  1. Don't worry i'll cover cyclone in part 2, it's on the way . actually just wrote it but i accidentally navigated away from the page after going through 50 pictures, and now i have to do it all over again. oh, well guess that's life
  2. Thank you for the reply! i had quite a good day even though it was in the mid-50's the whole time. The crews were good except for Cyclone but we'll get to that later...
  3. Hello everyone! on April 18th, i went to my first amusement park of the year and only though that it would be appropriate to use it for my first photo trip report. I apologize for posting this so late, i was so busy with school and other things to take the time to post this until now. I was there two days after their "new" mouse from Kentucy Kingdom and the newly re-tracked Cyclone which was running really well. Bizarro, Bat-mouse, Batman were also running really well that day. Thunderbolt was closed and getting re-tracked which was good i guess because it really needed it as you can see in a few of the photos, oh well, i'll come back another day to get the credit. It was pretty cloudy today, so please excuse some pictures that were ruined by the weather. Anyways, onto some photos now: Hello, Mr. Cyclone! Top of the mornin' to ya'! One of my favorite pictures i took that day. I found the line cutting sign quite...well..Interesting! Yup that's the train. Your butt goes in that Just in case you forget what park your at. I immediately noticed the new wood atop Thunderbolt this wouldn't be a six flags park without a tall phallic object! It was nice to see six flags taking care of their oldest woodie These men were gradually giving it wood The structure looked pretty dilapidated. Foghorn says sit the hell down or he'll beat you to death with a wooden spoon I mean seriously, Wht is it with six flags and their phallic objects?!?! New hotness is the first thing you see when you walk down the stairs now. Bizarro is still the star of the show and was running awesome today! it's now my new #1 without a doubt. Although i admit the first drop and speed bump finale was better on the other two. The first airtime hill and this drop were the real highlight of the ride for me, It was a real gut-buster! Signature shot! although i think everyone must have this one Three trains in one shot! This ride was a lot of fun the whole thing was unbraked until the big drop and was a helluva lot of fun If you go down the handicap ramp, bizarro flies right over you! The speed humps really deliver! although i thought Darien Lake's were still better. Bizarro....though Bizarro! Can you ever have to many pictures of this ride? That hill was ridiculous in the frontseat. I still need to go to germany for the best steel coster in the world. Laviola! Airtime! Signature Shot! Onto the new hotness. It looked vewy pwettay! It really rounds out the coaster collection in the superhero area, saw tons of kids riding it with there parents One of the ride's turns. The make you get VERY comfortable with your riding partner! Everyone really seem to love the new ride. Didn't see one person on it who wasn't smiling. You're probably all wet now. I don't want to try to write a caption for this photo! Hot Wheels! The themeing wasn't universal quality by any means, but i still think it was very nicely done and it didn't have to be over-the-top to be nice. The ride was non-stop fun The cars were very cool. They were all themed to different batman villans. This is the two-face car People who say these train don't track well have no idea what they are talking about. This ride was as smooth as a little swiss baby's bottom like every other intamin. And the restraints don't "kill the airtime" or anything stupid like that. Obviously i can't vouch for people of all sizes as i am skinny, but i only noticed the lapbar in the station, lift, and brakes. The airtime still lifted me out of my seat and these restraints are far more comfortable than the old restraints that were on the ride from 2004-2008. Since there are no bars and shin gaurds digging into your legs, there is alot more room. The original T-bars are still superior, but these restraints were still very comfortable Yeah, the kiddie coaster. should have rode it, but didn't. oh well, i wasn't feeling like a whore today anyways. :3 Ouuiiiiii!! More hot airtime action! The trains just fly over these two hills! Batman's hiding in there somewhere Even the joker thinks poop is funny The scarecrow car. There was alot of mist machines on this ride. Now you all can live out your fantasies of "riding" in catwoman! Theres quite alot of wanted signs around the queue. It reminded me of the signs leding up to batwing's area at six flags america The finale is the big drop i through the mist into the ace chemical plant See! It was a fun drop. I was riding with my sizeable friend nate and the lapbar only closed the the first ratchet. i had a good 7 inches of space and got practically ejector air on every drop! So at the top these signs are on the edge of every turn and you get a good look at it before being whipped around the turn! it's quite cool for six flags theming! I really like this picture of the train in the tunnel. Coaster nerds, get the tissues! This is a box. Some say leprechauns live inside it and run on little hamster wheels to power the coaster. Bizarro is still going fast and furious. The speed just never lets up! although i will admit Geforce and the Mega-Lites look better, Bizarro is still an amazing ride and will continue to be my #1 until i can ride those other coasters. I'm in lesbians with it! <3 So these mystery footers were in the lawn next to the coaster. I assume they were for the Dark Knight coaster or something Photos of the resident flora. Only two cars weren't on the tracks today. The operations were the fastest in the park still, i was only in the line for say 10-15 minutes which isn't bad at all for being a brand new coaster. Another one of the signs at the top of the ride Sounds like a painful place to be These cars were the Joker and Riddler cars. The riddler car. The joker car. This one was my favorite as far as looks go. That's not very funny Well, maybe in Kentucky Another view of the ongoing work on thunderbolt Horray for re-tracking Kinda crummy that you can see all the power supplies, but it is cool because you can see how they supply power to the coaster. All the lift hill enthusiasts need tissues, stat! And i'll end part 1 with this cool-ass gear i saw the will make the lift hill enthusiasts even wetter than they already are. Well, if you've come this far thank you for reading part 1! please excuse the little white borders around the pictures, i cropped these as quickly and as best as i could. Anywho, stay tuned for part 2 of this TR featuring the newly re-tracked cyclone, newly re-painted mind eraser, batman, rides from astroworld, & more!
