  1. every time I'm impressed by a poster's vocabulary, I just have to remember that Hay is for Horses.
  2. they are having a music festival there on 3/3 (next Saturday), and they are advertising the opening of Wonder Woman for festival attendees. so yeah, basically 9 days. . this sucker will officially be open in 10 days! http://botanicamusicfestival.com/ "The inaugural Botanica Music Festival takes place March 3, 2018 at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Botanica is a family friendly event that features over 20 performers on multiple stages, from international touring acts to local favorites, as well as fun activities, amazing local food, signature beverages, and more. In addition, we are excited to announce that all attendees will have full and exclusive access to the rides of Six Flags Fiesta Texas as part of the event ticket. PLUS, the park will be debuting its new Wonder Woman Golden Lasso roller coaster that weekend just for us!"
  3. wow. . that looks . . . stunning
  4. I was gonna say something, but didn't bother 'cuz it doesn't bother me--the W is totally an upside-down M. Design choice or...? EXACTLY. . to my eye, it looks like the placement is off. The Art Director in me (I have a degree from University of Texas), totally thinks that the "Twisted" needs to be shifted to the right a bit. . so that the bottom of the "T" will line up with the "I" in Timbers. what that would accomplish is make the "W" in Twisted, mirror the "M" in Timbers. .and be much more pleasing to the eye. that the W & the M look so similar, makes me wonder if that was the original intention?
  5. agreed, GREAT start. and your pics are really nice, what kind of camera? or is this an iPhone?
  6. Just got an email from the park advertising Wonder Woman will be open for Spring Break. so that's official, they are planning on it being open the week of March 12. (and they teased passholders could get an earlier peek. . so since season officially starts Sat, I'm guessing they will soft open the 1st weekend in March for passholders)
  7. in celebration of the tix I just got to see them live in April: Covenant "Dead Stars" [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  8. from Saturday night's "Dressed to the 9's Gothic Ball" at my favorite club in Austin, Elysium
  9. yeah. . myself, I can just wait to ride the coaster, and enjoy it for what it is, and don't really care if the extra 300 ft is just for show and is track painted to look like a giant bun for the trains (rethemed to look like a Nathan's wiener) to glide into at the station. . when they announce the REAL theme to the coaster: coney island hot dogs.
  10. Been a busy past few days, so delayed updating but I DID weigh in on Sat (sticking to that regardless), and once again, *exactly* the same weight as I was a week earlier: 190.2 lbs. so although maintained, was very hard not to get discouraged, since I continued my exercise (every freaking day), and had eaten healthy despite Valentine's Day piece of chocolate during last week. so yeah, that was Sat morning, and then despite telling myself over and over: don't get discouraged, fell *hard* off the wagon. as noted, was a very busy weekend, and just wasn't able to squeeze in any exercise (which really at the end of the day is an excuse, as despite how busy I've been I've always managed to squeeze in SOME exercise). But not Sat or Sunday. and on Sat, ended up eating Sushi for lunch (sugar in rice, fat in spicy mayo, and sodium all over place). . then out clubbing that evening-- and tho I SUPPOSE you can call dancing "exercise" -- the alcohol consumed during the night kind of tanks that. . . especially since at 1am we ate Chicken nugget sandwiches/fries/coleslaw at the pub across the street from the club we were at. first time I've done that in YEARS. . . .(get buzzed and eat so late before heading home to sleep). Then on Sunday tied up all day with the Cirque Du Soliel ice show, followed by Burgers/onion rings/chili cheese fries (a great local chain called "Mighty Fine Burgers"), and I even ended up drinking fountain drink soda I had asked for a cup for water, and she charged us the $2.50 fountain drink price. . . so since we had paid, I just went ahead and drank soda. I know. .it's all a mental thing. the positive, since I'm not updating until Tues, is that I DID take the opportunity of "fresh week" to get back on plan, and exercised yesterday, and am back to eating healthy, and only drinking water. So back on plan, and we shall see if I can make any progress by next Sat, or if the weekend slip will cause me to gain any. hope y'all are doing better than I did this past weekend! bert
  11. I'll write up a full review, with pics to post (when I have time). . but initial impression: underwhelmed. the show is clearly targeted at a much younger audience (I'd say pre-teen), and the toddlers in the crowd were absolutely wowed, so it has that going for it. but it's basically Ice Capades, some fine skating, but at the end of the day, they mainly used the idea of an ice-set show for what you're seeing in the winter olympics. Impressive, yes, but not really up to my standards for a Cirque show.
