  1. Was talking to Angry_Gumball about it last weekend, im planning on being there as well. Still need my Superman credit as well.
  2. The first rider auction will indeed be released in February, the next quote is straight from the First Rider Auction press release.
  3. Im starting to think Gold Striker will be opening on March 29th. It's really strange for the park to be opening up on a Friday and a week later than it normally does. With the park opening on Friday this has me to think even more that it ( Gold Striker) will open because it would be a really slow day at the park, plus it gives them time to work out any kinks that the coaster may have. Plus the 29th is Good Friday and right before Easter and Spring Break, perfect time to open the coaster. Of course this is all speculation at this point, I believe we will know the exact opening date by February when the first rider auction is announced.
  4. None this weekend, Global Winter Wonderland was also closed the whole weekend due to rain and potential flash flooding. Do expect more next weekend as I believe we are planning on being there Sunday.
  5. So last night was the scariest and most insane visit I have ever had at CGA. The park is like a County Fair came in and set up shop. From typical food vendors to ride and even some scary carnies! One of the insane carnies asked me if I wanted to win one of the gold fish and eat it for camp food, WTF! Other than that the lanterns that were set up were really awesome! A few highlights: Gold Striker Making the Dizzy Dragons E-stop from to much spinning. Classic CGA rides. Walking into the park, something is a little strange here. A ghetto Ferris Wheel and a B&M, how much more could you ask for haha. Oh yea this is why we are here. A look at the prices. I highly recommend eating before you come in as food is highly expensive. The lift is rising! Wider shot of the lift from outside the main gate. The slab for the first drop is getting ready. Hey, where did the carousel go? No more water, just fake grass. Hello there mr. snowman. The guys working on the lift were posing for us, im sure they are fans of TPR. Midway turn looking amazing. Random lantern shot Carnival area, with the ferris wheel. The ride I refuse to go on as it is way to intense for me. Nerd shot! A look at the 49er stadium. Bumper cars are open! Berserker is open. Such a classic ride. This is cool! Awesome! It's made out of ceramic dishes. What happened to Underworld Alley?! Wait am I at Disneyland?! DISNEYLAND!!! Nope our castle is bigger. Random carnival food. They had a ton of international food as well. Laser light show on the castle. Shed used in Beverly Hills Cop 3. A quick path through a backstage path. Tidal Wave footers. This one is made out of tiny medicine bottles filled with colored water. Statue of Liberty Giant Octopus! Peacock! The Super Slide is where all the fun was last night. More Gold Striker porn! 80 DEGREES! Another look at the first drop area. Some bents on a truck. I see you hiding Club Blood! Another look at the lift. Midway turn! While riding on the Columbia, noticed the floor needs some work done. Hopefully it can get resorted so its in tip top shape! To end the update, Flight Deck's loop.
  6. It's really awesome seeing the coaster rise at such a rapid pace, really hoping it's ready for opening day. Since it is Great America I think some type of landscaping will be done since the park is really well maintained landscape wise.
  7. Even more Gold Striker progress! Pictures were once again posted on the parks facebook page which can be found HERE.
  8. Im surprised no one has mentioned about removing Spongebob in the Action FX theater. I feel like it will finally be gone next year and we will see a Dinosaurs Alive movie come in. Similar to the other CF park that got it this year, just don't remember which one.
  9. Gold Striker Update! All the pictures were posted on the parks Facebook page!
  10. The park just posted this on their facebook page.
  11. It's amazing to watch how much the coaster is growing every week! Really appreciate all the updates people are doing, planning on checking it out before my Haunt shift on Saturday. Speaking of Haunt, if you plan on visiting this weekend I highly recommend on purchasing Fright Lane as it is going to be packed this weekend.
  12. I actually sort of wanted to, thought it would be a fun experience haha.
  13. Paramount never had a major Halloween event, plus that is the year all the former Paramount parks got a Halloween Haunt event.
  14. Great trip report! I think someone else got you pretty good last night in a certain Werewolf maze!
  15. ^ Last Saturday was insane and it is only going to get worse. Friday's are not as busy as Saturday but not nearly as quite as a Sunday. If I were to list the days from least to most busiest it would be, Sunday, Friday, and then Saturday.
  16. Yea it is still preformed by them, I will agree they are an awesome group. The guy with the pink mohawk (Chris) is actually the lead singer in the band Pounders if any of you have heard of them before.
  17. Awesome trip reports as always. Glad I was able to snag a picture with you guys really quick while I was on lunch!
  18. I actually believe there is! It's not a full restaurant but they do sell some food and beer! For the Haunt season right now it is called Ghoul Time but it is normally named Game Time ( I think). It is located right next to Flying Eagles across from the American Cafe.
  19. The park just posted these pictures on their facebook page. The coaster is looking amazing!
  20. Yea last night we ran into a issue at Werewolf Canyon where we had a ton of people on break at once which really screwed things up leaving the maze practically empty.
  21. Madame Marie has lots of secrets in her Manor, you will just have to find them out for yourself at Haunt!
  22. Yes that is correct! It's a really good deal.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVkwgdfLnpk Park just posted this today, all the footage was shot at the preview night last night. A little over 24 hours till Haunt!
  24. Very excited for Haunt, as it's my first year being a monster. Tonight is the first of two preview nights and then we open up for everyone on the 28th! Hope I will see a bunch of TPR members going through Werewolf Canyon.
