  1. Yay Goldy is finally OPEN! At least it did open in May! CGA OFFICIAL TWITTER CONFIRMATION: http://t.co/YofCkwi1NX
  2. Are you hinting that it could open on the 30th? Really confused on what you mean by this.
  3. Exactly, it's like pressing the elevator button a million times, it will come down when it comes down...
  4. Awesome report Joey! Can't wait to see this show in person soon!
  5. Great pics Rick! Goldy will open eventually and when it does I'll be just as happy as the first time I rode it!
  6. Very exciting news and would definitely be a great opportunity for the park to showcase itself. I actually had a conversation with one of the park managers while visiting the park today who mentioned the NFL has visited the park and that there are plans on the table for the park to participate, though much of the activities would be happening in the actual city in SF. 2016 definitely is a milestone year with not only the 50th Super Bowl now officially happening in Levi's Stadium, but CGA also celebrating it's 40th Anniversary. Can't wait to see what will happen!
  7. With the 7 days of promo shoots, I guess I got spoiled!
  8. I see it going under the former train tunnel below Demon!
  9. Rapids & Logger's Run are still big crowd pleasers and plus it would lessen the number of water rides if they removed them. I could see Whitewater Falls going which would leave a lot of real estate for a coaster (a la like the former sister SFGAm) and wrap around, over, next to and/or under the Demon, though you'd have to deal with the offices next door again. Remember CGA is only 100 acres not 300+ like CP, as CP added a newer flume ride with Shoot The Rapids afterwards. I could imagine a coaster being built over the Rapids as well, with a station next to the covered bridge.
  10. Thanks! Glad to hear you had a good time! Regarding the transition from Paramount to CF, even though CF took over in 2006/2007, I feel this year is the year when CF finally took the reigns and is in control (Thank You Ouimet!). With the Stadium/Neighbor issue all cleared up, we finally have a great coaster & CF finally can invest in the future of the park since being blindsided in 09 with the cancellation of the original GCI & pending sale in '11. The future is definitely bright as the GM said!
  11. Happy 50 rides! Overall I was able to get 54 rides throughout the 7 days of promo shoots and I still can't get enough! Again I want to sincerely thank CGA for their great hospitality and the opportunity yet again to be able to experience Gold Striker for yet another week before the grand opening, you guys are awesome!
  12. So that's a little disappointing, although not unexpected. First trip on Sunday and I still get to ride a stack of new-to-me coasters, GS would have been a bonus anyway. Are any of the shows worth checking out? The shows are definitely worth checking out though the only shows that are currently running are Team Charlie Brown in Planet Snoopy & The Magic Hat in KidZville, also there is a Peanuts Party in the Plaza that happens at 5pm behind the Columbia Carousel. The other bigger production shows won't be opening till Summer next month. There is always Karaoke if you're brave enough! On a side note, I'm 2 away from 50 rides on Gold Striker, glad they added 1 more extra day of the promo shoot to ride again, woohoo!
  13. We saw you! Ready for day 6! We'll see if we all can reach a total of 50 rides today!
  14. Thanks for the awesome footage and pics! Gatekeeper looks amazing!
  15. Had another fun time tonight, was only able to get 5 rides in, but getting closer to 50! When we arrived, they were already test cycling the trains early which was a good sign. At first it looked as if they were gonna start at 5, but they kept cycling empty trains over and over. The reason they kept cycling empty trains we were told was that they were still mounting the cameras. We eventually got started 40 minutes later. Unfortunately, Goldy was still a bit temperamental like yesterday, stopping several times, though I have no doubt they'll get all the kinks worked out eventually since obviously it's still a brand new ride. Also, this time around the lines remained consistent till they closed the line early again compared to the other times. Longest wait time was 40 minutes which did include a few downtimes. The icing on the cake was of course finding out they were adding another day to the shoot for this Friday, so 7 days altogether of Striking Gold! If you guys are in the area or live nearby, they definitely still need more people. Until tomorrow!
  16. Had another fun day riding Goldy at the shoot, although she was a bit temperamental today stopping several times, I got to ride double digits thanks to them extending the shoot well past 8 bringing my total rides so far to 37. Looking forward to day 5 and seeing if we can reach the magic 50! On a side note, I'm digging the new "Pony Express tunnel" being erected on the "Prudential turn", definitely will make the airtime in that section more intense!
  17. Can you say deja vu? Registered for all three days again, looking forward to another three rounds and seeing if I can make it 50 rides!
  18. Had an awesome 3 days doing the promo shoot plus meeting new faces from here! 26 rides in all and I still can't get enough! Thanks a billion to the wonderful management team at CGA for this "Golden" opportunity! This ride was a long time coming, but I'm grateful the time has finally arrived and that CGA is finally getting the respect and love it so desperately needed. Looking forward to the rest of the season and the many more years to come!
  19. Enjoying the last of the promo rides! Btw for those wondering here's part of the wall that's been erected so far:
  20. Ready for the final day, and to add to the already 16 rides I've gotten the past 2 days! Can't get enough of this amazing ride! On a side note, they started putting some sort of sound wall with infill under the track by the "Prudential turn" closest to the offices. Either it's going to be just a wall or perhaps another tunnel, we shall soon find out...