  12. the first drop is just insane. I'm in awe every time I see it.
  13. they're advertising mid March here in Austin for the opening the best part? even if WW is *slammed* it will split the crowd and leave Iron Rattler (and Poltergeist) with shorter lines, so win, win, win regardless!
  14. the food looks amazing (tho I still find it funny as hell that SeaWorld has a food festival focusing on seafood). but the price is extremely reasonable, and if I were anywhere near there would be going multiple times. thanks for the report, something to plan on trying to get to in the future!
  15. I'm gonna try to make it down to the park for Opening weekend next weekend, but it's looking like my work schedule is gonna be brutal. . so might not be able to until the weekend after (March 3-4).
  16. I may be getting Coastermania ERT mixed up with passholder ERT because both times we marathoned Maverick, but I don't remember the lines being long. I'm definitely sure I drank quite a bit of beer at Coastermania and didn't eat very much (don't eat BBQ), so I was feeling a bit uncomfortable after 6 or 7 rides on Mav. during ERT. Since we're not talking about Coastermania specifically, I can attest that at several passholder ERT sessions, we got plenty of rides in. It wasn't to the point where you could just sit and stay on the ride, but the longer ERT went on, the thinner it got. The last 15-20 min you pretty much don't have to wait at all (in general people are p*ssies and don't have stamina like we do ) we rode Maverick before the Coastermania! evening ERT started. . while CM folks were lining up in the ERT line (outside the Fastlane entrance) while inside the queue, it was only 15 minutes or so. (that, I think, was the only time we actually got in line and rode it without having to wait for a breakdown to be fixed. . LOL. .. but we got a lot of rides on it over that weekend). we must have seen each other at the park.. it's a shame we didn't get to say "hi" I know! I feel like I didn't "mingle" very much at Coastermania last year. Maybe this year. Are you guys going again? unfortunately, no. I will be back to CP this year, but not until several weeks after Coastermania! have a great time if you get to go tho. . I loved getting to meet fellow TPR members (hi TBPony, Password, and several others), and hope you get to this time. . . . maybe I will bump into you at some point in travels!
  17. if you add them to your Club TPR membership, then they can get tickets. (my Membership includes my Spouse, for example, so he has a club TPR card too). I'm trying to recall, but I *think* they checked membership cards at the main gate before allowing us in?

  19. silly double post.. so here's a pic of evening ERT at Coastermania! 2017
  20. During Coastermania! the evening ERT lines were longer than the lines had been on the prior day, so we skipped all of them, and just went for the kiddie coaster, since it was a chance to be a credit whore (which I'm not. . but it was a rare opportunity to ride Wilderness run) so that's the only thing we bothered with during ERT.. seriously, the lines for Maverick were longer than they had been all day.
  21. I'd also say don't miss the Kangaroos & Wallabees
  22. while I *like* the Varsity ? for me, it's just not a trip to Atlanta without a meal at the Vortex! we like the Peachtree location (which is more of a dive bar feel), with the "Phallus shrine" over the more "Family friendly" Little 5 points location. . . (and yeah, I didn't post those pics. . LOL, this is a Family-friendly thread) from 2017 stop at the Vortex this was our waitress from 2016 2016 stop
  23. LOVED this report.. so glad you had a great time
  24. Thanks Andrew. . LOL. . I wish I had seen you got to it before I dug thru to find what page it was on. .
  25. here ya go. . it's a long TR, but the Brews & BBQ is at the bottom of page 7 http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=74913
