it's all a crap shoot, due to the year that 2020 has been. Historically, Sunday morning is the way to go - Texans love going to church. (and Canobie Coaster was just there on a Sunday last week, and he said was dead in the morning). so if for me? I'd go on 12/20, and go early, as it will get more crowded as the day goes on.

I'm a comics nerd too, and I didn't know that! LOL. . but I do know about THIS infamous panel from the Comic they did based on "Injustice: Gods Among Us" - this is from Issue #17. it was digital 1st, and the colorist got confused and the comic was released digitally with this image included (no. . really): tho they DID go in and "fix" it with the inking in the actual *printed* copy of the book: -

got one on Wed from SFFT - very similar , tho different "ideas" (dance party, New Year's Eve all thru January, Parking Lot Movies - projected on big screens). . . what's odd, is they obviously missed editing some of the language from their "cut and paste" survey. the SFFT one mentioned at the beginning of the survey that it's open weekends (Fiesta is a year round park), but in the options, they kept mentioning Rides are closed during these proposed "events" so . . yeah. . I suspect the events are planned only for during the week - and on weekends, everything would operate as normal, and for things such as the New Year's Eve - the countdowns, dancing, parties would only happen on the special event days during the week? Still, odd they worded things that way. especially since SFFT tends to be open daily thru big portions of Feb-March (Mardi Gras celebration & Spring Break). But who knows? maybe with Covid, they really did cut "full park" operating hours for 2021 to weekends only. -
our lights are actually "flashers". . that have yellow, orange, red, blue, green. . . it just happens that the pic caught yellow/orange in mine. . . LOL. .it looks like Halloween still on our back porch (facing a major street). . but it's pretty fast blinking of multiple colors

I didn't realize you had such gorgeous weather for your SWSA day too - looks like it was a beautiful day to visit! and great pics of the Riverwalk area. Yeah, that Hyatt is lovely, innit? -
the restraints on Poltergeist cause loading to be so slow, they don't often even run 2 trains - and when they do, the 1st train is always sitting out in the sun on the brake run while the 2nd train takes forever to load as people try to figure out where that "side seatbelt" clicks (it connects to the lap bar), and struggle to figure it out. but at least they (and SFA) don't use the MCBR, so the train just flies thru the 2nd half, and that "hidden" inversion towards the end is taken as an amazing speed.

hurm. . . ok, so DESPITE being told from Customer Service (in an email response no less), the official site says there is a charge for Pass holders and Members: "Members and Season Pass Holders do not require reservations. Present your pass upon entry to purchase discounted tickets for only $7.49 plus tax per person. This offer is available every night of the Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience from 6 – 10:30 PM. Card and digital payments only, please." reservations seem to have filled up - although this notes no reservation required for Members/Pass Holders. (ok, that's strange). So I guess we'll try for a day next week, and if shows sold out online, will just drive up with email in hand, and see what happens - if they charge us, and if they will let us in without a reservation. here's the page from SFFT website if you want more info: https://www.sixflags.com/fiestatexas/events/fiestatexas-events-hip-drive-thru

oh look. . I got a survey from Kennywood asking me what type of "events" I'd prefer they do to get me coming to the park most often. luckily, there's a space on the last page to give some feedback on what other new special events I'd like to see at Kennywood: -
Noelle Stevenson recently did too (although she did not change her name, and said that any/all pronouns will continue to be acceptable to her). if you're not familiar, Noelle does the amazing "Lumberjanes" comic book, as well as the "She-Ra" animated show. her announcement of top surgery on twitter was hysterical. . .

they literally just spent over 1 1/2 years refurbing it, after it sat no operating for a season. there is less than 1% chance Excalibur is going anywhere (probably a .00001 % chance). same is true about Hustler at SFFT - which many seem to be listing as the likely ride to go from that park (they refurbed and repainted the entire ride in late 2019). -
and they rolled over all 2020 passes to good thru the end of 2021 anyways. you don't get near as many perks with a Season Pass as you do with Memberships. but honestly, the only perks we need are the free parking (which they offer with free upgrade to "Gold"), and admission to the other parks. So we do it every year. helps too, to live in a city without a "home" SF park. . we get fantastic deals on Photo Pass & Dining Plan, since we're not "local". . even tho SFFT is my home park (since i live in Austin).

one of the main reasons we made the trip to SFStL in 2019, was so I could ride Superman - as I hadn't ridden it in so long. I got to ride it opening day at Astroworld, and was always a must ride at that park (along with XLR-8 (hey, it was a super unique coaster for a kid in Texas), Cyclone, AstroWheel, Wacky Shack, & Alpine Sleighs (until they removed these last 3) - and later on, Ultra Twister & Looping Starship). was thrilled to get multiple rides on it at SFStL, but even on our trip, 3 of the cars were roped off and not in use. So I'd imagine this old Intamin tower, is a maintenance nightmare. hope the rumors are not true, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were, and a replacement/newer version of a drop tower comes in. -

^ this is an excellent point, and goes hand in hand with something I would be remiss not to point out to u4icmusic : of COURSE they now have the fudge pre-packaged. Less hands touching it, and having "fresh" fudge exposed to the air - during a pandemic with an AIRBORNE pandemic - would *appear* to some guests, like it's being unsafe (whether it would be considered unsafe or not). yet it's taken as "doesn't care about the guest experience". . . FFS - even having never been to the park, and not knowing the exact reasoning? I GET it. Same reason Six Flags has gone cashless in several parks, and is really pushing the mobile ordering.
