well. But his great idea wasn't finished. Idea guy: You're being strapped into diving gear. like a helmet and suite and such. Friends: No that takes to long and will be heavy. Only the helmet, who cares about the cloths? This discussion stopped around here. I thought that must be it but no one of their friends came with an other great idea. Friend: You know I just watched man of steel. Other friend: you mean that new superman movie? Friend: Yeah it was great. You know what would be a great idea? This one I never expected to hear: Friend: They should name a coaster after a super hero or villain. Like Superman the ride. Idea guy and other friend: That sounds like a awesome idea. It was a long bus trip, with them next to me.
  7. I must say looking at 2014 we have some interesting looking elements. Take the Zero G Stall. This one looks really odd and I can't imagine how it would feel. Banshee has 2 beauty's if you ask me. The Pretzel knot here in the center and the In-line wist in the background, that In-line looks so on-logic (It would have seen more logical if they twisted the other way around in my opinion) that I see a beauty there. Last comes from the new Winged Coaster in Heide Park. This Brezel looks really twisty and really tight when I think about the winged trains going through it. A real eye-catcher for the ride. 2014 sure brings more beauty's into the world. Source first 2 pictures: RCDB.Com Source last picture: Coasterfriends.de
  8. ^ They finished that part up today: The end. The over 90 degree turn into the brakes. Looks like a great experience. So this is completely attached to each other. Working on the footers. Big hole in the middle of the floor? Glass? Source.Seems to have a good speed in construction, it must be around 50% done already.
  9. I found an other update today. Brezel loop is finished, looks really nice. The rides end already going up. If I remember good the Bob-sled coaster was closed past day's because of construction. It seems to be open again. Shop floor coming along. Nice. Talk about white. Panorama turn, and some footers still being prepared in the background. Close-up on the Brezel loop. From the sand. Underneath the brake's. More support. Looks like 2 separate inversions like this. Source. Comes up really good.
  10. It sounds like a good addition to the park. I was looking for a good reason to visit the park soon because of GeForce, but I think that now soon means next year.
  11. I just found this video of the big drop of the ride. Source. Looks very good. It shouldn't take long before this ride could open. They're already laying the final hands to the ride and testing is well underway.
  12. ^ I didn't see holes but more like lids on the top part of the spine (each track piece has a lot of them). I just saw a video of the Swarm and noticed that he also has these "lids" this made me take a look at other winged coasters of B&M but the Swarm is the only (other) one have them. Can someone confirm if the Swarm is filled with sand?
  13. ^ If you're talking about those circles on the spine then yes. Wonder if it has any meaning to it.
  14. Found out that they had a lot of work done these past day's: The Panorama turn. Building the Brezel Knot has started. Progress of the re-roofing and the Winged Over Drop start. The first inversion to be build. The shop footer is getting more shape. Over 90 degrees. Winged Over Drop. Love the combination of buildings and coasters. Plaza underneath the Panorama turn. From the base of the Support. The most twisty inversion of the ride. (Meant by that the entire Brezel Knot not just this part) Whit and Green, yeah we know it by now. Great shot. Source.I must say I never thought they would have this much up by now. It's going fast over there.
  15. I found 4 video's of the First drop to Turntable, I thought I share the enjoyment: 1. A fact. 2. Not the best footage. 3. Better. Love the speed. 4. Save the best for last. A nice speedy drop into the turntable. Quite some speed from drop to turn. For source and pictures of this just click here.
  16. Here from a different angle and it shows the end of the ride. Source. It seems the helix is just a horse shoe, and the Brezel Knot seems to be a eye-catcher from all angle's. I have faith that this can be a great coaster.
  17. Found the lay-out of the Winged coaster. Looks like some good near misses. For some reason I think the glass floor rumor will come.
  18. Pictures from the construction can be found here. This one is between them. The lay-out from above. Looks good.
  19. I expected they announced the name too today. But I think they do that tonight and place it tomorrow on the site. (Just guessing here.) It sounds like a interesting ride. Found this one on coasterfriends. This seems like a odd section of track when you look at the supports near it. I have 0 clues on how it continuous.
  20. That's great news. Found this picture from today that shows the drop: Got it here and there's more. Love the placement of that waterfall. Makes it looks like one big one, Great way to theme the big drop. Boat spotted. Yes a Boat was spotted yesterday here are some pictures found here. Not your standard log themed boats, love it. Although it's hard to tell but it looks like we have safety bars, it was to be expected with a ride like Chiapas.
  21. Here some pictures of a Dive-loop or Immelmann. Hard to tell which way you go through it this early. (Although I think Immelmann is more likely.) Also some new footers will come under the lift hill. Source. It's looking good. I'm looking forward to Sunday.
  22. I'm kinda looking forward to hear when they plan to open this ride. I really am looking forward to riding Chiapas so it gets on my nerves that we don't know the opening date yet. I love their secrecy but this time I want them to be more open. Some on-site pictures from one of the construction teams: Universal Rocks.
  23. I mostly ridden coasters from the same manufacture so a small list: Bolliger & Mabillard --> Black Mamba (PHL) Gerstlauer --> Typhoon (BJL) Great Coasters International --> Joris en de Draak (Efteling) Intamin --> Bobbaan (Efteling) Kumbak --> De Vliegende Hollander (Efteling) Mack Rides --> Speedy Bob (BJL) Maurer Shöne --> Winja's Fear and Force (PHL) Roller Coaster Corporation of America --> Bandit (MPG) Vekoma --> Colorado Adventure (PHL)
  24. I just found some interesting news. In about 9 days (August 18th) Heide Park has a little party thanks to the parks 35 years of existence. Off-coarse they plan a party with DJ's and shows. They also have lots of children entertainment and even a pole-sitting contest. There will be some special merchandise for the day. And on 3:00 PM there will be donuts and coffee. But yeah that aside. What I wanted to post about has more interest to the coaster enthusiasts. It's Big, It's fast and it comes closer and closer. Heide park plans to announce the secrets of the new wing coaster of 2014 on their birthday party next sunday. Source, Heide Park's website. So August 18th I'll be looking forward to it.
  25. New Trains. Kind of a surprise I never thought they old one's where bad.
