  1. Yes Yes & Yes, you could probably read the bible in the length of time it takes to get up the 2nd lift hill!!! And after you reach the top, you'll be crying for Jesus to save you.
  2. It's kinda like shower gel but it comes out of the can as a foam instead of a gel. As for the use? Maybe all the TPR peeps wanted to see if they could turn Valhalla into a giant car wash for people You could easily take a shower in Vahalla--a very cold one. I agree that BPB's Wild Mouse is the best of its kind--it really is rather terrifying. Being old enough to have ridden Knott's Motorcycle Chase (which I wish they'd kept), I think I give the edge to BPB's Steeplechase (but not by much).
  3. Trimper's Boomerang isn't bad as Boomerangs go, and I like their haunted house quite a bit. All you were missing from the, well, missing Toboggan was a trip to the chiropractor. Thanks for the TR, Jeff.
  4. Only because they're giving free beer to riders. It was still great last week, trims and all, sez I.
  5. I think the new wooden coaster and a good, up-to-date dark ride are both good moves for Efteling. It needs a really good coaster, and the dark ride will maintain this beautiful park's appeal for families.
  6. I might check out I-305's new restraints this weekend. I didn't have any problems with the harder restraints the last time I was there, though.
  7. Remember the "egg and coaster challenge" during the Scandi trip? That was some reporter's idea. (TPR, of course, triumphed!)
  8. Frankly, it boils down to this: Some like Thirteen, while others do not. Some are in the middle. Twas ever thus. Time to move along, folks.
  9. Because NOTHING attracts crowds like a bunch of hot ladies in front of a brand new roller coaster! There was a new roller coaster? Oh, the big red thing behind the ladies. Got it!
  10. I'm glad to hear that Drayton has improved. It was looking a bit shabby back in 2006, but there were some things I liked about it (such as the cheesy Pirate Adventure and Haunting, and Apocalypse, their drop tower).
  11. Exactly. This thread gets too combative far too often. Please agree to disagree and move on. Thank you. I now return you to this thread, which is already in progress. Personally, I still like I-305, even with the trims.
  12. Happy Belated Father's Day from BGW I ambled over to Busch Gardens on Father's Day to see if Apollo's Chariot was up and running again. It was--and running very well, thank you. The park wasn't very busy at all, although I think a sizable group showed up later for the Christian music concert that night. Here are a few pictures from the day--nothing special. Hi, Apollo--How's that lift motor workin' for you? So, Dad can eat like a kid today? No wonder so many middle-aged men were walking around and stuffing their faces with gummy crap. Rent one of these for your old man--pamper the dude! He's earned it. "Today, Father is Father's Day, and we're giving you . . . . . . a tie! It's not much we know, but it's our way of showing you . . . . . . we think you're a regular guy!" Remember that closed path behind the Squire's Galley I've been harping about? Well, looks like they just needed a new cast area. So much for my spurious theory that there were Smurfs from Kings Dominion buried there in an unmarked grave. Dad, choose your music! "The William Tell Overture" . . . . . . or "Roll Out the Barrel." Need some World Cup crap? Just head over to the old BBW store. Folks were already waiting for that night's concert. I think I'll wait for the B-52s. Hmm--unless I'm mistaken, this is the giant cuckoo clock they've been touting for Illuminights. Oh no! The Griffin model has valleyed! (The actual ride was just fine.) A new SyFy original feature: "Dyno-Croc v . . . . . . Mega Barn Owl!" I think Dyno-Croc is envious of Mega Barn Owl's digs. That's why they're fighting. Thanks for reading.
  13. ^How about "Largest Number of Corporate Tie-ins for an Amusement Park Chain that also Features Obnoxious Commercials on Video Screens Everywhere"?
  14. Grona Lund was great--one of the biggest surprises of TPR's Scandi trip last year (to me, anyway, because I knew almost nothing about the place). Bla Taget was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to the upgraded version.
  15. You couldn't hear the instructions over all the southern rock, anyway.
  16. That is too bad about the Crystal Maze. It's a unique attraction, and I guess the forerunner of all this "Magic Quest" stuff, too. I remember TPR members nearly plowing into each other as they ran from room to room back in '06.
  17. ^It was running today--and very well, I might add.
  18. Is my perception off here, or are U.S. journalists getting dumber by the day?
  19. The Coney Beach Fish and Chips Stand is one of my favorite memories from 2006. This nice, elderly Welsh couple ran the place. NICE OLD MAN: You want any mushy peas with your fish and chips? ME: Er, no thank you. NOM: Oh. Afraid they'll give you "the wind," aren't you?
  20. We're going to L'Ammericka . . . (just a little homage to the Doors).
  21. ^That's where I posted it. When a train leaves the station, there's a whole line of these little water jets (it's quite amusing).
  22. The summer movie crop isn't doing much at all for me this year. I did enjoy Iron Man 2, but I have little desire to see anything else before it comes out on DVD. That being said, I did sit through The Karate Kid with my Dad and my niece and nephew earlier this week. The movie was reasonably entertaining, but: 1. "The Kung Fu Kid" would've been a better title. 2. At 2 hours and 20 minutes, I thought this sucker was too long (but my niece and nephew liked it).
  23. ^Yeah, I'm looking forward to checking out the new Potter stuff, but I'm glad I'm not there today.
  24. ^What time of the day? You have to factor in the relative hunidity and any sun-spot activity, as well.
  25. ^I, too, would like to stand up for the awesomeness that is the lobster roll. Oh, yeah . . .
