  1. from Sunday at Kentucky Kingdom I rode a Tuba!
  2. Opens Friday, so really only got to look at it. Couldn't even cut thru it, so we had to walk around the perimeter. the Chute the Chutes (looked like fun) and the bizzare "abandoned meat packing plant" looking Rapids weren't open until Friday as well.
  3. ^ the best reason (only?) to swing by Dorney Park. or. . take a trip to Nagashima Spaland. . . as they have one too, that brought me RIGHT back to the feeling I used to get on Skyscreamer at Astroworld.
  4. She says kk won’t be more busy in afternoon. Especially since water park in center opens next weekend and will draw the crowd to that
  5. Kim is driving. I read her your query. And she says yes it’s doable. But not enjoyable and holiday world will be PACKED in the afternoon (see above my comment about wait times shortly after open and raven & legend w/ 1 train ops id stick with kk. Or do the reverse and start at hw and hit kk on way back to Cincinnati. Kim agrees
  6. We are literally in the car on the way back from kk (we did holiday world on Thursday) and ki for 2 days between can’t really answer your questions. But will give my impression HW on thurs ended up rained out ~1:30 pm. Park closed at 4 pm so we just called it at 3:15 and headed out to Cincinnati. Thunderbird had 1:20 wait when we got there just after park open (no skip the line options) But well worth it I thought voyage had 1:30 minute wait and was so rough. Even Kim said she’s never had that bad of a ride on it and we rode in row 2 ! never got on raven or legend as they are both 1 train ops and the rain came during our queue for legend. so we rode a couple of flats (turkey shooter & hysterically awful nursery rhyme train) before everything shut down completely. the park is beautiful and very much enjoyed walking the whole park even tho everything was closed down some unique flats and stupidly short starflyer too the bumper cars are horses tho! As to KK ? Yeah. I liked it better than HW So I’d agree it’s the superior park. But that’s because I love WTF things. And this park is a massive WTF? its right near the airport and in the convention center complex. So the entrance to the park looks like it’s sitting across from a mall parking lot great selection of unique flats I’d never seen and some WTF rides such as a blimp ride that made me nauseous , a Flying Dutchman where you ride in a shoe, and this musical carousel where you ride the instruments ! no. Really: the coasters are interesting and lightning run is one of a kind But I don’t like ejector air and both it and storm chaser have lots of it (so rode them twice but not high on my list) thunder run looked to have a lot of new wood and tho warned it was rough? Loved it and rode multiple times. My favorite coaster in the park. Kentucky flyer was fun but short with some funky transitions Didn’t ride T3 (NO thank you). But did ride the roller skater - which has a beautiful setting and unique layout I thought GORGEOUS carousel too. Tho sadly in need of a lot of love as the paint is in *bad* shape oh and they have cinnamon bread now too. (And lots of dolly and country music being played thruout the park ) if I can only go to one? I’d go back to kk even tho curious about trying the missed coasters at hw Tho of voyage is the smoothest of the woodies? Prolly good rained out
  7. They are absolutely trimming hard on the first hill post drop and at the end of the bridge before the turn into the woods they TOLD us they are trimming to help all the new work that was done to last but the trimming on the 1st drop and into the helix felt very similar to what how it was running before the work. i just love someone who was NOT at a coaster enthusiast event trying to diminish a fact I am reporting from the event sheesh
  8. We’re there yesterday. And tho day got rained out around 1 pm, and the park was packed? Had a great time Voyage was ROUGH. I mean really bad in row 2. But we waited an hour and 25 minutes for it (they were using basement queue)
  9. EVERY SINGLE row request from us today (both during morning ert and during regular hours) has thus far been granted I asked with a smile and they all said ok with a smile (on diamondback, beast (row 17 is amazing! The new beast is SO damn smooth! Tho yes they are trimming hard in places - not in the helix tho) Orion, racer, heck. Even on adventure express row request was granted ) im sorry that others aren’t having this experience and sucks missed Alex by 1 day!
