Saw Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation; quickly became one of my favorites of the year and my favorite of the franchise. The plot holds together and perfectly strings together a series of exciting and exhilarating action sequences, from a great sequence in an opera house to one of the best motorcycle chase scenes out there. Rogue Nation is definitely worth a watch. It has a couple minor pacing issues (131 minutes long), but it doesn't hinder the movie down much at all. Performances are great all around, Simon Pegg steals the show for me again. Check it out!

Carowinds Discussion Thread
molemaster43 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello everyone. I'm hitting Carowinds next Monday (8/3) and I was wondering what crowds would be like for some rides. We are most likely going to arrive at the park 20-30 minutes prior to opening and were planning on hitting Intimidator first, then Nighthawk, then moving around the park in a counterclockwise pattern all the way to Afterburn. Would Nighthawk have any sort of line issues as being the second ride of the day right around opening, or would the line already become a problem? I can't ride Nighthawk first since I'm going with people who aren't interested in Nighthawk and they want to ride something ride as they get into the park before they wait for me. And are there any other lines that might garner a bit of a line at given points throughout the day? -

^There are various websites online that have cropping abilities. You just need to upload your file, do your editing then downloaded the newly edited photo. You can also use Paint to crop photos by using the selection tool and bringing it around the section you want to keep and then clicking crop at the top. -

TOP 5 B&M INVERTED COASTERS

I've ridden 6, so I guess I'll just throw out my rankings: 1. Banshee 2. Great Bear 3. Patriot 4. Alpengeist 5. Batman The Ride (SFGAM) 6. Batman The Ride (SFSTL) -
It's a very nice start! I'd suggest doing a little more with your spiral slide and merry-go-round. They seem sort of plopped down in there and don't really flow together with the rest of the park. Perhaps add some scenery or fencing around the area to try to make them fit in a bit better? I am liking the architecture though and the way you've been using terrain and trees. It does seem a bit weird that there's this massive forest that abruptly ends though

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
molemaster43 replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Was just at Kennywood yesterday and have some thoughts about the park: - The park is still as nice as ever. Absolutely love the atmosphere and love all the neat little quirks that the park has. - Phantom is still insane. It was a ride that got noticeably better in the afternoon. Never got a chance to do a front row ride, but three rides in the back car are always nice. - Whip is as fun as ever, but a roof on top would be nice - Rode Black Widow for the first time and really enjoyed it. I also love the little theming they have in the queue, but there are parts where the rockwork is broken and Styrofoam is visible - I was surprised to see one of the TVs actually on in the Exterminator queue...oddly enough, the other one in the queue area wasn't on - I wish Thunderbolt wouldn't slow down before the big drop; it would make it absolutely crazy - Odd experience at Ghostwood: we got on right when it opened and were huddled right into the pre-show room. Nothing was happening. The light flickered on for a brief moment, and then we were huddled out and into the stairway. - Noah's Ark is a fun walkthrough, but the fish scenes are absolutely awful. - I was going to ride Auto Race for the first time in years, but I glanced over to it from the Rapids queue and noticed how slow they were going. Bleh, I refused to ride. - Racer was running surprisingly well and it was a lot better than I remembered it being (still wish there weren't seat dividers) - Aero 360 has officially confirmed itself as my favorite flat in the park (still haven't gotten a chance to ride Bayern Kurve, Paratrooper or Turtle, though); with the exception of... - Kangaroo is the best ride ever - Raging Rapids absolutely destroyed all 6 people on my raft. Don't think it has ever gotten me quite like that before. - Pittsburg Plunge was only hit me on the upper half of my body oddly enough...my feet didn't get hit at all - I can understand why they wouldn't run water at the top of Pittsburg Plunge, but it looks nicer and feels right when they do - The building for the new 4D theater actually looks quite nice, even though the fact that there's an Ice Age film playing is annoying - I was surprised to see how well Johnny Rocket's works in its area...it doesn't really interfere with anything - SwingShot is a pretty fun ride, I just wish it was a bit longer so it would feel worth waiting for - Upset that I ran out of time and couldn't do the train, Paratrooper, Turtle or Bayern Kurve; that's what next year's for - The souvenir bottles this year are really nice; while they don't hold as much as the ones that Six Flags has, they are sturdier and have a really nice design on them Overall, Kennywood was great this year! -

