  1. ^As of last Saturday, it was still there, untouched. There is a sign advertising Delirium in front of it, though.
  2. ^And it's not even Halloween yet--sheesh!
  3. Jack Rabbit--Kennywood
  4. This looks like a great ride for a delivering some major thrills in a small space. I especially like the look of the trains.
  5. The "haunted" carousel ride sounds very clever--more parks should try it.
  6. I'd have to say Lightning Rod. It looks amazing, and it's at Dollywood, which is a big plus.
  7. Up close with Angus McNasty.
  8. ^If you get there before opening, you can probably squeeze in all the coasters without too much trouble. It will get crazier in the afternoon, and I'd recommend seeing the Howl-o-Scream shows then (they run them during the day). We used the "one-time" Quick Queue last Sunday and got in all the mazes, plus night rides on Apollo's Chariot and Verbolten.
  9. ^On Saturday, Quick Queue is a must--it's also more expensive on Saturday and Sunday than it is on Friday.
  10. Expedition Everest--Disney's Animal Kingdom
  11. The WCB tickets were around $109 for both SFMM and Knott's (I have a Cedar Fair pass, so I got a discount for Knott's). The Knott's Berry Farm Hotel was $83/night, thanks to Groupon, as opposed to around $100/night without the discount; we stayed six nights. A two-day park hopper for the DL Resort is currently $225. We rented a car, too, and went to SeaWorld San Diego one day. I hope this is helpful.
  12. ^It's usually the best night to go when it comes to crowds. When in doubt, get Fright Lane.
  13. Busch Gardens Williamsburg
  14. If you're doing Haunt on Saturday, get Fright Lane Plus, as the park will be insanely busy.
  15. ^If you're into Howl-o-Scream, you might want to try the Blood Banquet in Germany. They put out a pretty good spread (particularly the roast beef, pork loin, and chocolate tarts), if you can handle the silly show they put on every hour. If that's not your thing, I recommend the brisket at the Smokehouse or the sausage sampler at the Festhaus. It was really busy last Sunday from mid-afternoon and into Howl-o-Scream. You might want to spring for Quick Queue. I also suggest that you get there early and ride Tempesto first.
  16. Young Star Coaster--Chimelong Paradise
  17. It depends on the ride. When it comes to roughness, Beast definitely isn't in the same league as Son of Beast or Holiday World's Voyage. I like Beast and appreciate its unusual layout and great night rides. I don't think RMC coasters are for "pansies," either. What they lack in roughness, they make up for in crazy airtime and laterals.
  18. A proposed Texas trip for me this year washed out due to a number of problems, but this ride is definitely a good incentive to try again.
  19. I enjoy seeing all the improvements and tweaks they make to this family haunt each year. Adding a walk-through to complement the dark ride is a great idea.
