This morning, I had the privilege of being able to check out the Calico Mine Ride for the media preview. Although it was a preview, the ride was open for the rest of the day and most presumably tomorrow. Everything is done and ready to go! The Calico Mine Ride restoration was amazing! Like the Timber Mountain Log Ride, Garner Holt did an amazing job with the animatronics and the new lighting. A lot of the animatronics look so life-like and great, whlle everything else still maintain the "creepy" old-fashioned vibe. The ending did blow me away with its special effects and upgrades they put in....yes there was a pun in there. It did remind me a lot of the new scene from Big Thunder Mountain. Actually, it was probably directly taken from it. Overall, please go check out the Mine Ride. It's amazing and you will love the updates Garner Holt put in there. I also loved what they did with Camp Snoopy. It looks beautiful again! The new figures on the Sierra Train were very cute and the Linus Launcher was quite fun! Oh, one more thing. During the dedication of Camp Snoopy's reopening, Raffi hinted at the new dark ride opening next year. "we are turning our attention to the boardwalk for interactive family fun for 2015."

Going to parks alone?
Someotherguyuser replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do the parks alone quite a bit. It is nice to not be able to go at your own pace, do everything that you want, not have to wait around for anyone, and think on your own. You can also go when you're available and not wait for someone to go with you. I have recently gotten tired of doing the parks by myself as being alone all the time has gotten old. -
I honestly think the audience that MM targets will eat wing coasters up. Remember, most of their customers are not coaster enthusiasts and are not aware of any potential this project can unleash. In fact, I'm willing to bet most of them don't even know what a Rocky Mountain conversion is. That's fine. The general public in no market is more informed than another about ride types or manufacturers, but there is an enthusiast population that speaks on behalf of them, and whose voices are heard loud and clear by park planners, ride designers, etc. Look at all the FREE consulting advice we give parks on these message boards and other similar websites on a daily basis. Parks can look at this form of public opinion as well as toward previous cases to inform decision-making. The park knows that they can knock the ball out of the park with an RMC based on the success stories so far in Texas. Okay, I see where you're coming from. MM has a history of prefering quantity over quality and tends to build for the titles. Yes, there will be an out cry if our RMC theories are false (I highly doubt this though). But if they did went ahead and actually demolished Colossus for another gimmicky coaster, it will still attract their targeted crowd and in turn make a profit. Us enthusiasts can kick and squal all we want, but we will eventually head on out and try the new ride ourselves (well, most of us anyways ). Will this strategy accumulate more money than the RMC? Of course not. But it will pay well if the new addition was cheap enough. Not only that, two coasters can probably fit in Colossus' space with this stragtegy. SFMM Park Managment: "This is a brilliant idea! Quick! Give RMC a call that we changed our minds about the Colossus redo! We We can get our 20th coaster in sooner than later. Give Togo and Vekoma a call!" A wing coaster would be incredibly pointless as X2 has that same feel. I have a theory: Anyone notice the 'Win a trip to see GOLIATH at SFGAm" adverts around the park? Here's a theory.....what if we're getting a clone of that, but it's renamed...."SON of GOLIATH"

do they test water slides with water dummies? I did in RCT3 Ha! I was going to reply the same. Actually, they were testing some dummies on the slide. I saw them pull out the people out of lines that were making statements like "Goliath needs more flips" and "Viper is the tallest coaster in da world" and used them to test the ride.

You know you're a Sux Flags park when you're shady to everyone else just like the employees. You know you're a Sux Flags park when you film with your iPhone vertically...just like the Full Throttle promo video. You know you're a Sux Flags park when you place ads on your clothes and all over your car like their parks do. You know you're a Sux Flags park when you dress and talk like the typical GP that goes to those parks....you know, the kind that have their pants down, wear gold chains, claim they have "Swag Bra!" and scream "Hella!" and call all of their roller coasters "da big scury ride wit all da loops de loooop! YOLO!" You know you're a Sux Flags park when you demand that a kiddie coaster needs to have a loop in there to make it "more scary" (I hear that all the time at the mountain).

So I just booked my flights, and I'll be at Six Flags Over Texas on Friday Jun 20th and the 21st! I won't be in the park until the afternoon (Like around 2ish) since my flight will be arriving around 11:30. I'll be there all day Saturday though. I don't fly back until Sunday so I'll get to do the park twice! So stoked for Texas Giant! I'll be flying out of Orlando after having the chance to see all of the major parks. In seven days time, I'll be checking out Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, New Fantasyland, EPCOT, Expedition Everest, and Texas Giant. It's going to be a heck of a time! If anyone wants to meet up with me on those dates at the park, just message me! I'd love to meet some of the Midwest members. It's just going to be me at SFOT.
