  1. Mt. Olympus? This park keeps popping into my mind: Little Amerricka. I know they just got a new (used) coaster but this seems like it would fit in the park well.
  2. Yeah, Six Flags Great America is actually in Gurnee, Illinois. But most people know it for being "in" Chicago. I really doubt it's for SFGam. Adding a wooden coaster smaller than the two they already have? But hey, they added a wild mouse this year when they already had a spinning once so who knows. Screamscape has said that a Splash Battle will open in that area in 2009. Who knows... FishyFishyFish???
  3. ^ Yeah, that sounds familiar, I'll see if I can find an article on it.
  4. I'm still convinced it has SOMETHING to do with forellenhoff. I don't think he expected anybody to read the file name. But who knows, maybe he did. He's played bigger jokes before, haha.
  5. I'm still thinking it's either FOR ELLEN HOF or it's for the park Forellenhof.
  6. Well, you've changed the file names to: unknown_1_306 and unknown_2_207 That's all I can tell at the moment.
  7. I usually don't look at file names, but... "forellenhof" Could this mean anything? Probably not... I tried.
  8. Katrina is finished! Production for Katrina began on July 15th, 2007 and concluded on July 28th, 2008. Over a year went into putting this movie together - and I can't wait for everybody to see it on Thursday. Hope to see everybody at the premier party on Wednesday! I'll post a link tomorrow night. * If you have an advertisment that you would like to be shown before Katrina, please P.M. me ASAP. I only have a few spots available.
  9. I recently got back from New Orleans filming for my upcoming tribute documentary about Hurricane Katrina. (http://www.katrina.coaster101.com) On the way back we stopped in my old "home away from home" town Hattiesburg, Mississippi to see some old friends. Shameless plug... They got some crazy ladies in this rest stop. What was left of Hurricane Dollywood was raining over the city. We aint got none of these in Tennessee! Once we got to the riverwalk you could really smell the oil spill and see it! You can see it blotched up. The smell really got to you after a few minutes. They're using these mops to mop up as much of it as they can. Simple concept, really. Next time you're in the city, go up into the Westin, you'll get a great view out of those three big windows. - - - Hattiesburg, Mississippi My grandparents use to live here so when I was a little kid this was like a second home to me. I would come for weeks and stay. Unfortunately, it's not the same place I once knew. It's grown at such a fast rate (helped by thousands of evacuees from New Orleans) parts of it are now unrecognizable. But there are still parts that are the same, that I can travel down memory lane on. That's always nice. We went to check out their newly-remodeled train station. Funny story: I went in a side door because I saw restrooms inside. I went the other way and went down a hallway. I passed a sign that said "employees only" I crossed a desk (nobody was there) and found myself locked in the lobby. But with my quick thinking I unlocked the door and was able to escape. It was a riveting experience. Right. Holy crap I hope it doesn't eat me! Way to let this history rot away... Out in the woods... Thanks for reading. I hope this was random enough for everybody.
  10. It depends on what day you go. Weekends are typically the worse, especially if there is an event going on that weekend. Raging Bull's line can be the longest but keep in mind it is usually fast-moving. The longest line I've wated in at the park was over two hours for Batman. Whizzer can also have long lines. I believe Rajin Cajun would have long lines but I hate spinning so it never concerned me. If you can get there before the park opens, head straight for Superman. That's what I would do. Demon, Whizzer, Dark Knight, Rajin Cajun, Viper, and American Eagle should all be alright for an 8 year old. Hope that helped a bit.
  11. As we were leaving New Orleans we pulled off to check out Six Flags New Orlean's entrance drive and I've gotta say, it was very eerie. Hasn't been touched since August 2005. It still says "Six Flags Dr.". The signs along the entrance drive are still very readable, despite the waterline on them. Bugs sure has been through the weather... I'm surprised Six Flags didn't try to salvage the boomerang, but most of their parks already have one so I guess I can understand. So has Batman... They don't want anybody getting in here! MegaZeph still looks like an awesome ride. Hopefully we'll see it operating again someday. Thanks for reading! My Katrina tribute documentary over a year in the making premiers on Thursday! 12. Ouch, sunburned feet aren't cool. Great trip report. I miss going to this park every year. Some things look different but overall it's still the same. Raging Bull looks great with the new paint job.
  13. Update Year 7 Hola amigos! This is a very nice restaurant to go to. Avispa at night! I think it's best to ride the coaster at night. Mas, pronto!
