  1. I think that's more along the lines of stereotyping, and in many cases stereotypes can be true.
  2. ^^I read in a Psychology magazine how gaydar works. According to a study, it's based on scent. A gay man gives off a chemical in their sweat that other gays can detect through scent, although it's not something you can actually smell, you just sense it. Same thing for lesbians. They said it's built into our systems to guide us in finding mates.
  3. I'm looking forward to visiting this park sometime in the near future. It looks like an interesting ride, and despite the odd angles quite smooth. The barrel role to the ground looks like a lot of fun.
  4. ^^Thanks for posting that, the information is useful. I love how there's stuff like that, proof, but nope, still a choice to be gay. I morphed my own brain. Larger right hemispheres are sooo straight.
  5. To go along with parents accepting their kids...
  6. ^I wasn't emphasizing getting decapitated by a fence, I was simply showing how this event gets around to the general public, how much of what people pass on about an even such as this is no where near correct.
  7. I'm pretty sure I did after Top Thrill Dragster. And also after Ravine Flyer II, during the flim shoot, anytime we'd take a break I was quivery, a mix of sitting and riding for 20 consecutive rides or so.
  8. What one of my friends said to me earlier: "Hey Nick, did you hear about the kid that got decapitated at Darien Lake? He was climbing a fence. How do you get decapitated climbing a fence?" -Nick
  9. While reading through I got to agreeing that the church group could be blamed, they were responsible for an underage child, and he was killed. But then I thought, He's 17, they're not gonna keep him tied to a leash. I'm sure kids were allowed to go off in groups, because, as 17 year olds, you'd think they're smarter than to do something like that. I mean, I'm going on the East Coast Trip. I'm 17, so I'll be under R&E's care. But It's not like I'm staying with them for the entire trip. I'm able to go where I please, It's on me to not make an idiotic decision like that. I really don't even see this as the group's fault. It's all on the kid.
  10. I'm pretty sure the rights between Civil Unions and marriages are the same, otherwise, what would be the point in even creating civil unions if homosexuals wouldn't benefit from it? Last I heard, Civil Unions actually do offer less rights than a marriage.
  11. ^In my mind I was sort of going towards saying if people don't want it to be called marriage I'd be happy with it being called something else, but I expressed more that it should just be called marriage.
  12. That isn’t good enough...I'm offended by how the states wants to segregate the gay and straight people, its no different from when we segregated whites and blacks...its freaking archaic!!! I both agree and disagree. I feel like it should be called marriage, and should have been since there were man/woman marriages. There have always been gay people, it's never been wrong, and therefore marriage should have always been allowed for same sex couples. Some religions say it's wrong, and that's only because the people who started those religions at the time, believed it was wrong. Marriage should be for anyone, but if the majority of society has a hard time getting that, whatever, at least give us something with the same rights as a marriage. I guess I pretty much just agree with you.
  13. I can't believe the way some parents act towards their kids coming out. When I told my mom, she hugged me, and later on left me a 5 page letter saying how it's okay and how she's sure it's hereditary (It pops up throughout my family line). She no longer questions why so many of my friends are girls, and doesn't give it a second thought about me staying over at their houses. Most of my guy friends are straight, and even the ones that aren't, she doesn't worry about me hanging out with. I think it's because it's easier to see a gay guy with another gay guy than a straight guy with a girl, it comes off as less suspicious.
  14. That was such an awesome day, thanks for the update! I have no idea what was going through my mind in the second to last picture on the last page, I look like I'm about to burst into tears! That was such a cool experience, I'm so glad I got to be a part of it. -Nick
  15. The inside of that silo reminds me of one of the levels on Goldeneye 007. Good 'ol Nintendo 64.
  16. HAHA, the jump was awesome. I've always wanted to do something like this just never actually have. Someday... Happy belated birthday?
  17. This looks relaxing. I'm surprised how many people come out for it. I did a 33ish mile ride once, all downhill though. I'm surprised they only do it once a year, I wish I lived near someplace that did it!
  18. They're what runs against the drive tires to bring the train to the lift or the station, the wheels are off to the side of the track rather than in the middle of it. Photo by BRTeller
  19. It wasn't rough in a bad way at all. Just "wooden coaster rough". At the bottom of the first drop the transition from banked to flat to cross the bridge, in the second car I kept noticing a sort of loud snap sound, not that it made for an uncomfortable feeling, I just didn't like what sounded like track snapping. The only "rough" spots would be after the first side of the bridge, the left turn followed by the right turn. Again not rough, just sort of throws you, but I also had my lapbar somewhat loose. Hopefully it'll age well.

  21. We've come up right around $4.00. I'm glad I have a bike.
  22. The one thing about reporting spam though, why do we have to write something in the comments box? When I come across something that's clearly spam, I'll report it, but it won't let me unless I write something in the box, and I don't really know what I should say. I usually just say "spam". I'm just curious as to why there needs to be a comment box. -Nick
  23. I think some people may look at it as giving into temptation. I don't personally feel that way, but from a biblical standpoint I can see the problem. Thanks for describing it in a different way, I just don't understand how people can see it as a temptation when, if you're straight, there is no temptation to be with the same sex to begin with. Sorry, I'll stop now.
  24. I think it's awesome that you're not against gays, and I'll admit, there are times when I'll stereotype someone who's really religious as being against gays. I'm a Christian, along with my entire family. We've never been really strict with it, but believe in God nonetheless, but I've personally gotten away from a lot if it. My family knows I'm gay, along with some of my cousins, uncles, and other extended family, and is very open to it all and doesn't think any less of us. I don't want to go beating a dead horse, and maybe that's why nobody else has said anything, but I still feel obliged to do it. I don't know how something that isn't your choice can be a sin. You make a choice to lie, you make a choice to lust, you do not make a choice to be gay. I have memories from my childhood that are proof of my being gay. For me, I've never been attracted to women, and only to men. It's not anything I ever wanted to be, it's just something I am. I'm just living the way I was made, and if following the Christian beliefs, I'm just living the way I was made, by God. There's just so much evidence of it being genetic, like I said it pops up all throughout my family. Many gays I know have gay siblings, etc. I never did anything wrong, I'm just living the way I was meant to. -Nick
  25. I rode The Comet with you for a while. It sucks because I feel like we were all too busy having fun to really get to know names, we all just talked. Here's me up in the front right, unfortunately I didn't get anyone's name in the front car, let me know who you are! -Nick