The scale seems.....off.... Why is that waterfall/mountain structure so massive and completely dwarfing the Main Street buildings at the front of the park? It just looks so odd and jarring. Also, I can't say that the cake-like structure of the mountain is the best. It's just three tiers with these giant drop offs with no real flow to it. It looks awkward (especially those islands at the top of each tier with trees on them). Also, those row boats are so dang close to a waterfall without any sort of fencing or blocking from keeping those row boats from going right into the waterfall. I'd suggest moving them or putting up fencing and making a larger lake area for the row boats. I also see you have a log flume going through this mountain...this might work a bit better if going through the mountain occurred only once or twice on the ride for fairly short periods of time and if the mountain wasn't as blocky as it is. Otherwise, the flume just seems somewhat far fetched. That being said, I do enjoy the architecture at the front of the park. Vary up your colors a bit, but other than that, it looks good! Lots of room for improvement here, but I definitely do see potential. -

Back to the old grind indeed. Well, I decided one day to start messing around in the RCT2 scenarios and just trying to do what I could to make them into a cool vision. Right now, here's all I got. Don't expect this become a regularly updated thread or anything, but there may or may not be updates, depending on what I am in the mood to do. SCR1.BMP Before SCR2.BMP After...little re tweaking maybe SCR4.BMP Before SCR3.BMP Incomplete, obviously. Probably will be switching this around a bit anyways.

Mad Max: Fury Road...is brilliant. Exciting, fun and easily one of the best action movies of the decade. It's pure madness.

^^I believe that the Joker look isn't the official one for the movie, but was for the 75th anniversary of the character. I think it all looks intriguing...Suicide Squad is a movie that I am very curious about (Would've been more excited if Tom Hardy was still apart of it, but he left for a good reason and a better cause) I can say I am more interested in Suicide Squad than Batman v. Superman

^Yeah, the ending section is a bit mind-jarring. Watching it again helped a good bit, but I can't say I could explain it. Gives me another reason to watch a great movie again!

Hey! I was wondering if you had any special tips or advice for Michigan's Adventure, Six Flags Great America and Kentucky Kingdom. We're hitting the parks on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in June, respectively. Are there any special tips for strategy or getting around the parks efficiently (especially SFGAm...probably gonna ride Goliath first unless something else is a better option)? Also, this might be a stretch in me asking, but would you know of any good restaurants in the areas of the parks (outside of downtown Chicago)? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

Carowinds Discussion Thread
molemaster43 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey guys. I was hoping I could get some advice for a potential Carowinds trip this July (weekday, maybe a Monday). I am going with my parents who are generally fine with heights, but not really with inversions (they want to ride right away instead of me doing rides they wouldn't ride first (ala Nighthawk) while they wait). So...no Nighthawk first. I was thinking most likely Fury 325 first, then Ricochet and clear out the rest of the area and make a big loop around the park to Intimidator. Would this be smart at all, or is there a better idea or strategy for hitting the park and getting Nighthawk and other lower capacity rides in with a minimal line? Thanks to anyone who can help! -
I absolutely loved the latest Star Wars trailer and am REALLY excited to see the movie. Also loved The Hateful Eight teaser...so excited to see one of my favorite director's new project The Batman v. Superman trailer was...underwhelming...it's interesting for sure, but I'm not overly excited or anything...I'm more excited for Ben Affleck's fourth directing effort over his Batman movie...

Recently was able to watch two more of this year's BP noms: Whiplash and The Theory of Everything Whiplash was absolutely phenomenal...the performances, the music, the editing...everything was incredible...EXTREMELY close second behind Birdman for my #1 of 2014 The Theory of Everything was...bad...Redmayne gave a solid physical performance, but the writing in this movie is absolutely horrendous...rather than giving us a nice in-depth account of Stephen Hawking, it skates the surface on various Hawking topics, exploring an uninteresting and generic romance as the main point as opposed to his scientific findings or his disease (very prominent, but not well-told). The lighting in this movie is also atrocious...oh gosh, why does everything have to be so bright whenever there is an ounce of sunshine? It's really annoying and ugly. My least favorite of the BP noms from this past year (still need to see Imitation Game)