  10. very cool report, and pics from a park I've not seen much about ever. To be honest, out of all the properties thus far? there's been *maybe* one (Zombieland), that I have even a somewhat interest in. . . but that doesn't matter! the Theming in this place appears to be quite incredible, and I'm really impressed. the attractions themselves all look like a ton of fun too, even if I don't care about the IP it's based in. thanks so much for sharing. . . looking forwards to seeing more if you have more coming!
  11. this show is AMAZING if you haven't seen it. . tho it got renewed for Season 2 way early in the run, and so it was a given they wouldn't resolve much in the finale. but Christina Ricci is gonna get an Emmy nod for it most likely, and even Juliette Lewis is fantastic in it.
  12. Jeffrey has been posting updates on his Twitter, as they have been working on the theming in the show building: and updating us on the progress of the 3rd train for Iron Rattler:
  13. Rockville, Crackaxle area, los festivales. . all "incredible" theming, for any theme park. . and yes, top of the SF chain in terms of theming. also falling under "incredible" theming? The queue lines for: Pirates, Joker, and Poltergeist and the amount of planting and new benches put in over the past several months have improved the look of the park even more.
  14. open to the public tomorrow, and the park has now uploaded a full ride POV to it's page on SFOT site: https://www.sixflags.com/attractions/pirates-of-speelunker-cave?fbclid=IwAR17cWDjDbsfNUigI0kF3kqATjTGVFWwJPSjcTsbSqVhI39akTSVXozCVNs
  15. As Mike notes. . there's *way* more to parks than coasters, and SFFT has incredible theming thruout, and the location is just lovely. it also has unique flats, and multiple 1st of their kind (or rare) coasters. And Dr. Diabolical is absolutely gonna be a draw, as the 1st Dive Coaster in Texas (and a unique design) if you wanna talk 1-2 thrill ride punch: Iron Rattler - Daredevil Dive Superman - WonderWoman Iron Rattler - Joker Poltergeist - Superman and for the more general, non thrill seeker riders? Rockin at Rockville Show - Christmas Show at Zaragoza & a huge 1-2 punch is: Bug's Bunny Whitewater Rapids (flume) - Hustler. (both really unique for a Six Flags, and I know folks who come to SFFT just for those)
  16. Wildcat is terrible, rough garbage. I'd be fine with RMC. . or just bulldozing the damn thing.
  17. Pirates Media Day is today. . . have several friends riding and posting info about it. Happy to hear tho it does have a lot of Pirates in it (and some of the theming inside looks a bit , um, wooden). . there are lots and lots of Spelunkers in there too! so yay!
  18. besides, this is one of my favorites at the park. . .talk about a fast and fun mine train. . and that final lift hill!
  19. they've posted multiple updates on their YouTube page: . . . they didn't redesign the ride, it's the same layout, so not really any rush to put out another POV, is there?
  20. TTD is a one trick pony, and I've ridden it maybe 3 times in multiple trips to CP (MF, Maverick, and several others, I greatly prefer to TTD. . hell, I've even ridden Cedar Downs WAY more than TTD. . LOL. . and that's not even a coaster). Kings Island is amazing, and think it's a better park than CP - especially for a non enthusiast, since they don't have as many "extreme" coasters as CP does. . and most of KI's coaster collection is mid-upper tier thrill, with don't' miss ones such as Orion, Beast, Diamondback, Bat, Banshee, and Mystic Timbers. I'd throw Adventure Express in there too. . a very fun (and fast) Mine train coaster. As well as some amazing flats including Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. .which is unlike any other version (think Disney Omnimover like Haunted Mansion, crossed with shooting dark ride). If I had to choose? I'd go to KI. .. and yeah, no comparison between Mystic Timbers and any other coaster. . the trains are great (no wheel seats, so wherever you sit, it's smooth). . .love that one.
  21. Tickets at work sells tix for the park...we used T@W for our visit a few years ago, and they were valid for Preview plan.
  22. ^ yeah. . but the Vekoma site also still lists Firehawk on it - as the only other Flying Dutchman.
  23. I mean..it's the 1st of it's kind in the USA, they added a turn table (which caused some redesign work), and there was this Pandemic Thing that closed many parks for quite a while and impacted revenue flow to parks. just enjoy it when it's open. .and it will open when it's open. Otherwise, I just don't get the bitching.
