  1. Yes indeed! It''s run by these awesome zany people that take amazing pride in mustard. mustardmuseum.com/ Screw UW, I should go to Poupon U!
  2. Okay, quick backstory. Located very near me is the National Mustard Museum. It's one of those quirky, unique, and very cool places run by awesome people who take mustard very seriously. Recently, the museum has run into some financial trouble and was looking for help. They got it from a very unlikely source. A national animal rights organization is offering to help the struggling National Mustard Museum by spreading the message: "Meat doesn't cut the mustard." After learning the museum was having financial trouble, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, better known as PETA, wrote to museum curator Barry Levenson on Thursday offering to buy an ad featuring a photo of a sexy "Lettuce Lady" that the museum would prominently display. The woman would be shown eating a veggie dog with mustard and the caption would read: "Meat Doesn't Cut the Mustard. Try Veggie Dogs! PETA." Ingrid Newkirk, PETA's president, also offered to provide the museum with veggie dogs or cocktail-size samples to give out. "While your whimsical displays and mouthwatering condiment samples add to a perfect family outing, we hate to see that delicious mustard slathered on waist-expanding, artery-clogging meat," Newkirk wrote. Levenson was amused by the offer and said he is glad to entertain it. The Middleton shop and mustard collection sells hot dogs and brats in its gift shop and would be open to offering veggie dogs, too. Levenson said he doesn't think the group is asking him to stop selling meat. "We don't want to offend anyone, but I look at it as something belonging in the museum," he said. "A lot of people think of mustard as for hot dogs and don't think of mustard as something to go with vegetables," Levenson said. "And one of the parts of our mission is to educate people as to the many uses of mustard. I don't think that requires us to take sides." He isn't sure how large PETA's ad would be, but said he likes its design. "It's a really cool, eye-catching ad." Last week, the museum was given more time to pay off its $200,000 loan from the county. "We're going to make it," Levenson said. The help is appreciated, but the marketing seems rediculous to me. Thoughts?
  3. Let's see... 2 days into the new semester and I already feel overwhelmed. Calculus 3, University Physics, and Animal Biology all in one term. Yipe. Only 4 months of suffering and I survive (hopefully passing too).
  4. The two that I enjoy the most are Five Finger Death Punch and Skrillex. I like all sorts of different music too, but I love me some heavy rock and dubstep!
  5. The list includes: Five Finger Death Punch shirt Wisconsin shirt Boise State Shirt Gears 3 shirt (I don't even own the game. ????) Saint's Row The Third Assorted candy And, well... Finally! =D
  6. Oh boy, this is where my dirty little secret comes out. Let's see if I can do this... Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari, Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure, Elfen Lied, School Days, Fullmetal Alchemist, Highschool of the Dead, and Demon King Dimao so far. I'm always looking for more! (Man I feel dirty. )
  7. MythBusters is amazing to watch (kinda wish Adam or Jamie were my father), Man v. Food is very entertaining, and World's Dumbest is hilarious. Add in a little gory awesomeness that is 1000 Ways To Die and that rounds out the top of my lineup. Also, pretty much anything on MTV = ACK
  8. I had to work outside collecting carts at the grocery store today. I guess stupid people need to eat too, because I often hear ridiculous things at work. Today, however, was worse than usual. It was a long, wet day in the dairyland. The carts are outside in the rain. You'd think people would think of this. But then I hear people complaining inside "Aw, why is my cart all wet?" Seriously? And then a lady walks up to me and goes "Excuse me, can I get a dry cart please?" Oh, silly me, I was taking them from the *wet* cart storage. Then you get people who walk ALL the way across the lot to our workstation and go "Ugh, a line of carts is blocking my car. Move it for me." They do realize they can just move them by themselves right? Not even a long line, just a few right behind their car. Woulda been less effort to move them yourself right there. *Sigh* fine, it's incredibly busy and I'm not on carts right now. Let me take care of you first instead of all the other people waiting in line for me to put their groceries in their cars. Then we have grocery carts scattered EvErYwHeRe. People could just put them in the cart corrals where they belong. But no. They're in the walkways. They're on the grass islands. They're in the middle of the lot. They're way off in the fricken boonies where no one's even parked (WTF?). There's a buttload of them at the bus stop a quarter-mile away. Then they get mad when I block traffic for a few seconds to get them so you can use them. Also, not sure what it is, but people can NOT drive at a grocery store. Sundays are especially bad. People driving the wrong way. People swerving around backing cars instead of stopping. People backing into rows of *bright red* carts that they just walked past to get to their car. People parking in the walkway directly in front of the sign that says NO PARKING IN THE WALKWAY. Not to mention the time someone backed up into me as I was walking with a line of carts and got sandwiched between them. I guess the fluorescent orange vest blinded her? At least she got out to make sure I was okay. Oops, check that. She got out to yell at me that I hit her car and to check for (nonexistent) dents. Oh well, $9 an hour isn't too bad.
