  1. ^I really wanted to reach out and catch it but I was too busy covering my face.
  2. I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking but I just wanted to say that this was the best day I've had in a long time. Awesome people, awesome rides. Ravine Flyer II is excellent. Very fast, only as rough as it should be, and loaded with air. I think the front is slightly better, but there's really not a bad seat on the train. My thighs are thoroughly bruised, but they're happy bruises. Something else I'd like to add. A Morning Dove lives in third tunnel (What did we decide his name to be, Fabio?). Almost every time we came through, it would drop down in front of the train and make it out of the tunnel just feet in front of us. Towards the end of the day it stayed out, but a majority of the rides it was very close. So close that since I was up front, every time we went through I was a little nervous and many times after seeing it come out would duck and cover my head. There may be some footage of that. It was a really great day. A HUGE thank you to Robb, Cameron, and the Waldameer Park management/staff for making this happen. It was awesome! -Nick And that ends our day at Waldameer. Thanks everyone for a perfect day! The fountains were off at this point, but after we all boarded and locked ourselves into the train with no employee, Steve Gorman came over to turn them on and let us ride! Look at that twisting drop! RAVINE FLYER 3 After many rides on The Comet, we made our way to... It really was a cool ride all built into the trees, it had a few little pops of air which is kind of weird because you feel like there's nothing holding you in. Yes, 2 adults per tiny seat. The tiny lift that struggled with our 16 adult filled train. There was plenty of clenching and squishing. We then headed over to ride The Comet, the park's junior woody! BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!! So getting Steel Dragon opened for us was definitely a treat... Robb hookin' up some Doo-Dads. A lovely lift hill shot. I didn't notice it to be any better than the one at Seabreeze, but it was definitely fun! Having ridden the clone at Seabreeze, I was looking forward to this as I heard it was the best. After an Applebee's lunch and our 52nd ride, we headed over to Steel Dragon! I had no idea they'd let us ride. We really weren't that anti-social I swear. Not nearly as exciting as those wheels. I had to do this. I felt special because the guy let me step off the station platform. The transfer track and pre-lift turn. It turned out to be a beautiful day. 3 minute break! My only chances to really take some pictures. And then we rode! I don't have any pictures of a full train, as I was always in it. It really appears much bigger in person. This is about as far as you can walk to see the ride. It's a beautiful little park. I tried to take some basic park shots while anxiously awaiting to ride. The last airtime hill. They did some empty morning runs. Ninety Degrees!!! (Arggg!) It's hard to get decent pictures of the ride from inside the park, so there aren't a ton. Some info. It was pretty chilly in the morning and for a while looked like it would rain. After entering we walked through the empty park to the ride where the group was gathering.
  3. ^It gives me a reason to not be at work or at school!
  4. That's great! I don't read as much as I'd like to, maybe I'll check it out. I work at a library, I'll keep an eye out for it, and if we don't have it after a while I can always make sure we get it. Congrats to your wife! -Nick
  5. Darien Lake needs: -A quality B&M, probably a floorless. -Predator re-tracked and single bench trains added. -A newer wooden, GCI will do. -An intamin drop tower. -An S&S frisbee. -An arrow or Vekoma mine coaster.
  6. ^I think it's safe to say that it's just the camera making the track look weird. If you watch the video looking back at the riders, you can see how messed up the camera makes them look. Plus, look at any picture showing some of the track, it's not all messed up.
  7. That's awesome, thanks for posting this! It looks kind of slow but I'm sure it'll speed up with time. Less than a week! -Nick
  8. A few friends and I were talking about all of this stuff the other day in Physics, and I was reminded of something hilarious that I've done many times. When it's time to get up but you're still half asleep, do you think about random completely crazy excuses as to why you can't get up yet? My friend's examples were things like "I have to wait for the penguin to take out the trash" or "The dinosaur isn't out of the shower yet", and I laughed so hard because I've come up with stuff just like that in my mind, only to realize what you're actually thinking. The other morning, I was semi dreaming that I was talking to my brother on the phone, but my eyes were sort of open so I saw myself laying in my bed and stuff. I was on my side holding my hand (with imaginary phone) up to my ear, and my alarm clock went off. I said out loud, "I gotta go", and just kind of dropped my hand to the side and got up to turn my alarm off.
  9. Don't say "etc..." after so many sentences. You can't etcetera on something like roller coaster elements, their names aren't similar at all, and the reader isn't going to be able to think in terms of "so on" when it comes to elements. You did it for roller coaster styles, flat rides, and water rides too. I said C, but change my mind to D.
  10. Thanks for the video! I LOVE how loud it is. It looks so fast! Less than two weeks! -Nick
  11. I'm pretty sure he meant Hershey, not Hard Rock.
  12. I didn't realize until last night that a man I'm in contact with a lot is quite famous. Carrie Aidele is the owner of a small theather down the street from me, and my brother has been one of the few helping to get the place going for years, with Carrie as his boss. Carrie has been in multiple TV shows, including the dad of Amanda Bynes in Moody's Point on the Amanda Show, and the dad of the kid whose dog gets eaten near the end of The Lost World Jurassic Park. It's just weird, that this is the guy that my mom babysits for, my brother works with, and I see around a lot. Just last night he was showing us to our seats at a comedy show at the theater. It's weird/neat.
  13. ^I think you can call that a fluke, most gay guys aren't gonna try something with you if they know you're straight. And that's just the gay ones, the straight ones wouldn't anyway. I don't think it's something that should really keep you from having any guy friends. -Nick
  14. I love when stuff like this happens, because you realize you get to go back to bed for a while. It's also fun the next day to realize how dumb your half asleep mind can be. I've woken up before, seen my clock saying 6:30AM (Time to get up), and literally just thought to myself, "No, my clock is lying." I didn't just think my clock was wrong, I thought it was lying to me. Then I realized it tells me the correct time, and I had to get up. I love sleepthinking. -Nick
  15. I work at the library, so I get to see a lot of magazines on a reglar basis, and usually just stop and read whatever stories catch my attention from the covers. Personally I like the Men's Fitness or Men's Health magazines. I am very much interested in keeping healthy, but the guys on the cover also play a part in grabbing my attention.
  16. Nothing did.
  17. Whatever that is under the tarp, it honestly looks like it's in between the tracks to me.
  18. IB looks like so much fun! Although I'm sure much of that lies on the people there! Everytime I see one of these videos I'm that much more excited for the east coast trip! Excellent video Robb and Elissa!
  19. Well, ever since joining Theme Park Review almost three years ago, it has been my dream to be this "Bonafide (rodent/donkey) expert". With this 1000th post, I have made it. This day will go down in history.
  20. ^It is most definitely a compliment! Especially the second picture, many similarities. -Nick
  21. Tearin' Up My Hear- NSync
  22. Because ink is too messy. Why is spray cheese so healthy?
  23. Crazy- Britney Spears.
  24. I really love Christina Aguilera's powerful voice.
