The official "Happy April Fools Day!" Thread.
socalMAN123 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
My favorite April Fools prank is licking the icing out of Oreos then replacing the cream with Colgate toothpaste or mashed potatoes. It's really funny to see the people's faces. -

X is a great ride. They need to make more of these kinds of coasters. I love X because I've been on it once and waited four hours for it. I think it was defenitly fit for a four hour wait. It was a little rough at some parts, but the rest of the ride rocks! ---Brent

Hey yall- Yesterday, I went to DCA to ride ToT, California Screamin, and all of the other good rides. We ended up riding almost all of the rides in the park TWICE! It was a good day and here's my TR. They let us into DCA about 9:50 for what I call, "The Running of the Bulls" to start. We go through Condor Flats, laughing out how long the line for Soarin' already was. A huge crowd was waiting for us when we got to the tape by GRR. 10:00, they let down the tape, and we make off into a nice sprint. Of course, by the time we actually make it to GRR's entrance, the line is already 120 minutes long. So we grab a single rider pass and head on up through the line. Out first of five rides on GRR that day was about to start. When we get off, I'm not as wet as usual, but it was still a good ride. We got Fastpasses for GRR and then went over to Mullholland Madness. We saw how short the line was, and then just walked on the car. When we reached the station, we ask him if we don't have to get off since there is no line. He says yes, and dispatches us again. Mullholland Madness was running smooth today. It glided around its turns and gave out immense amounts of airtime on its drops. After Mullholland Madness, we walked over to Maliboomer. Once again, no line, equals two rides without getting off. Maliboomer was giving a great amount of airtime all day. We headed over to California Screamin, saw the line, grabbed a single rider, and headed for the line. Up the elevator, down the elevator, and finally get seated. My first train was the green one, which had audio working ( ) and was going smoothly. THe only thing I didn't enjoy was I didn't have enough room to put my hands up. After Screamin', my brother called his friend and asked him if he wanted to come. Right now, it's 10:30 and my brotehr's friend says yes, but doesn't show up until 2:30! We walk over to Maliboomer, ride single rider, and then walked over to GRR to use our Fastpasses. After GRR, we went over and ate a Big Mac with fries and a Coke. We finally make our way out of Paradise Pier, where we practically spent the whole morning. My brother's friend says he was gonna meet us at 1:15, so we went over to Disney Animation and went into Sorceror's Workshop and take the character test. I got the best one, the mishceaveous, the funny, MUSHU! After we left Disney Animation, we went over to the Golden Sun, where my brother's friend said he would meet us. But then he calls adnsays his brother is being a turd and won't let him get his pass. So we go back into Hollywood Pictures Backlot and check the line for ToT. An hour and thirty minutes. Nah, it's not worth waiting that long. We have about an hour to kill so we go over and wait FORTY MINUTES for single rider on Soarin'. I will never use single rider Soarin' again! We walk over to the entrance to wait for him, and he finally shows up. We walk over to get Fastpasses for ToT and then go ride GRR single rider twice. Then, we run over to Redwood Creek and have fun killing ourselves. My brotehr twisted his ankle ( ) and his friend got huge cramps. We walk over and do single rider Mullholland, then Maliboomer single rider. After that, we hit California Screamin again. We had about an hour to kill so we went over and got our kiddie credits in A Bug's Land. Then we got soaked running through the water fountains. After that, we hit It's Tough to Be a Bug. Great 3-D show, one of my favorites. 4:50, time to ride ToT. We give our Fastpasses to the bellhop at teh entrance and go and ride one of my favorite drop rides. After we get of ToT, it's night time. We head over to the Orange Stinger and ride a great Yo-Yo. One more California Screamin ride, one more Mullholland Madness ride, two more GRR rides, and one Golden Zephyer ride. Then we went over to the drop-off area where my parents were waiting. All in all, yesterday was a great day for Disney and us. ---Brent

Hey yall- Well, lets say S&S isn't the most reliable company. Let's refer back to some fond memories, shall we? You know the Thrill Shot at SFMM? That thing did the same thing X did, it didn't open on opening day. It was closed for like a month and a day before S&S actually got it up and working. Even to this day, you'll be lucky if you get a ride on Thrill Shot.

Advantage of Staying at a Disney Resort
socalMAN123 replied to Jose Eber's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most Disney hotels do get privilages like getting into the park early and personal transportation into the parks. Some even have their own entrances. These are just SOME of the perks that Disney offers to their guests of the hotels. -
Number Of times Ridden A Roller Coaster
socalMAN123 replied to sfdlfan11's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think the most times I've been on a coaster in a row was Boomerang @ KBF. I rode it 11 times in a row and had a huge headache for like thiry minutes. Then I went on Xcelerator! -Brent -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
socalMAN123 replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Another one of my favorites would have to be Riptide @ KBF. Unlike Robb, I set teh record for the most flips that month. The thing like broke and they had us flip over like 10 times. It was crazy! Brent "It probably wasn't as bbad as a Roll-O-Plane getting stuck barrel rolling" Shenton -

Robb- It's great that you got the site back up and running before I even got home from camping. I hope your new hosting works better! Brent "that's a buttload of servers!" Shenton -
Best Songs for Coaster Videos
socalMAN123 replied to TheKid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey yall- I enjoy making coaster videos (none of which I will show you), so the best songs to use are rock or techno. I've seen one rap song in a video (DCA video @ tommyandjames.net), and personally, I thought it stunk. It just didn't go well with the clips (besides the fact that the song fits Tommy and James perfectly) and doesn't run as smooth as rock and techno. Brent "Green Day songs work REALLY well" Shenton -
Hey guys- Great stories of riding coasters in the rain (an exception for Nemmy ). I wish I've been on half of the things you guys have been on, but that's a different story. // You don't need rain to get that effect on Millennium Force. Ride it in late August and the bugs will give the same sensation. Very true. -Brent

Kingda Ka- Who cares?
socalMAN123 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Same with me. I'm about 4' 8, so I would get thrown around in any OSTR, except for Revolution and X. The OSTR's really don't stop me from maximum amounts of airtime. Like on Silver Bullet for instance. That airtime hill between the two flatspins had me floating out of my seat nice and good. My only question is, will you get airtime on the Top Hat of Kingda Ka? -Brent -
Crush N Gusher 3 Person Tubes: Rules
socalMAN123 replied to Jose Eber's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey yall- Crush N' Gusher looks like a great waterslide. The three-person tubes are a nice addition to the slide, making the line go faster for more people to enjoy the slide. I think the weight restrictions are kind of like the Matterhorn's, biggest person in the back, second biggest in the middle, and smallest in the front. I'll have to check on the exact weight limit for the slide before I can get back to you on this. Brent "they should do three person Matterhorn seats" Shenton -
Disney in Hong Kong
socalMAN123 replied to Ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey yall- Hong Kong Disneyland looks like a nice addition to the Disney theme parks! The only thing I have a problem with is the lack of rides. Hong Kong Disneyland will only have one "E-ticket" ride at the opening, and that's Space Mountain. I mean it's good that they are thinking ahead for a "Phase 2" Project, but I mean, the original Disneyland had more "E-ticket" rides than the Hong Kong one will. With all of the money Disney has, don't you think they should spend a little bit more, just for their parks to be a bit more exciting? Also, nice aerial photos of the park. It looks really good. -Brent -
