Kolmården Discussion Thread
krakenmaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wait I know what it is!!! Its 75 HUSS Topple Towers themed to a forest and they spin at 75 mph, and a fire builds and builds up the towers and around the "forest", through out the ride cycle until everyone is on fire. Then all of the Towers actually topple to the ground, all destroyed, an we have to wait another 5-6 years for the new towers to grow in. -
Kolmården Discussion Thread
krakenmaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If it is a drop tower, it will be something crazy like Falcon Fury, but instead of flipping 90 degrees vertically at the top, you will spin 180 degrees horizontally. So you drop head first upside-down!! -
I would love to see a "behind the scenes" on all things RMC, the designs, the ideas, the manufacturing, the transformations, the technology. And I think seeing how a classic wooden coaster is made, ex. manufacturing track onsite, would be great. Lastly the Intamin Plug-n-Play track intrigues me, I would love to see how it first came to be and how they make the track.

^I think it either could be a new water-slide at Splash Country, or the long speculated drop tower that Dollywood have been rumored to get since Timber Tower left. The drop tower would go with the theme of FCE, and/or Thunderhead, because isn't it themed to like a forest or something with trees? Also WF backwards would be awesome!!!

YAY Survivor thread!!! I have enjoyed the season thus far. I absolutely love Brice I think he is definitely the best strategic player on Beauty. Also for Brawn I think Woo and Cliff have the best chance of making it far. Woo I think will be the quiet brains and planner of that alliance and Cliff will be the talker and executor. If they work like that, and get some more people in on it post-merge, I think they will be able to go very far. And I have a feeling that this will be another case of Philippines where one tribe looses everything and the last two on that tribe will make it far post-merge, like Malcolm and Denise. Who will those two people be? I don't know, but i really like Spencer, he looks like he can survive the elements and the actual surviving of survivor, I don't know yet but i think he is decent in challenges, and he is smart. But this season could go anywhere at this point. We just have to wait and see!!!

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
krakenmaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is kind of off topic but on the KD website it doesn't show I305 as one of the included attractions for Fast-lane. And there wasn't Fast-lane Plus anywhere on the page. Does anyone know if I305 is still available with fast-lane? -
Best Ride at Universal Orlando?
krakenmaniac replied to The Yeti's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For the Studios my favorite roller coaster is Mummy. I love the dark ride portion and just full of all around fun. my favorite non-roller-coaster is MIB. I absolutely LOVE this ride, full of surprises, competition, thrill, and just an absolutely perfect ride for what it is. For IOA its hard. I probably have to go with Spider-man for the overall ride. The first time I rode it I was in awe with the finale. It blew my mind, the story the thrill the technology, but that drop though. -
Thank you so much for this information! And also on the website, for fast-lane, it doesn't say that I305 is on there, yet in the info it says that there is no front seat access to I305 while using fast-lane. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Hey, my family is doing a DC trip over spring break (April Sat. 5- Sat. 13), and were throwing in a day at Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion as well. We are arriving at DC airport in the evening on the 5th, so we will just relax that night at the hotel. Then the next 4-5 days we will do DC stuff. We will also do Jamestown for part of one of those days. And then either Thursday or Friday we will do Busch Gardens. (The day that we don't go to BGW we will just relax and maybe do a little DC stuff that day) -Does anyone have any DC suggestions? Questions for Busch Gardens: -Which day should we go Thursday or Friday? -How to maneuver around the park(what order should we hit the rides in). We want to do all of the coasters, Mach Tower, Darkastle, and a few flats. -Any good food places. -Any hidden Gems, like a cool animal exhibit, or something like that. -Crowds? We are driving from DC to KD the day we go (Saturday, April 12), so that will be an early morning for us. I am pumped for this day because I timed everything perfectly that if I ride all of the 5 Major coasters at BGW, then my 100th credit will be I305! Then we will sleep in Richmond and fly out at 1:00 the next day. Kings Dominion Questions: -How to maneuver around the park(what order should we hit the rides in). We want to do all of the coasters, and most of the flats. -Is fast-lane worth it (Three people). I would like to get many re-rides on the major rides. -Crowds? I know this is a lot. And you don't have to answer all of it. But thank you in advance if you do help. This is our biggest trip of the year, and I am pumped! thank you Drew -Pumped to get his 100th credit- Baker

