  1. I actually enjoy Boomerangs quite a bit. Although I wouldn't stand in a huge line for any of them. Boomerang - Six Flags Fiesta Texas Carolina Cobra - Carowinds Boomerang - Worlds of Fun Carolina Cobra's my favorite because of the trains, but none of these 3 I thought were that rough.
  2. Just got back from the trip and it turned out to be a great time! Noah's Ark was the best waterpark I've been to. Black Anaconda, Time Warp, and Scorpion's Tail I thought were best. Got the night pass for Timber Falls, $15, got 5 rides in on HellCat. Definitely worth it! That thing took the turns so fast I thought we'd end up in the road. Mini golf there was ok. Mt. Olympus ended up being very fun as well. Got on Zeus, Hades (x2), Cyclops (x2), Pegasus, Opa, Catapult, and the Hermes and Trojan Horse tracks. Zeus was fun but unremarkable. Rode it in back but didn't find it to be too rough. Pegasus and Opa were basically just credit stops. Rode Cyclops twice in back and was practically riding on the seat divider with all the airtime. However, while the airtime was amazing, the drop was also very rough (retracking soon?) Hades had the only long line and we waited in it twice; once for front and once later for back. Overall, I honestly thought it was great. It was WAY rougher in back, though. I have a high tolerance for painful rides, but my friends, not so much. It needs a second train but overall I thought it was still a fun ride. Thanks a lot for all the help that was given!
  3. Hmm, that single rider thing doesn't sound too good, seeing as I'm in a group with 2 other friends. Oh well, I'll see on Sunday. Thanks everybody, this helped out a lot!
  4. Yeah, I've heard of Mt. O's horrible operations (and rough woodies). Does that park usually get that busy? You'd think being surrounded by other parks and having an included waterpark that it wouldn't be too busy. I realize that both parks could be in one day, however I've got two days there so I think I'll just get the most out of Mt.O and its waterpark that I can and do Noah's Ark the second day.
  5. Good to know about HellCat! I'm definitely going to check it out. Also, another question--I'm there all of Saturday and most of Sunday as I have to drive 4+ hours home that night. Seeing as I won't have quite a full day on Sunday, does anyone have any recommendations as to what park should be what day (Mt. Olympus or Noah's Ark). Basically, what park is worth more time?
  6. I too am immune to rough rides. I really seem to love Mean Streak, Rattler, and Boss while my friends seem to ride them once and be done. Good to know about Hades and HellCat! I was just planning on paying to ride HellCat once with the "Coaster-only" pass, however if it is a good ride than the all-day pass might be a better option (although the 5-lap limit is pretty bogus). I'll have to think about that one. I do ride kiddie coasters but only ones that aren't much hassle and allow adults. But thanks for that info as well.
  7. I'm planning a trip to the Dells the weekend of June 29th. Want to definitely get to Mt. Olympus and Noah's Ark, so I just had some questions and if anyone who knows could answer that would be great. Sorry for the number of questions, I just figure I'll get better answers here than looking on wikipedia or something. Are there any awesome seats on the Olympus woodies that I should know about? I know of Cyclops's backseat but are there any for Zeus and Hades? I normally just go for front and back unless there is a "money seat." Are any of the woodies currently down for retracking? Any rides at Mt. Olympus other than the coasters that are worth riding? Is the Timber Falls woodie worth a ride? Any Noah's Ark must-rides? I know of Point of No Return, Black Anaconda, and Scorpion's Tail. Also--about how long should I expect for each park? I stay most of the day at any park, but I'm just curious. Thanks!
  8. ^^ I've actually had some "almost" ejector/strong floater airtime in the very front, especially on the third hill. Front is best also in my opinion as it rides smoother and gives better views.
  9. I agree. Also, if DT does end up being removed, I wouldn't doubt at all that CP might have a second coaster for 2013. Something more family-oriented. CP has changed a lot over the recent years, but I still doubt that they're going to give up the coaster crown easily. Honestly, at this point I'd still like to see Disaster Transport and Space Spiral saved if possible.
  10. Looking at the layout on pg. 1168, why would they have to remove Space Spiral at all? Coaster doesn't even touch it.
  11. I'm a little disappointed by this, as I actually quite liked Disaster Transport. I never got to ride it in the years that it was in the best shape, but the dark bobsled aspect always seemed pretty fun and the darkness seemed to add to the speed. Space Spiral is also a large loss as that ride is still--for some (generally older) people--an iconic CP attraction from the 1960s. Also, I just rode X-Flight this past weekend, and I found it to be nothing special and quite slow. Not exactly what I would want to replace two older rides that I enjoy. I, for one, am hoping this development doesn't happen. DT could use a refurbishment, not a removal. Just my opinion, here. And for those talking about the dark ride, it doesn't have to go in DT's spot. It can just use the old Pirate Ride building over by Blue Streak!
  12. I might be the only one thinking it, but it's a shame to loose a prototype SLC...and Greezed Lightnin' of course.
  13. ^ I'm not familiar with Great Adventure's rain policy as I don't live near there, however I have visited the park. Kingda Ka will NOT be open during rain.
  14. I agree with those who like Disaster Transport, I mean, It's by no means a destination coaster of the park, but it is always a quick thrill. The building is pretty ugly, but an enclosed bobsled coaster is still pretty cool. With a few updates, it could actually be a pretty unique ride. If they move it to Michigan's Adventure, I vote they throw in Knott's Boomerang as well...
  15. I've always been surprised how much Disaster Transport seems to be universally hated. It just seems to me that an indoor Intamin bobsled would be more liked than the other models (La Vibora, etc), but that apparently is not the case. I mean, the building is ugly, but the GP likes it and it always has a line. I wouldn't mind it staying for more seasons.
  16. 1) Afterburn - Carowinds 2) Raptor - Cedar Point 3) Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe 4) Batman/Great White* 5) Patriot - Worlds of Fun * Out of all the Batmans I've ridden (SFGAm, SFstL, SFGAdv, and Sea World San Antonio), I'd have to give the slight edge to the original at Great America, however really there was no noticeable difference.
  17. STEEL: Kingda Ka WOOD: El Toro SHUTTLE: Mr. Freeze (SFstL)
  18. Actually, it would be the seventh! Jr. Gemini Disaster Transport MF WT TTD Maverick
  19. Mean Streak 2011 in the rain, last car, last row. The trims barely worked they were so wet. VERY rough ride, however I had a great time as it was the fastest ride I've ever gotten on Mean Streak. The Rattler in the last car is a close second.
  20. Bunch of maps from all the parks I've been to, some old CP maps from my parents, couple of coaster shirts, and my true gem, a CP Banshee postcard (thanks eBay!).
  21. Is this the 2007 map? Superman is still there and Deluge is also.
  22. Just a guess...the former Londonderry Express from Lotte World closed in 2002 and was resurrected in Kuwait in 2009. Although RCDB states it could actually have opened earlier.
  23. Is there any reason why Chiller was down so much more than the Mr. Freeze's? They're similar rides, Chiller just seemed to not work.
  24. Yeah, the turn is wide because at SFGAm it had to go over the train track. The drop then brought you back over the tracks to the station side where the rest of the ride was. It was kinda hard to see at Great America.
