  1. I've yet to visit the Korean parks, so I appreciate your trip reports. The new Panda World looks very nice, and the park is beautiful after dark.
  2. ^They are building what appears to be a log fort to go with the ride. As for further "coverage," we'll see (Christmas Town begins next weekend).
  3. Ive been saying this since the announcement. We'll see. I think the "mine train" analogy is pretty apt.
  4. Arrogant Bastard Ale (Stone Brewing)
  5. Yeah, it would be a bad move politically, but a Muppet History show would be better than the Hall of Presidents. Even so, I'd be curious to hear the Trump animatronic give it's little speech. It would probably just make lots of goofy faces and flail its arms around. That being said, Disney should replace the Great Movie Ride at the Studios park with the old Muppet version they were toying with years ago.
  6. The more I see of Dynamic's rotating theater, the more intrigued I am. Does look like a cool concept.
  7. More from IAAPA--day 3! [twitter] [/twitter] We are back at IAAPA 2016 to do a recap of the booths! Here's a look at the Mauer booth! Here's what's at the Skyline Attractions booth! Vekoma showing off some coaster trains and media-based entertainment. Checking out the variety of hardware at Rocky Mountain Construction. MagicBand-like systems are all the new hotness. We trust in Accesso Tech to make their new wearable products stand out! RES Tech had some interesting roller coaster concepts on display.
  8. That's my main complaint about Silver Bullet, aside from it being an "OK" invert, at best.
  9. I don't know. To me, Zamperla (in terms of coasters, not flat rides (their flats are epic)) is the dictionary definition of a good concept but poorly executed. Their large scale coasters could have been great alternatives to the more expensive B&M/Intamin/Vekoma coasters. Instead, they're just alternatives. Bad alternatives, mostly. Not sure about Thunderbolt, but Wild West Mine Train at Ocean Park is one of the best family coasters out there. Everything worked so well except for insufficient legroom and that was back in 1999. It feels more like hit or miss to me. I had no idea that Wild West Mine Train was a Zamperla ride. It is a good one, but I do recall the trains being a bit cramped.
  10. And I'm being honest in saying that when I rode Thunderbolt a few years ago, it was really bad--I think mostly due to the train. The coaster's layout was pretty cool, though.
  11. I like the "new" trains. InvadR will probably be a nicely themed ride, at least, and I'll be happy if it's as good as Fun Spot's White Lightning.
  12. Zamperla should farm their trains out to another company.
  13. There's another train that looks more like a viking ship. [twitter] [/twitter]
  14. That "revolving theater" concept reminds me a bit of the old Musical Circus ride at Parque Espana in Japan.
  15. First set of photos from IAAPA 2016! And here's a video of the new "Cloud Coaster" by Extreme Engineering. Skyline Attractions' Skywarp concept video. [twitter] [/twitter] [twitter] [/twitter] [twitter] [/twitter] [twitter] [/twitter] [twitter] [/twitter] Show floor about to open! Checking out the Premier Rides booth! Are you a fan of B&M coasters? We are big fans of Rocky Mountain Construction! Big reveal for SeaWorld Texas about to happen! The biggest and newest inflatables are on display at IAAPA 2016. Gerstlauer makes some twisty rides! Gravity Group showing off their Timberliner trains and so many coasters!
  16. This isn't to my taste, but it does look like a good alternative to those "Ring of Fire" rides.
  17. ^To me, Whizzer is just flat-out fun--a ride that entire families can enjoy. If that's not to your taste, then so be it.
  18. Come on, there are two more coasters in that park. Then again, I can guess how those two would be ranked.
  19. Being as I have two local parks, and I've already ranked BGW, here are my rankings for Kings Dominion: 1. Intimidator 305 2. Volcano 3. Dominator 4. Flight of Fear 5. Rebel Yell 6. Grizzly 7. Avalanche 8. Back Lot Stunt Coaster 9. Ricochet 10. Woodstock Express 11. Anaconda I left off the Great Pumpkin Coaster.
  20. ^Perhaps the "creepy elf experience" is an upcharge.
  21. ^Let's not forget the power of the Harry Potter franchise--not to mention Universal's other IPs.
  22. Bell's Winter White Ale As wheat beers go, it's quite good.
  23. Those Toy Story Lands have really caught on.