  9. Those Target Two-Day Sale commericals. My God are those just *painful* to watch. Gouging out my eyes and ripping out my ears sound like the only reasonable option.
  10. Well, I'd figure I'd man up a little bit and do a 5K tomorrow. It's not nearly as impressive as running half marathons on a NASCAR track, but it's something I guess. Afterwards I can eat until I burst and (hopefully) watch a Packer win. Last time I ran a 5K it was about 28 minutes. I'm hoping to drop it to around 25-26 minutes now that I know what to expect. Sound reasonable? Edit: 23:47, a fourth place finish, and a Packer victory. It went about as well as I could hope. =D
  11. Heart of Courage -- Two Steps From Hell Seriously? Probably the most epic song I've ever heard. It puts all others to shame. Truly amazing.
  12. ^Wow, that's a crappy start to a weekend (especially since there's always a decent chance it will happen to me at work). Hope you're okay!
  13. I can't wait to see what new and exciting ideas await us this year at IAAPA. Thank you guys for providing an in-depth look of the whole thing for nerds like me. Much appreciated!
  14. Mountain Dew Game Fuel - Tropical. MMMM, that was some good stuff.
  15. ^^ Well, last night after seeing Paranormal Activity 3, she wanted to go to a haunted road nearby. On the way there she challenged me to try to scare her, so of course I took her up on it. She turned her back for a second and I dashed back and ducked behind the car (pitch black, middle-of-nowhere, scary trees lining the road) and waited. After I let her sweat for a few minutes, I snuck up behind her with my hood up and started doing my best creeper breathing. Poor girl nearly dropped right there. She did enjoy it though. It wasn't a complete waste. We both saw a black ball/object zip past us, so there *might* have been someone there with us.
  16. Having a girlfriend is awesome! She likes me a lot, even though I nearly scared her to death last night. Here's hoping to a nice, fulfilling relationship!
  17. Well, I had never gone to the movies to see a 'true' horror movie, so when my new girlfriend ( ) took me to see Paranormal Activity 3 last night, I was pretty freaked. Luckily for me, I handled it very well and, wouldn't you know it, actually enjoyed it! It wasn't complete and utter gripping terror throughout, but there were a few parts that got my heart doing double-time. It had enough scares in it to keep everyone on the edge and some were even pretty entertaining. Still, that sheet scene with the babysitter was downright freaky.
  18. Well, my date went pretty darn well. Does LoneRider finally have a female accomplice? We'll see...
  19. I've got a date tonight. HO LY CRAP.
  20. Amnesia is quite the horrifying game. Just in time for halloween too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOkX53_ba6U&feature=related
  21. Let's see, there a few games that have caught my attention. Someone said Rage was pretty great and Gears 3 looks too good not to at least try. Then again, Battlefield 3 is coming out very soon and the trailer made it look VERY cool. Decisions, decisions...
  22. Living in Madison, WI (aka Best Bike City), I have clocked quite a few miles around the lake here. I find cycling to be a good, low-impact break from running daily. I am doing it at least once a week now until winter rears it's ugly head. Just yesterday I rode 25 miles and my goal is to ride 50 miles in a day. There is a path nearby that is 62.2 miles one way, so it may be something I check out in the future. I find it a fun way to get from A to B. There is nothing like whipping through the city on a sunny day. The only problem is wind. I have learned to hate even the tiniest breezes when I ride, and, going around a lake, they have become quite a familiar foe.
  23. I've got a question for those on here who are aerobic-savvy. After running next to never in high school, I started running on a daily basis last December. As of now I'm running over 5 miles a day (most I've ran is 7.22 miles) at around 8.5 mph. I'm not training to run any races, but I've been trying to push myself longer and harder. I'm up to around 36 minutes a day. What I want to know is if it is worth pushing myself for longer distances or higher speed? I am 6'2" and around 170 pounds right now and I more or less want to maintain that weight (or drop slightly if I could). Is it fine to just run around 5 miles every day or is is better to go longer and faster in order to get in better shape? Is it bad to keep the same routine for a long time? The only thing holding me back are my knees; if I run too fast for too long they ache like nothing else I've felt. Any good alternatives, like running hills or an incline for a while instead of straight running? Some feedback would be appreciated. Until then I will be running like the wind.
  24. Back For More by Five Finger Death Punch. This is one hell of a pump up song for me, so listening to it at 10:30 at night is probably a bad idea. Next will be First of the Year (Equinox) by Skrillex. Gotta get my dubstep on.
  25. Japanese animes. Tenchi Muyo was awesome back in the day on Cartoon Network, and it had been a good 10 years since I had seen it. Then I saw some guys watching on a computer in school the other day and wondered if it was online. Now I'm re-addicted to it. Highschool of the Dead is pretty amazing too. Currently looking for more.
