  1. my friend Ricky in Vancouver posted that to his Facebook earlier he's most excited about "mother mother". . they must be a local band?
  2. 3 Days! at this time in THREE DAYS!, I will be standing next to Nrthwnd, outside of Hotel Breakers, taking a picture of Cedar Point.
  3. how close is your home to the park, Bill? seems to be a convenient distance, that you're able to go so often! Jealous -- i grew up about 2 miles from Astroworld, so was there almost every weekend (if not every day over the summer)
  4. Alpengeist & Griffon both have "big boy" seats. . so no issues there. and Apollo should be no issue either. If anything, Tempesto will be an issue, and possibly LNM, due to how tight the cars are. . . waist won't be an issue, but large thighs might be.
  5. if I didn't need my phone for pics, I'd likely just be running around with a hat/sunglasses. luckily Bill and I are at Breakers, so either we'll pay for a lock/box (Bill is gonna have a souvenir cup), or we'll just got back to the room quite a bit. I'm fine doing either one
  6. Since Elissa brought up the suggestion, that we get back to those l-o-c-k e-r-s.... I have questions about them. I know there are all day l-o-c-k e-r-s at the front gate. And I have the list of coasters that have their own "limited time" storage bins in front. Questions: If you use one of the bins at a coaster for say, 4 hours, can you take stuff out, and/or put stuff back into them? Or once you open it again, is that it for using them? And are there still any coasters with storage bins on the exit side of the train on the platform? I remember finding this out at Goliath in SFMM, after I put $ into a bin at the entrance gate. Then I went through that long long queue, and then found out I could of put my stuff on the exit side, in a bin. Any kind of a list would be great, thanks. (Planning in advance for CoasterMania! and CP in June) hehe. . "June". . it's ONE WEEK! (I know. .it's coming fast!) from what I understood, the Hotel is a short walk from park, so didn't even think we'd have to mess with L**kers. . . figured we could just run by the room if we needed anything. no? if we need to get some, we can share, so no biggie either way!
  7. glad to hear they responded, and did so with a solution. (nice to see they were able to identify the employee and have a talk with him). again, sorry you had to go thru it at all, but glad there was some response (and an even more personalized one that I had been expecting).
  8. hahahahahahaha oh my. . I guess I don't know what "homophobia" looks like. I'll have to ask my husband to learn me!
  9. not COUNTING on it..but for Coastermania!. . I'd be shocked if there wasn't something (even just a Q&A) about Mean Streak. either way. . 10 days! (and will actually BE there in 9)
  10. Maybe they'll let us ride the part that's finished when we're there in 10 days?
  11. awww man. . just saw this I vastly preferred Moore as Bond. . . I'll miss him, but 89 isn't too shabby a life.
  12. Overreacting? in my opinion maybe just a little bit. Living in Texas, I deal with idiots like that guy all the time... so maybe I'm just used to it? I would have absolutely said something to the man. and would have made it clear to the Bartender that his agreement was inappropriate and made you feel unwelcome. The time to have said something, in my opinion only, is when it was actually happening, and to ensure the Bartender knew you were uncomfortable with his handling of the situation. But you do have a valid point to make to CP that it was not appropriate for the bartender to "laugh and agree". . . not sure what they will respond with, but likely you will get a response along the lines that they strive to make all feel welcome, and they are sorry for the situation. I'm sorry you felt singled out. hugs. bert
  13. ooo.. going to put a poncho with my "to be packed" pile right now. sheesh. .I really hope for good weather on 6/2. . would be a shame if we have crappy weather for Coastermania!
  14. I only wear them if I have an eye infection, or lose a contact. . so basically . . . never.
  15. New back-up glasses.. just in time for my trip to Cedar Point. (you know, in case a bug flies into my contact on Top Thrill Dragster)
  16. A pic from my friend John, who just finished off what he called "a perfect day" at Cedar Point.
  17. you took a LOT of pics, and all of them good! thanks for sharing, Bill!
  18. Add in Dorney. VERY possible to hit everything you'd want to ride in just a few hours. We did a Penn. trip a few years ago, flew into Pittsburgh, and did Kennywood, Hersheypark, Knoebel's and Dorney.. of course, we did that over 4 1/2 days, and then spent 3 days in Philly doing "historic" stuff. . bit VERY possible to do in just a few days, if you leave Kennywood early enough, make use of preview night at Hershey, and only account for a few hours at Dorney. but Knoebel's is easily a full day, or 2 day park -- especially if you want to do the museums. the Eagles, and play a LOT of Fascination
  19. wait. .no pics of you ON a ride? what the heck??
  20. you're going to go to Kings Dominion, but bypass the absolutely spectacular BGW (less than an hour from it) ?? hmmm. .
  21. we were there a couple of years ago, and it POURED. .I mean, like flooding pouring.. . and everyone just hung out inside shops/under the covered picnic areas for about an hour, all the water drained, and everything other than Flying Turns opened right back up. go, if you get the chance, there's stuff to do, even if it rains.
  22. yeah. . .really hope you can make it! my friend Don from Cleveland is talking about driving up to CP on Sunday to meet up with us (even if just for lunch) too, so he might be there too! I'll IM you my cell # so you can let us know (unlike Bill . . *I* have a cell, so you can text us )
  23. me three! (and the top of the Oil Derrick is beautiful. . you should go up once for some great views of the park).
  24. glad to hear that's the tough part. the ER Dr. told me if no improvement in 10-14 days, it likely will never improve. so , of course, nervous, and hope I start seeing something going on in the next few days! Yea, they told me the same thing, too, and that had me really nervous at first also. That's only in about roughly 5% of patients, though, so the odds are strong you'll make a full recovery. It can take a few weeks, though, so just stay patient and hopeful. Happy thoughts! Thank goodness the steroids seem to have had some effect. still no reaction at all from the eye down (lip/cheek still "dead"). . but eyebrow has some movement, and I can now wink/blink my left eye. So seems to be helping! ~1 month later, and happy to report that I'm 99% back. still a *SLIGHT* drag on my upper left lip, but unless looking for it, it's not really noticeable. I am still struggling with some nerve issues in my cheek - that the Dr. thinks is related to the bell's. . .but I can live with it if those "tingles" never fully go away.
