I caught The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies last night. Overall, it was a nice and thrilling way to conclude the Hobbit trilogy. One of the strongest aspects of the film has to be the focus on characters and plot points that didn't really get the treatment they deserved in Desolation of Smaug, such as the silly relationship that I somewhat cared about in this, the character of Bard, and some really great development for Thorin. The battle itself was absolutely fascinating, with lots of intense moments and crowd pleasing moments. The insane overabundance of CGI still irked me quite a bit (fire effects were pretty bad), and the whole storyline following Gandalf, Galadriel and the others at Dol Goldur just felt so irrelevant and unnecessary. My biggest gripe with the entire series as a whole is probably the underutilization of Smaug. He's one of the biggest aspects of the story and he seems shoved aside and generally insignificant. Overall, though, a nice conclusion to the entire Hobbit story that somewhat shoehorned in one or two too many Lord of the Rings references 7.5/10

^It might be this because a good number of superhero movies follow a very similar plot structure that we've seen so many times, and Big Hero 6 seems to follow that storyline fairly closely. Makes the movie predictable and diffuses some of the tension.

The photos are black, I'm afraid. Looking at your past pictures, it seems that you definitely need to practice working with your architecture. It's big and bulky and doesn't look appealing at all. At times, you are combining roof pieces with wall pieces that don't go together at all. The foliage is oddly placed in rows or in clumps rather than spacing them out or placing them with shrubs and spreading out tree types throughout. I'm not trying to be rude, I just want to help out your park

^I read it last year; phenomenal story! Loved it. This trailer is promising. Hoping to see this one in theaters!

Yeah, this is one that strikes up a lot of interest. Hopefully seeing it next weekend. Hearing lots of Oscar buzz for Cumberbatch

Caught Big Hero 6 earlier today. Not the most pleasant theater experience I've had, but the movie is a good bit of fun! Baymax is absolutely hilarious and lovable. Hiro is a great protagonist and the supporting characters are nice, even though they could get kinda annoying at times. Some story points were a bit predictable, but not much of a detriment to the overall film. Overall, action-packed, funny and heartfelt, I recommend checking out Big Hero 6 if you already haven't it. It's definitely worth your time.

Does anyone else here have a Top 10 for 2014 thus far? There are still TONS of movies I'd love to see (Nightcrawler, Birdman, Fury, Big Hero 6, etc.), but haven't gotten to see (hopefully seeing BH6 in two weeks). I've seen 24 movies from this year; here's the Top 10: 1. The Raid 2 2. Interstellar 3. The Grand Budapest Hotel 4. X-Men: Days of Future Past 5. Guardians of the Galaxy 6. The Lego Movie 7. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 8. Lone Survivor 9. Edge of Tomorrow 10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Interstellar: A feast for the eyes, ears and brain, Interstellar is just great. Visually stunning and with a surprising amount of heart within it, Interstellar is an enthralling sci-fi adventure unlike most. Hans Zimmer creates one of his best scores yet, a new cinematographer for Nolan gives us some amazing shots and McConaughey shines in the lead role. The dialogue is a bit clunky at times, and oddly tough to understand or even hear due to some blaring sound. The movie COULD be hard to follow for some. Overall, though, a movie that needs to be seen to be believed.

I still really like that looping coaster. Looks really nice! One thing I'd suggest adding some variety to your walls and roofs. All you have is the North American cabin roofing and walling throughout the ENTIRE park. Variation variation variation! And..."Compact Woodie?" Sorry, but try something new in the naming department... Solid, though. Find ways to work with other types of walling and roofing aside from the North American cabin stuff. That's the big thing. Other than that, you have a pretty solid park.

^I won't be seeing it in theaters, but it does look interesting. Probably catch it when it comes out on DVD. Just finished watching The Grand Budapest Hotel. It is just beautiful. The way it is filmed, the writing, the characters, Wes Anderson's odd style. I just love it. Really fun movie and one of the best movies I've seen from 2014. I need to check out some his other movies, especially Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom.

It looks really good. I want to echo the idea about the stream. The steps in the stream look really odd where it just ends. Waterfalls would definitely help. The mountain looks a bit peculiar to me. It is a bit odd how the higher part of the mountain doesn't have snow, but the lower part and some of the trees on the higher part do... Overall, this is a REALLY nicely done terrain set up. Great job!

Carol has turned into one of my favorite characters with Tyreese. This past episode was pretty solid. Really dark and I am loving the progression of Rick. He's descending down an interesting path.

^^Awesome to hear! Hoping to see four movies (Interstellar, Big Hero 6, The Imitation Game, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies) through December 19, one every two weeks.

[RCT2] Magic Island
molemaster43 replied to MrSum1_55's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Solid, but that giant default red structure at Magic Island needs some work. Vary up the colors (there seems to be a lot of default red throughout the park). Maybe switch up those signs at the bottom of the structure since they are default colors as well? I would also spice up the architecture for the Haunted Mansion ride. Looks bland at points, and I can't imagine that outdoor straightaway being interesting at all for the rider. You have some interesting looking concepts throughout, but the architecture needs some work. -
Most Photogenic Coasters

Ouch...tough one: Maverick is a really nice looking coaster, especially shots with Lake Erie in the background. You can also get some really awesome shots of Phantom's Revenge. Millennium Force is really really nice looking as well. So many other ones, though. -
"Introducing Flint" - Mark Mothersbaugh Really niece piece of music from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