Combining Two Ride Concepts
krakenmaniac replied to Woodie Warrior's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would love to see a trackless shooter. I don't know what this could be themed to, but wouldn't it be awesome if a group of 3-4 cars go at a time, and the first room would be a training, they would go in their own kind of "pod" and do practice shots. Then the next few rooms each "pod" would be something different and the cars would swap pods in each room so every car gets all a chance to bet the Equal amount of points. Then each car goes in-front of a screen and it is revealed that the other cars are enemies, and the next room is like the "dancing room" in Poohs Honey Hunt where like 7-8 cars can be there at once, and it is a battle royal! Cars would spin-out if they get shot a certain amount of times, and thy could hide behind a wall, it would be crazy. When the battle is over there would be the normal high-scores: Best in car, Best this hour, best this day. After all of that is said there will be a winning car in each group and that car could go to one more scene just like congratulating them and that kind of thing, And they would unload in a separate area too. -
Most ludicrous height restrictions
krakenmaniac replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think this is ludicrous but what I do find very surprising is that Mindbender at SFOG is only 42 in. (in a good way) I know most of it is about the restraints, but that is one of the most intense coasters I have ever been on and I went on it when I was 6! Granted I didn't know what to expect, but on the loops and the inverted helix/dive to the waterfall my head slammed downward to my chest and I wasn't strong enough to lift it up. I do think that its awesome that it is so low, and its a great coaster for your first loop, but the forces were just a bit too much for me at six. -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
krakenmaniac replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Some ideas I had: -An UP themed ride that has the Forbidden Journey Technology. There is a new adventure that Mr. Fredricksen and Russel are saving up for and they are allowing us to go with them. They rig up some balloons on a "bench" and we are off! There could be a storm, encounters with Doug and Kevin, and more just crazy stuff happening. I think this would be more dome screen based but there could be some physical sets in there. -A trackless shooter. After all of that is said there will be a winning car in each group and that car could go to one more scene just like congratulating them and that kind of thing, And they would unload in a separate area too. -After I saw the remake of Race to Witch Mountain, i said it could make an awesome ride (even if the movie wasn't that great).I thought it could make a cool Mummy-esqu ride with small individual cars being taxis, with lots of show scenes, or a star tours type simulator ride. -
The Official TPR Video Thread!
krakenmaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never new it was even possible to "hot wire" a roller coaster. WTF!!!!!! And those cars looked like they were almost going to tilt off the track!! -
Im going to Magic Mountain on January 19 and we are getting gold Flash Passes. I was just wondering if any of yall had tips to maneuver around the park. And I heard from Screamscape (yes I know Screamscape) that X2 was not going to be open when Im there. But just to make sure, Does anyone know what's going on and if it will be open on the 19? Thanks!

Funniest Ride Experiences
krakenmaniac replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was on Goliath at SFOG with my friends and my friend saw a park map coming at him on the hill before the hammer-head, and he CAUGHT IT. We were cracking up the rest of the ride. After the ride we heard some people talking about there map flying out of there hands in the exit ramp and we gave them there map. -
My family will be going to SFMM on January 12th. We will be getting a gold Flash Pass. I have looked at the map and the park looks really confusing and the rides are very spread out. If anyone has a good plan of attack for the park. We want to do all of the major coasters and Lex Luther. Thank you.

And with the park discounts can I get them for my family?

If I sign up and pay for Club TPR today will I get the benefits until today, next year, or will I have to renew it in January?

Top Roller Coaster Myths & Rumors!
krakenmaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know if this is about roller coasters but I have heard lots of weird things about Disney, like the froze Walt`s head and that there is a fully functional city under the property. Also I know Walt has an apartment at Disney but I have heard that it is in Space Mountain. -
If anyone watches Survivor, this is a thread to discuss about the season as it goes on.

Thanks. Also another question, where do you get the praised cheese soup that you guys keep raving on?!?
