Wow jake GREAT review. Answers alot of questions. It wont ruin the ride for me at all. The same way before i rode boulderdash the reviews didnt nearly live up to the insanity of the ride. Its nice to have a top coaster outside of the east coast area.

Ok sounds great. Cant wait to ride this spring. The trains and seats looked like they were built to be comfortable with lats so I was hoping there would be atleast some so that is good.

How many lats on the drop and overbanks and elsewhere? And how is that drop off the midbrake in the back? seems it would be insane. Also, how much leg room is there? Because the lack of leg room on the spinners makes the restraints a bit uncomfortable.

Boulderdash is one of those rides that ride much better at certain times than others. You have to ride it at night, and you should sit near the back. Day or night though, in the front/middle it is very average feeling. I never ride there because it defeats the whole ride. Ive ridden el toro and boulder dash within the same week and my rides on boulderdash were a bit more fun and insane feeling than my ert night rides on el toro in the rain. It really depends on when and were you ride it though.

It was posted on their facebook awhile back that it would have lap bars. Has this been confirmed, or is it going to have otsrs?

Wow! I was blown away every time i have been to the Atlantis in the Bahamas; by their theming and aquariums that just seemed to show up everywhere, their beautiful architecture of their buildings, the hotel itself, the slides, and just the overall EXTREME quality that i have yet to find in any other resorts. That Atlantis resort looks just incredible though. The layout seems ingeniously efficient, while maintaining such beauty and simplicity. I'm going to have to get out there some day. The Atlantis resorts are just great.

Dammit. When will we see another intamin with t-bars because those are the best.

Has it been confirmed whether these would have lap bars or not?

The sound that ride will have with a full train will be absolutely incredible.

I love how every ballot that includes boulder dash has it at the very top of the list, so you can instantly see who has ridden it or not.

My favorite stays boulder dash, closely followed by el toro, then by pheonix, then cyclone sfne and twister which are both extremely underrated imo. Also lightning racers were up there.

Yeah just getting these trains wont fix the damage the old trains have already done. Wildcat was barely any smoother, but it will not be getting rougher much more. Same with Gwazi. When i rode this back in 2002 it was not rough at all, but im sure it is now. Anyways they will have to do a LOT of retracking for these trains to run well.

Actually b&m has wheel systems that constantly touch the track on their coaster, but the first B&M dive machines like oblivion only have about 98* drops not vertical because the upstops didn't constantly hold on the track.. And that bit of space has BARELY any effect on the smoothness of the ride and is not what makes arrows and vekomas rough, it has everything to do with their track shaping and their restraints. And that space exists on nearly every coaster in the world, wood or steel, except the dive machines. And for the last time: THE TRAINS WILL NOT AFFECT THE SMOOTHNESS OF THE RIDE, they will ride GREAT i can guarantee just by looking at the type of wheel systems they have. Plus there are no over shoulder restrains so any roughness in shaping will not most likely by felt. But it looks like its pretty well shaped, so overall THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT when it comes to how well this will ride. Remember this is a STEEL coaster now. Not wooden. Edit: Oops i was mistaken. All B&Ms have this constant touching wheel system. Although older b&ms such as oblivion were built back when the wheel system wasn't AS tight on the track. Which they have been improving over the years.

Because these trains are still similar to those that ran on wood coasters in the past and Gerstlauer doesn't have a great record there. I prefer to wait and judge the cars on how they run and not how they look Um they have polyurethane wheels that are made for the track. They will feel just about the same as riding every other STEEL coaster in the world. The trains cant make the ride rough.

They are awful rather than awe-ful. I was pretty shocked when I heard that SFOT went with G-trains for their $10mil guinea pig. You'd think that they would go with a company that has a proven crowd-pleasing record and Gerstlauer is not it. Holiday World's Legend ran G-trains initially, I believe, and it's popularity increased once they were replaced with PTCs. Mega Zeph is the only coaster with G-trains that has ever sat in my top 10. Having said that, this is not a wood coaster. Gerstlauer also makes steel coaster rolling stock and those seem to be just fine. We'll just have to wait and see. The gerstlauer trains on wooden coasters usually make wooden coasters rough because of their wheel setup, but custom gerstlauer trains, such as the ones on Mammut at Tripsdrill, ride VERY well because they are designed to suit the track. And these trains are basically for a steel coaster so they should have NO problem and will probably have been the best trains they could have gotten for the ride.

Well its nice to see all the structure reinforcements taking place as i thought they would. That answers everyones questions about how this thing is going to hold up! Well as far as i can see they have alot more structure to put in.

I think this looks great! As for he people who say there is no airtime, well I see multiple airtime hills, a steep first drop, a nice low airhill before the cobra roll, and remembering Fahrenheits norweigian loop, there was airtime coming out of that that rivaled el toro, and each barrel roll has -1 Gs of hangtime. It looks great to me.

I've seen this twice now. Can you explain how a coaster that hasn't even been pulled up the lifthill yet is considered for the "Greatest Amusement Industry Achievement of the Decade"? Because it is an entirely new way to build or rebuild a coaster that so far is very efficient. Also I forgot to mention the topper track which is also a breakthrough in ways to preserve wooden coasters.