  4. I haven't been on Geforce yet, But i did ride Bizarro back in april an it was running very well-even in the cold mid-april weather. I havent been able to make it to Germany yet to ride the amazing Expedition Geforce, but Bizarro was awesome. The Forces were insane and the ride rode smooth as glass.
  5. ^ Interesting post. totally jealous of your ride of Gebirgsbahn, Yes i'm a schwarzkopf fanboy :3 It's really cool how similar that ride was to Magic Mountain's Revolution. The trains and the track construction are so similar and while Revolution's trains got butchered, Gebirgsbahn kept it's two-point rolling stock. The same trains that were on Revolution!
  6. If you mean venus, it's a maurer sohne and Schwarzkoph was a consultant for that coaster and aided in the design. The track, trains, brakes, etc are all VERY similar to the track, trains, brakes, etc on Schwarzkopf's very last coaster which was in japan but now operats at Wonder Island in Russia
  7. Actually, they are already up on his website. theres a link in his signature.
  8. Thanks for the other pics, it looks really nice at that park.
  9. Yes i've hear of that one also. It's nice that there is a looping star and shuttle in the same place it's better than NE USA :/ , you know, as far as Schwarzkopfs go. back in the 80's, Laser was even down there! it went to Dorney, and now it's traveling in Germany but i think that one used to be at Playcenter as well.
  10. Those are some great picture! i wish there was a few more of Katapul, but any new pictures of this park are great since i's so far away. One day i will eventually make the trek down to brazil so i can ride the original schwarzkopf shuttle. I kida missed it by 22 Years at KD! Yeah i'm quite the schwarzkopf fanboy The rest of the park looks well worth the vist too, there's a nice mix of other rides. I need to get out to africa to to ride golden loop as well. It's sort of comforting to know that with all the Schwarzkopf shuttles that have been destroyed that the two originals are still with us, They both look like they have finally found good homes as it's been in brazil longer than it was at Alton towers or KD. And the other also looks like it's found a great home too, they both fit very well in their parks and it seems there have been no noise or height complaints anymore . But overall-good trip report, there are some really excellent photos on there. I especially like the POV shot on Evolution, It's just gorgeous. The rest are great quality as well. Worth the read too!
  11. Accordingly from RCDB: The Jupiter can been seen briefly in the 1994 movie Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla.
  12. The reason Venus probobaly feel so much like a schwarzkopf is because schwarzkopf was a consultant for Venus, Maurer Sohne's second ever-coaster. He and a few others from his team helped develop Venus. In Fact, that unique track that Maurer has become so famous for using was actually designed by Schwazkopf. It was used on his very last coaster, the 1991 built "Andalusia Railroad" at Kure Portopialand.
  13. To Me it looks like the oaster won't follow the old path though the village verbatum. It will for the first 2/3 turns it looks but then it cuts across and goes back beyond the old village site. Just my interpretation of the overhead view, If you look at aerial shots of BBW's site when it was there, this coaster appears to extend out of those bounds with the show building. That's just my thoughts, there really is no telling until Busch officially announces something or there has been some serious construction progress underway.
