Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Dom497 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cool pics! But I've always questioned the length and height of the coaster. Matcom says that the track is 921 feet long while Wondeland says 1000 feet and news sources say 1092 feet. Also, Matcom says that the height of the lift is 65 feet, while Wonderland said it was 60 (when it was first announced) but in their Guest Assistant Guide says 79 feet! -

No. Not according to park management. Really? Seems like that could lead to sync problems. A heavier train will travel faster and a lighter train will travel slower. Therefore, the video could easily become out of sync as the video can't be sped up or slowed down (or can it?). -

^A user on CW Mania made an animation based on the photos the park released of the trains a while ago. The cars can only rotate 90-degrees in one direction. -

Wait, are you saying that the the 2 sides are different from one another in terms of what is projected on the screens? And Robb, I agree with you about the station. I was thinking about the station last night and I couldn't help but wonder how ironic it is that exactly half of the station is themed. It makes me wonder if they had plans to theme the other half but they just wanted to get the ride opened. Also, inside the mountain is apparently ALL screens and nothing else so there's no physical themeing in the ride anyway. -

Based off the photo, it looks like the cables for the lasers are running through the guard so that's probably why. Also, Wonderland has posted a video showing off all the characters....and we won't be killing Herman! There will be another dragon named Ormaar. The animations also look to be very high quality. Wanna take a POV too? -

I don't live anywhere near Tampa but I was doing a search on Google and some of the UK news sources claim Falcon's Fury is now open. Is this true? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2633786/Nowhere-look-Terrifying-ride-drops-335-FEET-head-60mph-opens-public.html http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/20/dont-look-down-ride-that-drops-you-335-feet-headfirst-opens-to-public-4734290/

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Dom497 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks like Holiday World took the most basic precaution to make sure this thing doesn't leak out. I've looked at the code of the website and I've been able to activate the Day 2/3/4, etc buttons but nothing pops up when you click on them (don't go to website thinking that the buttons work. On Google Chrome you can edit the code of the webpage to do what you want it to do but its only on your computer). Anyway, after a little bit more digging, it seems that the park is manually adding the info day by day. Oh well, I tried. -

^It's ok....I'm excited too! I want to spill the beans as well! I'm not getting a pass this year so it looks like I'm just going to be watching POV's over and over again. PS, I couldn't find a spoiler box option so I'm going to assume there isn't one. -

I'm going to suggest you edit your post because you just defeated the purpose of the spoiler box. You may not have given all the details but I'm sure there a people who want to know nothing until they experience it. But to answer your question, I don't know. They literally just told me "There is a _____________" EDIT: Thanks. -

The only way to figure out the layout NOW, would be to ask for the blueprints from the City of Vaughn....and Wonderland's permission.... Also, does anyone have any pictures of the Thunder Run's exit or even a video of it by an chance? A few days ago on CW Mania, I thought I was on to something in terms of the layout but I need the layout of TR's exit to prove it. -

Well, considering that the media has been always reporting 1092 feet, I'd say that's a significant difference given that with an extra 150+ feet, you can have a lot more interactive dark ride time especially with a slow moving car. -

DISCLAIMER: All info below is coming from Matcom (the company that was responsible for installing the track of WMG). First the bad news: The track isn't anywhere near 1000 feet in length. According to Matcom, it is actually only 921 feet long. Also according to Matcom, the lift is only 65 feet high.....I don't understand this, we've seen 3 different heights mentioned! For the good news, TPR doesn't seem to have a "spoiler" box so I'm just going to link the post I made on CW Mania that will allow you to see the "spoiler" if you want. http://www.cwmania.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=59458#p59458 -

They still do the dive show and the divers haven't used the foot slots in ages. Instead, they just climb up the rocks on the side. -

Ummm, no....it's not pretty finished. They still have lots of work to do....a full test run hasn't even happened yet. Matcom is the company responsible to erect the track/columns. Kubes Steel fabricated the track/columns and another company (their name escapes my mind right now) designed it. Thanks for the update. The plastic could just be to keep dust off the screens given that it's still a construction site. -

According to reports from opening day, the park has poured concrete (or something similar) around the WMG footers making it look like the supports are coming out of the mountain. (no pics yet) I'm sure a lot of us have seen them by now. If you want to see more they are here: -

You should also note that Thunder Run uses a very, very small portion of the mountain. WMG is located in other areas.
