    Thanks for the update, awesome to see how epic the drop is turning out to be with the arches and all! I knew I wasn't the only one wondering what was up with Columbia's roof. I always wondered if they were ever gonna paint the top spire as it was the only part that was left untouched and needed attention besides the roof. Good to know they're giving it more TLC!

    The Games Gallery needs color, it's so dreary and gray. Didn't know all those other buildings are getting paint, great to hear!

    SpongeBob debuted in 2003 during the year when Nickelodeon Splay City got remodeled to Nick Central. So far all the movies that have been in the Action Theater that I remember were: Days of Thunder in '94-97, James Bond 007: License to Thrill in '98-00, 7th Portal 3D in '01-02, Smash Factory '01, A Temple Movie (forget the name) fall of '01, and the Elvira Superstition movie...

    ^I think we spoiled you with our near weekly updates. The only thing left is the station and maintenance shed/brake run and remaining drop, plus of course the queue & landscaping. It should all come together pretty quickly. The construction is on schedule according to CGA and a lot can happen in 6 weeks, but even if it doesn't open on March 29, it'll be opening soon eventually! Your YOLOcoaster catching up reference made me laugh though! Not even close!

    ^ITA. If Vortex were to leave, it would most likely get relocated to a smaller park in the chain. It would kinda be like CGA following it's former sister park again in a way with Iron Wolf being relocated to SFA. Anyways moving away from removals, still wondering what the Invertigarden future will hold......

    As soon as action theatre was built interest started to decline. Became a bad location, if I remember correctly you had to enter through action theaters arcade to get to it. There also wasn't any signage on the path going by it. Actually the entrance was to the side of the arcade, and then you exited through the actual arcade itself by way of a side doorway which also merged with Action Theater's exit. You can still see the old side exit doorway when you go through the arcade which of course is pulled down and closed. I remember working there when both sides of Action Theater were open and there were many times when everyone was exiting at the same time causing a big clusterf**k of people all merging together from both sides of the theater and TW/GL. The location of course was so hidden that there were never any long lines. I remember passing by the long rows of unused switchbacks in the queue in which I would always think to myself would never see the light of day ever again. Then they built the special new entrance next to American Cafe, where Firefall is now, and added a brand new pink 50's sign in celebration of the 25th anniversary which was great, but unfortunately would only last till the end of the season....

    ^^^Amen to that! I'm happy they're paying attention to the details by painting a lot of the faded buildings and such, but covered stations and shaded queues would be a welcomed addition as, yes, it does get hot. Also with the future finally bright and shiny compared to over a year ago, I'm just grateful CF is finally investing in the park and realizing it's potential with the addition of GS, and I look forward to future attractions, whatev(ER) they will be... Nostalgia Corner: Found this retro youtube clip of Top Gun (FD) on and off ride POV from 1996. Notice the regular wheel covers, no Pavilion/parking lot extending all the way to the fence of TG , Showtime Theater was still Theatre Royale, Small footers at the helix finale and the train in operation: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]

    Speaking of paint, some photos from CGA's instagram showing off new paint on Food Festival & the Front Ticket Booths: Great to see them sprucing up all the small details, definitely makes a huge difference.

    Thanks for sharing that pic! I guess I was looking for an American Flag for it to be "officially topped" lol. *UPDATE: according to Ryan, there are two more bents to go till Gold Striker reaches it's peak!

    Weekdays in April after all the schools' Spring Breaks are over are awesome days to go. Last year I practically got to marathon pretty much everything, with the exception of X2 & GL, and the park was only open till 6.

    Alrighty here is my update as promised, taken Wednesday January 23, 2013. Gold Striker/CGA Off-Season Pics/Stadium Pics galore........WARNING: REALLY BIG UPDATE! Bent being installed Lift from a different angle GS & Stadium in the background Cool perspective of FD, Vortex & GS together You can see how low the drop will be to the ground Bent assembly GS through the trees.. GS & Whitewater Falls... Sexy GCI curves... Lookie what we found....More steel track parts! And lift hill anti-rollback parts! One of the workers was singing "I Want To Know What Love Is" at the top of his lungs, I think it was a shout out to us And one more final shot of Goldy.. Went to check out Demon's new painted ladies, I mean loops... Loop, well half a loop Front entrance booths getting new paint! Up close Every little detail helps a lot... More spray markings on the parking lot Stadium view from the disabled parking lot. Taking the San Tomas Aquino Trail along CGA/Stadium while doing geeky Football poses... FD from a different view.. Whitewater Fall boats & what's that in the back? Shark Wheel Covers for FD! Looks like we found the new Boneyard! Old Kiddie rides from back in the day.... AngryGumball knows what this is! Rapids boats+Wave Pool=Cool Combo! Need lamps? They got plenty! Heading back the Stadium greets us from afar For such a small space, it is really massive... New Parking Garage completed... Main entrance... Elevator up for better views? Yes please! New elevator smell! (If only BART's elevators smelled like this...) I see CGA in the background! CLICK CLICK! Awesome view from the new garage! GS already changing the skyline... Noticed all the trees by the exit road all torn down as well... And one more look at the stadium from the top of the new garage...