  14. This is funny seeing this, i just saw all the leaked concept art and schmatics on BGEfans yesterday. It looks great to me, although the last drop will be bigger the BBW's it looks like it will follow the exact same profile. and i think it was a great choice of Busch to choose Drachen Fire's site for ths show building. Imagine, it would block views and be very cumbersome if it was up front-so it's better to have it far away. And since it's back in the old DF site- where busch had problems because it's a crappy location for a coaster (in retrospect to main paths and it's distant location) Busch can use the land for their new ride while still having the entrance in a convienent spot. Everything about this ride looks great to me, i was expecting Intamin to do this since they were doing Cheetah Hunt as well but I am more than content having the same company that built Jetline, BMRX, and Lisebergbanan working on this.
  15. So that is some really questionable concept art. It's hard to imagine a spinner as Cheetah Hunt. anyways it looks like a great ride. I can now look forward to my future laps in July I'm even more happy to see how quick the wait time lightened up, looks awesome. I especially like how secluded, and mysterious it is compared to Busch's other coasters. Gwazi, Kumba, Montu, and Shiekra are right up there in your face where as cheetah hunt kind of "lurks" in and out of the serengeti. This thing seriously looks better than most new steel coasters, Busch have really furfilled one of the things i always look for in a steelie, Beauty. Intamin really went above and beyond just creating a "good ride" and made a living, breathing piece of steel art. Not many companies strive for that anymore. Yeah....I have a feeling i'm gonna like this one alot! See you in July, Cheetah Hunt (and new Gwazi trains! )
  16. 1. Do you think it even needs updating at all? Not at all, i'm usually on the front page for only a minute at the most then jump to forum/updates/etc. 2. What elements of the front page do you really LIKE, and would hate to see go away and/or change. I love the randomizer and wouldn't want to see it go, or changed. I would perfer it not to go to modern updates because it's opened me up to many of your older updates and they're interesting and fun to read. It also helps kill boredem 3. What elements do you feel are MISSING from the front page? Nothing i can think of 4. What other changes would you suggest? Nothing. It's easy to use and navigate on, really inviting and attractive...yeah etc,etc P.S.- i actually would like the black background to stay, Mostly because it doesn't burn my eyes out of the sockets like some other websites do. That's actually one of the things i really like about the front page and the rest of the site is the color scheme that doesnt kill my eyes when i go on it.
  17. Totally reminds me of IOA. Entrance street, check, large impressive launching coaster over water, check, large stone-type theme..check! I am totally jealous of that new Maurer because i loved Hollywood in florida. It was just plain awesome, besisdes the music the did noting and the assigned seating that denied me front seat. I wonder how this one will feel with a launch instead of a lift, looks very similar to hollywood with that fake loopy thinggy. Yeah, this park definetly needs shade though but is looks very nice aside from that.
  18. Just watched it via BG facebook and i totally agree! it looks fantastic! now will everyone can shut the hell up about it being slow. The pull-ups into the hills look like they'll pull some nice G's an the trick-track looks very disorientating! cant wait to try it in July
  19. I known NTAG is the main topic here, but this really puts my hopes up now for Rattler. since the Texas giant's drop was raised so much, i think (and am really hoping!) that they will restore Rattler's amazing first drop and make the rest of it into an awesome coaster
  20. So does this mean that Wieland is going to help them refurbish it? I'd love for this to still be in europe when i go eventually. This is relieving, i was almost certain it was going to get scrapped
  21. Can't Wait!!!!! Where have you been shane? It's been too long since an update! Not that i mind too much though
  22. Personally, this ride looks like it's gonna kick some serious ass. the launch (es) will probabaly be great, the layout is interesting and unique, the area and trains just have my jaw dropping to the floor their so beautiful. Just look at all of Busch's other coasters. Almost every one, at least in the last 10 years, has been something beautiful and iconic along with being a great ride. The whole idea of this atraction with the cheetah exibits and whatnot is totally awesome sounding. This ride is even more awe-inspiring when you consider their last ' 48" height restriction ' attraction was Python. I actually did like python and miss it, but this looks to be a much better ride.
  23. It's nice to see a park that actually markets a coaster as a "fun" experience. Most parks try and go for the scraiest, most thrilling ride. Looks like it has some nasty surprises too
  24. Gravity Group did a great thing by not having seat belts on the trains. That should really speed up queue times on coasters with these trains.
  25. Awesome pictures and Video! i'm so jealous of you getting to travel to sweeden for this!!!! And Kudos for the John K. quote!
