and they JUST updated an hour ago. . it's opening to the public tomorrow! UPDATE: After more than six months of retracking work, The Beast is scheduled to re-open to guests on Sunday May 8. The 43-year-old wooden roller coaster -- the longest in the world at 7,361 feet -- has received over 2,000 ft. of replacement track and a steeper first drop. -

I think it's running "sluggish" because it's empty trains. and tho Beast is certainly a great reason to go to KI, as is Orion? (my 1st trip ever was last year for Coasterstock, and going back again in less than 2 week!). . . . the reason I'd say *absolutely* go to KI? Mystic Timbers. it's unbelievable how fantastic it is. not a bad seat anywhere. also excellent? Diamondback (row 2 wing seat). and very good coasters: the Bat, Banshee, Racer, Adventure Express, and Flight of Fear (as long as in the front 1/2 of train). some very good flats there too, including a great flume in "Race for your life Charlie Brown". .that will SOAK you. Highly recommended park, and also highly recommended to get FL+ for it. . . it's on 90% of the rides (coasters and flats), and 95% of them it drops you directly in the station rather than merge further back in the line as it does at CP) -

Kings Island just posted an update on Youtube: BEAST UPDATE: Track work has been completed on the world's longest wooden roller coaster, and trains have begun cycling. The exact date the ride will open this month has yet to be determined. #KI50 -

so I TOTALLY get that it's because I haven't had any water today, and just finished an hour + workout. . .but I'll still take it. exactly 20lbs down. . that's with two rough weeks (after my Birthday, and being out of town. . eating bad the whole time). so I actually lost about 1 1/2 lbs (since I was stuck at ~18 lb loss), even tho I was off plan, although I DID keep exercising every day. so not exactly the 25 I was hoping to lose before Coasterstock, but as of a moment ago, I'm 194.2 (down from start of 214). -

^ best that I've been to. I rank it as #1, but have not been to Great Adventure (which I've heard is fantastic) or Magic Mountain (which I've also heard some good - and not good things - about). My top 3 that I've been to: 1) Six Flags Fiesta Texas 2) Six Flags Over Georgia no #3. . .I enjoy parts of Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags Over Texas, and Six Flags America. . but none of them were "great"

to add. . DON'T give in and just get FL. . you want FL+, as that's the one that will give you access to Orion, Mystic Timbers, Flight of Fear, and Beast (and the Antique Taxis, which are beautiful, if not very exciting. . tho they do run right next to Racer, and offer some great photo ops). Can't advise on HW or KK in same day, as never been to those parks (my 1st visit will be in 2 weeks). . . tho we are planning a full day at HW on the way to KI - and have been told DO NOT MISS the 4 water coasters in the waterpark area. and then only 1/2 day at KK on the way back from KI. -

Kings Island without FL+ is a HUGE mistake. Just sayin. Pinch pennies, and buy it for whatever day you go. . .w/ FL+ it really won't matter if it's Sat or Sun. . .as many have also said, FL+ at KI is magic: it's on 90% of the rides (coasters/flats), and almost 95% of them drop you directly in the station from FL+ line. as I've said in the TPR FB page when someone asked about KI, I'm going in 2 weeks for Coasterstock - with *tons* of ERT both days. .and we STILL bought FL+ for that Sat to use during the day between ERT sessions. -

Don’t wait. buy it now even if not too crowded you’ll still save a ton of time -
if it's a hot day, the waterpark will take majority of the crowd (other than Bug's flume & Gully Washer Rapids). Flash pass will save you at least 1-2 hour lines on those two alone. . . seriously. . big coasters can be almost walk on, and these two will have massive lines if a hot day (and the Gully Washer line is "hidden". . so you dont' realize exactly how long it is, even after you are in the line). so if you like water rides? yeah, the Flash Pass is worth it.

seeing reports online that BGW quietly has removed Davinci's Cradle (the "Magic Carpet" flat) from the park. of course, I see some clickbait articles mentioning "Major attraction shut down!". . which this flat is not. . tho it is one of only a handful of flats in the park. wonder if they are gonna replace it with something in that garden area?

^ you are correct (and I was incorrect) it's open for Business travelers, thru my work. .. that's where I was getting the info from. (one just has to follow the 3 day quarantine) but I am seeing that pundits are expecting general open to tourists to happen in the next few months.. . so that's still a silly post joking that perhaps they would be fully open to tourists by 2027. https://www.insidekyoto.com/can-i-travel-to-japan-now -

^ this is a silly comment. Japan's boarders are open to international travelers *right now*. . all you have to do is follow the procedures and you would be welcome. Perhaps you are thinking of China? (and no, not all Asian Countries are the same) -
I don't think anyone was laughing at you Bill. perhaps teasing you?

Lone Star Lil's is an open theater. . .the main seating has always been on the side. . . not what you seem to think was main seating. but oh well. . why bother arguing with an "expert" who doesn't live here, and is not a park regular for the past couple of decades. I mean, you CLEARLY know better than I. -

again. .NOT really a true statement. it's being built on what was Sundance backstage, and *maybe* 15 feet of grass that some could sit on, but was never the "main seating" for Lone Star Lils. the main grass seating area is still there for Lone Star Lils. . . was just on it the other day for a tour of Dr. D's station build: the back rows of LSLs and the station for Dr D's being built the grass seating for LSLs. . you can see how much is avail. still. SFFT is my home park. . been going there for decades, and go pretty frequently -

NOPE. Dr Diabolical is being built on what was the Sundance Theater *one* of several outdoor amphitheaters at the park. Fiesta still has 4 outdoor theaters - circled in Green below: the Amphitheater in Lost Festivales (used multiple times a day), the Small kids stage in "thrillseeker park", the stage in front of Rockville High (also used thruout the day for standing room shows), and the biggest amphitheater - the one used for concerts - Lone Star Lil's (which they just totally refurbed the covered seating area in) gets used for Fireworks seating (on the lawn) , and books concerts and shows still. . . . literally right next door to Dr. Diabolical. not to mention the 3 indoor theaters (two of which are big - Rockville High & Zaragoza, and one indoor stage in the Sangerfest Halle - all circled in blue below. Edit to add: there's also a small indoor stage in "the Thirsty Buffalo" bar (#89 on the upper right of the map), that has a piano player and "saloon girls" show) -
