  1. Well, hi there . I am 12 years old and have a great love for coasters. I live in Mechanicsville, Virginia (10 minutes north of Richmond), and my local park is Kings Dominion, which is 20 minutes away. I live for airtime which is why Intimidator 305 and El Toro are my top 2 favorite rides. I hate Arrow rides and TOGO rides. I will never go on Anaconda or Shockwave at Kings Dominion ever again because of how rough they are. I live 45 minutes from Busch Gardens Williamsburg, which I haven't been to in 5 years. I still have yet to ride Griffon, Alpengeist, Mach Tower, and Verbolten. I am almost in 7th grade (My last day is Thursday) and I hate school. Yeah that pretty much covers my life for ya.
  2. ^It depends if you are into dinosaurs or not, or have kids or not. I saw that many children had a blast moving the dinosaurs around with the buttons, and I saw parents enjoying seeing their kids have fun. I, personally, thought it was 'OK'.
  3. As much as I would love to see another B&M at Kings Dominion, I don't see it happening. KD just got a $25 million (I think?) giga coaster 2 years ago, so I wouldn't think they would spend too much money on a new B&M. And there isn't anywhere to put a coaster in that section of the grove unless they tore out Rebel Yell or something .
  4. But with them having Power Tower, do you think they would add ANOTHER extreme drop ride?
  5. I'm sure El Toro's drop is going to be better, but you never know. Skyrush's drop looks like it will be magnificent as well
  6. Not sure if mentioned before, but does anyone think they will refurbish T2 by giving it the new fancy Vekoma SLC trains and a new paint job (That aren't the current colors that it is now)?
  7. Best: El Toro, the airtime before the breakrun is AMAZING Worst: Volcano at KD, can't say it's lame, but I thought they could've added a little something extra after that drop.
  8. ^That person's grammar just makes them look like a troll. Well I was in line for Volcano at KD the other day and I overheard a conversation between 2 guys saying this, Guy 1: I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM GOING ON THIS RIDE! SOMEONE ONCE CAUGHT ON FIRE ON IT! Guy 2: Dude it's fine, that only happened because the train launched so fast the fire was still coming out when it came out of the mountain! I just want to punch people in the face sometimes...
  9. I went to KD on Sunday, May 13th, and I was AMAZED how light the crowds were. I got to the park at about 2:00, and got a walk on, on Dominator in the 3rd row. We then cut through KidZville to get to the Congo (Surprisingly, KidZville was the most crowded part of the park). I raced to Intimidator 305 and I was able to get a walk on onto the 2nd row . I then waited in line to get on Scrambler (Just to get the credit), and it had the longest wait of the day (20 min.). I then went to Volcano to see that it had only a 7 minute wait! I got 5th row, and then got off and quickly went on it again afterwards. It took me 2 minutes to go onto the 2nd row . I then went to Drop Tower (I have never ridden it, so I thought I was going to pee myself LOL). I rode it and got off and wondered why I had been so scared to go on it. It is now my 3rd favorite ride after Intimidator 305 and Volcano. I then rode it 2 more times and the view of Intimidator at the top is friggin' beautiful, by the way. I then went to WindSeeker and got a walk on, onto that too. Then, I went to Grizzly, and then I got a walk on, in front row! I then left the park at 7:00. I know you ALL are jealous!
  10. ^Just the 60 mph launch would freak me out if I was a 6 year old. I honestly have never been on it, it just looks intense in most POVs I have seen
  11. ^Don't forget the old Stand-Up coasters I do love the new Intamin trains too! It is going to be a really great experience hanging off of the track going 70+ miles per hour!
  12. I personally think I would like Verbolten more than Cheetah Hunt. The theming on Verbolten is probably going to be one of the best I have ever seen (Other than in a Disney park). And Cheetah Hunt is a little to extreme for a family coaster, while Verbolten is in the middle. Go Verbolten!
  13. ^A Lava Monster in Volcano wouldn't really match the theming for it. I do agree with the lava effects though
  14. They were probably 30 minutes-1 hour, which is long for KD standards. Mondays and Wednesdays are usually the least crowded days of the week. Fastlane would be advisable if the Volcano line is long, it would most likely be the longest line there. And yes Waterworks is free with admission to the park. And DEFINITELY go to Flight of Fear and Volcano first. (Usually when I go, Flight of Fear's longest wait is 5-10 minutes, but you never know.)
  15. ^Well, it's supposed to be hot on Saturday, so I wouldn't expect lines more than 45 minutes.
  16. Wood: El Toro. It's just so amazing I can't explain it in words. Steel: Intimidator 305, in the back, with your hands up. Amazing freefalling sensation.
  17. I am a little concerned why I saw the tree swings on the 9th... And the Kidzville area is the most trashiest part of Kings Dominion. With Cedar Fair making all of the improvements to the park, Kidzville is most likely the next thing they will fix up
  18. Does anyone think that it being race weekend, that the park will be a little crowded? I might possibly go on Sunday, and kind of want to avoid large crowds
  19. ^^^I thought of KD doing that with Anaconda as well. The rides are both rough, and when rides are rough, the popularity usually goes down. So using the fancy new Vekoma restraints, could keep the rides standing for even longer.
  20. I have never seen Hurler's line go out of the station. I really don't get why it needs a Fast Lane, honestly
  21. So here is my trip report from last Monday (4/9). Sorry for sucky quality... I only had my phone that day. Walking into the park at about 9:30, there was barely anyone there! As you walk in the park, you are greeted by some pretty fountains. WindSeeker decided to pop into the photo too Look at Intimidator 305, and it's awesomeness. This gives you most of Dominator's layout. There's WindSeeker, looking all pretty in the Grove. There are 2, 300+ feet tall towers in this picture. Intimidator dominates Anaconda. Anaconda might be a ride that most people hate (Including me), but it sure looks purdy over the lake. Woohoo! On my way to I-305! (It was amazing as ever!) Kings Dominion's new hotness for 2012. When you are up this high, and it is a windy day, it is really frightening. The sign for ya. This was, in my opinion, the best flat in the park. (Still haven't ridden Drop Tower) Drop Tower looked like this all day... =( I hate you Shockwave. You don't get a ride from me today. Volcano had a very long line. So, I didn't get t ride that today.... Woohoo! Inversions! Another ride on I-305 and I will be done for today. Dominator's cobra roll and I-305 in the background. Goodbye Kings Dominion