  14. I'll be at the French Quarter tomorrow - I'll let everybody know how it is.
  15. World Trade Center 10/10 I meant to see this movie when it came out, but I saw it recently and it blew me away. Every one of the characters seemed to be more developed to the point where I couldn't really tell who the story was about (even though you know from the plot). The acting was incredible. While it is a sad story, the story of World Trade Center is not a somber one. It is a story of survival. I recommend it to anyone. United 93 10/10 I also saw United 93 today and it made my stomach go in knots. You forget that these are actors and you think to yourself (wow, every one of these people are dead now). I had to remind myself that these are only actors. The emotions are so real, you feel like you're actually there. The camera work was also very good. I also recommend this to anybody, but it's a bit more gut-wrenching than World Trade Center.
  16. Update Pre-Opening Hello! Construction is well underway here at Orleans Place Boardwalk! Joe's Crab Shack is nearing completion! It seems to be a large building! Can't wait to eat here! Check back soon for more updates!
  17. ^ I commend you for doing that. I've wanted to go there for a mission trip ever since the storm hit, but unfortunately I haven't been faced with an opportunity. www.katrina.coaster101.com If you intend on being at the premier party (for any amount of time) on Thursday, July 30th, please let me know. I will be using a different chat room program this time and I want to know roughly how many people will be there. It will last all day until midnight when the movie will premier. This isn't a "reservation" I just need some rough numbers. Thanks. CD5
  18. Update Year 7 Hola! How are you doing today? Today was another busy day at the park. This is usually a calmer area of the park. Mas, pronto!
  19. Great trip report. Never been to Lake Winnie, but it seems like a cool place. Agreed. On my last trip there, I actually liked it more than Mystery Mine. That might be stretch for some, though.
  20. On Wednesday, I will return to New Orleans for two days to film the rest of Katrina. I am giving up my birthday trip to Six Flags St. Louis for this trip to New Orleans to film. I'm not looking for sympathy from this - I want you all to know how dedicated I am to making this the best film that I can possibly make. Even though I won't be riding any coasters this year, hopefully the response from this movie will be more of a gift than any coaster could ever be. I've learned alot about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans over the past year that I've been working on this film. I've learned what New Orleans was before the storm, what it was really like during the storm, and what it will hopefully be in the future. New Orleans is an incredible city - I encourage you to go if you've never been before. I find that when I go to the city, I always leave with something. Not a physical object, but this feeling. The city gives off this feeling with the atmosphere, the food, the kind people, that you can't easily find in other cities. It's something very special and I hope you can all experience it sometime in your lifetime. The French Quarter alone is almost indescribable. There are so many things to see, foods to try, interesting people to watch. Yes, Katrina had a major impact on the city of New Orleans. I believe it was a test to see if the city could come back. And it has. Maybe not to 100% of what it was before the storm, but I believe it is a better city than before the storm hit. I think the storm can be seen in a positive way - it gave some people the chance to start over, it gave some people the initiative to lend a helping hand to their fellow neighbor. I believe it brought people closer together. I believe it brought people of the entire nation together to help. You can choose to focus on the FEMA, government, political side of Katrina, but that is not what I am choosing to do. You can look at this story of a people that came together to rebuild. Katrina is something that I've thought about doing for some time now. Not with RCT3, but as a real movie that would show Hurricane Katrina for what it really was - especially in the aftermath. I am happy and honored to be working with some great New Orleans citizens on this movie. It has been an incredible experience. I'd also like to thank the incredible support the forums (including this one) have given me. I know there have been a few rough spots along the way and I apologize. I hope you all enjoy the movie.
  21. Update Year 7 Hola! Carros Locos have been a huge hit with the families so far. Bonitas chicas! Mas, pronto!
  22. And Then There Were None - Coming August 2008 CD5 returns with our third annual halloween project. Ten peeps crossed over the dotted yellow line; One walked away and then there were Nine. Nine peeps went to sleep when it got late; One overslept and then there were Eight. Eight peeps walked until it was eleven; One took a fall and then there were Seven. Seven peeps left chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in halves and then there were Six. Six peeps trying to drive; One stayed behind and then there were Five. Five peeps try to open the door; One went in and then there were Four. Four peeps try to get free; One was sacrificed and then there were Three. Three peeps feeling down and blue; One lost his cool and then there were Two. Two peeps were out in the sun; One got all frizzled up and then there was one. One peep left all alone; He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.
  23. Update Year 7 Hola! Carros Locos! The water looks very inviting on this hot day! The Year 8 addition will extend this way. Mas, pronto!
  24. I don't want to be getting to far ahead of anything, but I wondered, would/could HEF buy the parks? Sorry if it's already been brought up.
  25. ^ Right. In the end, it doesn't matter whether there's a fence or not. These people aren't deaf. They're not blind. It all comes down to common sense. Something that seems to be fading away in society...
