  1. ^I recommend checking out the BGW page in TPR's park index. You might find the Park Guide useful.
  2. I fail to see how paying for a park-offered service could be considered "breaking" the rules.
  3. You'll get a chance to steal one and sell it to Slugworth!
  4. My faith has been shaken . . . . . . but I still like Space World.
  5. This TR reminds me that I was planning on cleaning the bathroom tonight. Thank you for providing this valuable service.
  6. Two words if you're only going to be there for one day, and it's a Saturday: Quick Queue.
  7. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=45374 We already have a topic devoted to "favorite" Vekoma rides (easily found by using the "Search" button). Please post your comment there. Thank you.
  8. Just tossed in a bit more--have fun helping out GKTW!
  9. ^Catacombs had good atmosphere but was a hit-or-miss maze. Sometimes, nothing happened in there; other times, there were scareactors jumping out from everywhere. I wouldn't mind if they retired it. I rather liked Masquerage, but it only lasted one season.
  10. Quoted for truth. Always good to see a Larry TR, as we don't get very many of them.
  11. The Magic Kingdom version is not the "original" offering as it was modified due to parents complaining about their children being terrified. Larry's new avatar is even more terrifying than Tom Selleck! I'm going to Guest Relations to complain immediately! I remember that the old DL version of Snow White had this cool "dancing skeleton." Too bad they removed it. Tokyo's version is creepier (which is a plus).
  12. Really, dude, think before you post. These trips and updates aren't all fun and games--they're also hard work. Thanks for all that you've done, Robb--the TDS Updates were particularly good.
  13. ^We were told during TPR Day that HOS's original maze was going to be re-created in the Europe in the Air building. As I recall, that maze had a little bit of everything, including evil clowns, a mad scientist, and an animatronic dionsaur skeleton (it was also pretty long). It'll be interesting to see how it works this year, as they don't have the old arcade space to use like they did more than 12 years ago (when King Arthur's Challenge was in that building). We were also told that HOS was going on in the old Drachen Fire area, but weren't given any details. So, there's going to be a new maze for Pompeii? I hope so, as the old one was getting a bit long in the tooth.
  14. Regarding the Shiriki Tower: What's ironic about this is that the Tokyo Tower's storyline is actually closer to a Twilight Zone episode than the storyline of the other versions in that it has a "moral": There are consequences for plundering ancient cultures. The other versions are more "generic" ghost stories.
  15. Thanks for the video of the original version of Sindbad--the new one is an improvement, but the old version looked pretty good, too.
  16. From what I recall from the backstage tour at BGW on TPR Day, Griffon is floorless due to a "weight" issue. The park wanted larger trains than Sheikra (30 vs. 24 riders), and the only way to do that was to make them floorless; otherwise, the trains would've been too heavy.
  17. They're all quite mad, you know. Looking forward to more great Hanno pictures!
  18. I agree that the Kentucky Kingdom drop tower accident is, indeed, the most "sensational" one. But I think the Big Thunder Mountain derailment at Disneyland that killed a man and injured many others in 2003 may have been even more significant--a truly tragic accident that forced Disney to take a serious look at ride upkeep again.
  19. There was quite a bit of moaning and complaining about the "build a coaster with pretzels" contest results, too--but I don't know what all the brouhaha was about.
  20. Kings Dominion'a FB page was having the same problem--mostly porn, from what I hear.
  21. You also forgot the part where you come around a bend and see two dolphins with Jesus!!!! OK, seriously, this is sounding like the greatest ride ever in the history of history. I need to see this. dt I second this. I like the way Dark Castle cranks up the atmopshere instead of just having random dark-ride gags pop up every few feet.
  22. Unless you're in a movie theatre, where most audiences felt they'd had more than enough. (That being said, I rather enjoyed Tron Legacy--especially the soundtrack.)
  23. Oh, lord, do we dare bring up the Western River Expedition that had once been planned for WDW?
  24. And they did bring back the catawumpus. Kontt's Q&A at WCB 2011 was the best one I've ever attended.
  25. Agreed--comparing a fast-food franchise to a theme park seems a bit of a stretch.
