  1. I finally got a chance to read the last 2 installments of your TR. What an exciting trip! There was no shortage of ups and downs or laughs along the way. Too bad the food was for the most part mediocre to unacceptable. I went on a Princess cruise about 9 years ago and the food was the same way which was disappointing. The last part about the port bus driver leaving you high and dry - OMG!! That's crazy! What a relief that your sweet pupper is OK after not doing so well during boarding. She seems like a real sweetheart and I love your descriptions of how you've managed things at home to make sure she's safe and happy. Having an animal that needs extra TLC can be stressful at times but I believe it enriches the soul. Not everyone is up to the task so kudos to you for being such great dog parents Guess I was the only one who got the abbreviation for FFBFWMAG hahaha. Can't wait to see your TR from Cedar Point! It's an incredible park and if you're staying at Hotel Breakers, well, you're in for a real treat!
  2. Those ruins are really are beautiful! I love the shot of everyone on the pyramid and the one of "bears on ruins are gonna pose!" seriously made me LOL. How big of a place was Cahal Pech, would you say? The picture you got of the ship from the speedboat looks like it belongs on a cruise website. Arlene's towel... bat?... needs a bit of work to compete with the too cool for school rabbit/dog with shades a few doors down from you! On an excursion in Italy I was on many years ago there was a HUGE cluster-fk that pretty much ruined our day and people were furious. We now laugh about it but at the time it was really horrible. Similar to your excursion, nobody mentioned the 2.5 hour long bus ride... each way... and the lack of food... and something happened with the computer system so the excursion was double booked which they didn't realize until morning-of when tons of people rendezvoused for the tour. Luckily there was an extra bus for whatever reason but where we went was jam packed with people which made it difficult to enjoy since we were squished like sardines. Oh yeah, the kicker was our bus wasn't working right so there was no AC on an over 100 deg. sunny day for the entire 5 hours we were on the bus and we all melted. I mean absolutely melted. Good times!
  3. ^ You'll be just fine with the Gold FP. Make sure to spend the time to go on the Safari!! It's absolutely worth it!
  4. YEAH!!! That's awesome! Has Ninja been operating today? How crowded is the park? Any tips for a first timer? Well Tatsu is now operating - thanks to coasternut for posting - so that's great news on my end. In looking at the operating schedule it appears that SFMM is preparing to be open for spring break starting the weekend after you and I will be there... so hopefully that means low crowds for us. I won't be back at the park for another decade or more so am really looking forward to getting on as much as I can. I need to search this thread a little bit to see if I can find the recommended ride order for visiting the park!
  5. Would 3/25 be considered daily operation for Tatsu? Sounds like next weekend it will still be closed if Screamscape is correct which is a bummer for me since I love flyers, have never ridden it, and will be there 3/19.
  6. Since we will only be there for 1 day and they close at 8pm we'll be getting the Platinum FP in order to make sure we get on everything. We will be driving from Las Vegas so getting up at o'dark thirty to be there for park opening. Learning that they only allow a single ride all day on 5 coasters and X2 is an uncharge does leave a sour taste in my mouth but at least I know beforehand. A friend who works at Universal (where I'll be going the following day) said it's spring break the weekend I'll be there so I'm expecting huge crowds as it'll be a Saturday and then Sunday at Universal, but maybe the coaster gods will be on my side at MM. At Great Adventure they have The Joker 4D coaster available only on Platinum. Not sure if it's a single ride all day like MM or if you can re-reserve it but there are no upcharges for any rides. If you get the Platinum pass though you don't get to ride twice in a row without getting up on Zumanjaro and Kingda Ka due to low capacity, however you can just re-reserve it and walk around to ride it again. Everything else you can ride as much as you want. We only did Platinum once at Halloween, otherwise have made out very well with Gold. Driving all the way up from DC 1-2x/yr we try to make it worth the trip and tolls lol.
  7. Timely post as I'll be visiting Magic Mountain in a little over a week for the first time in 17 years! Great to read about the park and what you liked or didn't like. I didn't realize that only some of the rides allow re-rides even with a Flash Pass. That's kind of a bummer. Glad you had a good time!
  8. Absolutely loving this TR, Bert! It's a really fun read and I spent about 5 minutes laughing out loud about the swim suits and your comments. So very sorry to hear about your mother's sudden passing but I absolutely believe she was with you in spirit on the cruise. <3
  9. +1 on the giraffe feeding. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it!
  10. Is the pre-season single or 2-day ticket special going to be going on until the first day of the season or is it only for the next week or two? A family member and I are trying to get a quick trip planned for June but we don't have it on the books, and it would be a waste if it didn't work out as Boyfriend and I have Platinum Passes.
  11. I took the Sunrise Thrills tour last year and it was outstanding! I did ask our guide about FL pass caps and he said "When the FL lines hit 45-60 mins we stop selling passes." Considering we were there a couple years ago on July 4 and several FL lines were in that time frame and people were being told they were sold out, it sounds reasonable to me. Now, however many wristbands would be sold to create that I have no idea.
  12. I just got an email from SFMM about a 48 he lunch & snack meal deal. This is what we purchased last year at GAdv and it was great. Our passes are for GAdv, can anyone help me figure out how to get the lunch and snack deal thru that park? No idea why SFMM is sending me stuff. I'll be there for the first time in 15+ years next month but my home park is GAdv. Any help, codes, links, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thx!
  13. I've read through this TR few different times and am eagerly awaiting the update on the much talked about Countdown Party! TRs take a big chunk of time to write about and I can't even imagine how many pictures you have to sort through. Looking forward to reading about your final adventure... whenever that may be!
  14. I have no idea if that exists, if it does I certainly never found it but one can hope!
  15. I haven't checked this page in a while because it was a dumpster fire but all this talk of Millennium Force is awesome! It's been my favorite coaster since I rode it in May 2000. It still hauled ass last year when I went to CP which is amazing. The lift hill is a thing of beauty, the station music, the comfortable trains, the drop right next to the lake, airtime hills and uninterrupted speed galore! Love, love, love it. JRice - did you ask to be reassigned or did they pull you off MF? Congratulations to everyone else who is getting a position at CP, hope to see you there this summer!
  16. Thanks for the hot tip on the super sale tickets!! Just got 2.
  17. I also watched your segment and enjoyed it! You have a wonderful way of speaking that makes things exciting and informative. I was especially interested to hear about how Shanghai DL's castle is positioned strangely and you can't really walk through it like the others. I had no idea about that based on your TR. Thanks for sharing your interview with us!
  18. Amen! I thought of this too after the last picture was posted a few days ago.
  19. The Lost Nugget Mine flume sketch is awesome! We can hope...!!
  20. I'm really loving all the paintings and various artwork. Some of the pieces are absolutely fantastic!!!
  21. Everything about the last update was fascinating and funny and cool and crazy! And having to buy another suitcase to tote all the stuff home is hilarious!! The Baymax tissue box holder is seriously awesome.
  22. Those pictures are really strange and depressing! Thanks for sharing.
  23. ^I love WT because it's such a strong yet short ride. As killer as the back is, we love sitting in the front because I swear to god it looks like you're going to fly right off the end of the track! Super fun
