  1. Thanks for the update! Glad to see the coaster is making a lot of progress. Poor Club Blood it is the Woodstock Express of Haunt mazes, with it being changed every year.
  2. It does indeed make it more stable, but with this coaster they are doing a combination of footer and slabs. Im not really sure why they didn't use one giant slab, my only guess is that they could work on the coaster at different stages faster and not have to wait forever for the concrete to cure.
  3. It was another awesome day at the park today, also im glad the lines were some what moderate and not overly crowded. Today I aldo hit a new record of the amount of Star Tower rides in one day, total I had three! Lets just say cramming five people into that log was a challenge but we were able to do it! Over all it was an awesome day at the park once again, just wondering how Club Blood is going to work out this year.
  4. The plans were supposedly "revised" and the coaster is going to be taller than it originally was going to be. So its hard to say really what the coaster is going to look like in the final product. Im just thankful we are getting a new coaster!
  5. So today while I was looking at some renderings for the coaster I noticed that the "Curly Fry" was on the plans and so are a lot more slabs. When I showed Angry_Gumball he pointed out on the permit site that it labels "Zones" so this has us guessing that the coaster will have a lot of "zone" otherwise known as slabs. Pay close to the bottom where the Prudential , see that blue out line box? It sure looks like the "Curly Fry". This has me guessing the coaster will have a bunch of smaller slabs compared to one large one. Here is a view the "Curly Fry" again.
  6. When I said dark ride im using that term very loosely. What I should have said is themed tunnels, just like mentioned above. I wouldn't expect anything too elaborate either but you never know.
  7. That's sort of what I was thinking, that the coaster would have some sort of "dark ride" section, and that could be the record.
  8. I think the record for the coaster is the worlds largest middle finger directed to the neighbors!
  9. Yea, that would make sense, AU=Gold and 13=2013! Awesome find didn't even think about that!
  10. I agree, it makes the attraction even better if they are able to follow a theme!
  11. Some more news today, Cedar Fair trade marked the name, "Gold Striker" could this be the name for our new GCI? What also has me curious is if the 49ers will have a part in this coaster if it ends up using this name. tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=85686395
  12. I went to the park today to see if anything has gone on at the construction site and to my surpise, a little bit of progress has been made since last week! The park today was actually the least buiestest I have seen it for a Sunday. Got to the park right at opening and headed to the Star Tower to see the site. Then I went to right side of the park and hit Demon and some of the other rides I thought would have a longer wait later on in the day. Once it was 11 AM I headed to Boomerang Bay and did some of the slides, pool, and lazy river. The water park was dead today, hardly any waits. Although later on in the day it did end up being busy. Before I post the pictures I would like to let everyone know that I will be working at Haunt this year! I went to the job fair on Saturday and I will be working at Werewolf Canyon! I know this last year the maze wasn't very strong, but this year im hoping that changes! *Not too many pictures this time, nothing really new to report on. A look at the lot, not really sure if anything has changed at all. So Im not sure of easy it is to see, but they started to place some sort of marking for were the wood will go. Last but not least here is a shot of the new wood for the maze.
  13. Park's Facebook just posted this: And posted this picture! So it looks like that plot of land I found when I was at the park last week is indeed being used for a new maze!
  14. It was a really fun day, also got some bad sunburns on my feet where I forgot to put sunscreen. The scariest part of the water slide for me was I had no handles! So I just tried to stick my legs out and plant my feet into the raft so I don't end up on someones lap!
  15. Tried looking for the CGA ducky today no luck, looked around the bushes and planter with no luck. Hopefully a non TPR member didn't grab it.
  16. ^This is the coolest diorama I have ever seen at a fair, a model of Flight Deck at CGA. I saw it in person and this thing was massive and very detailed! Image Courtesy of: mejaybe
  17. ^That's awesome! So today I went to the park and got there around 2:15, the park was actually crowded for a Wednesday I use to go on in the middle of the week because there would usually be more less lines but today was not the case. There are actually a few things to report, I will mostly just add captions to the pictures but I would like to note a few things here. The wood for the new maze is behind the Action Theater you can see it if you ride Vortex. Also Grizzly's dispatches have seem to gotten better! I timed a 1:15 from unload to load! Now onto the pictures! So far it looks like the "Onion Ring" is done as far as cement. The "Drumstick" still needs a little more work done. Overview of all the wood. They were actually moving things around and organizing. Over at Tiki Twirl they added these new God signs, I think it adds a nice touch! I think this is going to be the new area for the Haunt building that was found on the permit page. It sits behind First Aid and the former area of Invertigo lifts. Here is an aerial view, seems like a good spot for a maze. When exiting Grizzly I noticed a new type of brace going on part of the turn around and some new beams. Anybody know or have an idea why? (Sorry about my finger in the shot.) Noticed they were working on this building and gutting it out. (Near Boomerang Bay) My guess this is for Halloween and they will have the talking pumpkin show here. Or something completely different. And the Vortex wheelchair lift is still not done, I would have thought it would be completed by now.
  18. This was posted on CGA's facebook: I don't know where to even begin with this, don't people know if you go to an amusement park your there is a risk of rides getting stuck? I guess people are just beyond clueless. You can find the whole thing here: https://www.facebook.com/cagreatamerica
  19. It's a lot of fun, but a lot of folks are surprised when they learn it's not as easy as it seems! Any thoughts on where you want to try and go? I'll be Supervising again, hopefully they bring me back to the same place as last year I'm thinking about doing Scare Zones just not sure which one yet.
  20. Very excited for Haunt this year it should be awesome! Even better I may be apart of it as I applied for Talent today and going to the job fair on the 4th!
  21. I personally use a GAC due to the illness that I have (JIA), this is how it works for RSR, I am go through the Fast Pass line in which the CM marks my card for a return time and allows me to wait in the Fast Pass line once. Then after I ride I can come back after what ever time is written on my card. That's how it works for me around DCA, just waiting in the Fast Pass line. In DL its a little different if a ride has Fast Pass I wait in that line but if it doesn't I practically get on right away, such as the Matterhorn and Subs and I think all of the Fantasyland rides, never use them at them.
  22. How does the park tend to be crowd wise in the middle of the week(Wensday)and is a Flash Pass worth it?
  23. Yay bench the maze! If they do use that IMAX area at all it will be interesting on how they use the area.
  24. Great pictures and trip report! I actually have a picture of the Time Capsule that you mentioned. I also believe it's the last Paramount logo in the park.
