But are CGA and SFDK really competitors though? I remember back in 2011 when TPR did that Bay Area Day thing, the management at DK made it clear that they don't consider CGA a competitor for the reason that they kept taking stuff out and DK is putting stuff in. Now I know quite a bit has changed since then, but it still seems that everyone just goes to what ever park they've been going to and haven't stared rushing over to the other.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Andrewoplis replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Twisted Colossus. It was my first time on any rmc hybrid coaster and I fell in love with it! I rode it 5 times in a row thanks to the single rider queue. Seriously awesome coaster! -
Also, ALT2870, what don't you like about Medusa? I'm not trying to be a crazed fanboy or tear you a new one or anything. It's just that I've never really heard of anyone who did at least "Like" it. So I'm just curious. To me it is just another cookie cutter B&M, once you ride one you ride them all. I'll admit at least they have the sea serpent role to try to make it unique. As for the pockets, he quickly figured that out. I can agree with you on that one, many of b&m's floorless coasters have the same basic layout or at least a similar layout to either Kumba or Dragon Khan. Also, can't wait to hear what becomes of Roar next year!

SFDK could really use a drop ride to round out its flat rides, but the problem is the 150ft height limit. Most drop towers are at least 200-300ft tall, so I don't think a 150ft drop tower would excite anyone. Your idea of going into the ground for a longer drop would help solve that problem, I just don't know how feasible it is to dig a 50 foot hole. There are lots of great towers out there that aren't that tall. Those crazy Larson towers, S&S towers can be made to be about any height, or how about those Fabbri towers that shoot you down rather than just drop you? Any of those would be perfect for the park and would provide a great ride.

Yeah the paper avoided mentioning the park, saying "Cedar Fair park near San Francisco" or something, which didn't explicitly say it but made it obvious. Same thing with the RMC job posting that gave away the Roar makeover. It just said "Project is in CA" and by process of elimination we know it really can't be anything other than Roar, especially as loose lipped employees at SFDK have been warning guests that Roar will be closing later this year. The CA project could be GhostRider. Knott's GM has talked about celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ghost Town and implied GhostRider would be getting some love. I can definitely see that happening and as amazing as it would be, I don't think Ghost rider is the project RMC listed for CA. It's been flying around the forum that Six Flags has only one RMC conversion project lined up for next year, and when you consider that they no longer own a park in Kentucky or a park in Pigeon Forge, SFDK it is! Though I really hope Knott's goes through with the "Ghost rider love", I don't even have to say how much that ride could use it.

Lake Compounce Discussion Thread

Those who prefer boomerangs can walk across the park and keep the line short for me. Or they can drive 45 minutes to Six Flags New England where they have 2 boomerangs! While a standard model, this is an excellent addition to the park. I rode Superman at SFDK last summer and it was my favorite ride in the park. The ride is non-stop intensity from start to finish with powerful launches and major air-time. The ride also has a really small footprint and will be very marketable (first launched coaster in New England). THIS! Seriously, I've been riding Superman since the day it opened and it still remains one of my favorite coasters! They fit an action packed ride into a very small space and it's just a barrel of laughs the whole way through. Anyone on here who is mad about this addition has either never ridden one or is just upset that it's not a 500ft tall RMC 4D Aquatrax with fire and fog. This will make a wonderful new addition to what looks to be an already wonderful park. -
Big Surprises on Coasters

X2 Just... X2! -
I originally thought there was no way they would do an rmc treatment on Roar. It seemed to popular with younger riders mostly due to the fact that it "didn't do loops". But now that I think about it, it makes complete sense. Roar, like all the other rmc candidates, is an old, beat up woodie that is constantly having to be retracked and has really lost its charm. There are plenty of other things in the park for people with "loop-o-phobia" to do, and a major new coaster is just what the park needs. (Or at least what we need! ) I really hope this rumor holds true because I can't what to see what crazy, isane awesomeness rmc has in store!

I'll definitely look more into getting line skip passes at the U.K. parks. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi everyone! Throughout the month of June, I'm going to get the chance to head over to Europe and will get to visit some of the parks that they have over there. Now, to get right to the point, the reason I'm on here is because I'm wondering if I could get some help when it comes to dealing with crowds and the best way I could hit up the parks that I'm going to. In order, they are: Tivoli Gardens Bakken Bon Bon Land Hansa Park Thorpe Park Alton Towers Blackpool I'm mostly wondering what the crowds might look like at these parks during June (With the top of the list being earlier in the month and the bottom being towards the end), and any tips and tricks you might have about any of these parks? I'm asking this to anyone on the forum, so I'm not sure if this is the right thread to put my question in, but since this is a thread about questions, that's where I put it. Oh, and a bit of a side note, something to keep in mind is that this trip more of a family vacation, so the point of this trip is more about just enjoying the countries and places we are going to and not just about the parks. Which means that a suggestion about traveling out of the way to hit up some obscure park isn't incredibly helpful. Thanks!

They could easily have the ride hop over the midway into the mostly unused foresty area by the rapids ride and Top Gun's brake run. Yes they could, didn't even think about that. That being said, a Hyper would be nice. Agreed, and they totally have the room for it as others have said. It may not happen right away, but I could easily see one being added sometime in future since the park could still use another major coaster or two. Imagine if they brought back that Morgan hyper with the elevator lift they were planning back in the 90's!

I was surprised they didn't pick Twisted Colossus for California, especially since they picked Wicked Cyclone for MA. It did seem like they were trying to promote a lot of new rides that opened or are opening. Twisted Colossus? Why promote that when you have yet another AMAZING giant loop ride opening at SFDK?! I mean, they're so good, that Great Adventure's hasn't even opened yet and it's already better than El toro!

Man, that sucker really flies! Should be a real winner for both the park and the guests. But the funny thing is, after watching that video, I now have a really strange and bizarre feeling. The feeling... of actually wanting to go to Magic Mountain! Also, I'm really glad the park is continuing to clean up some of the mangier areas, the new area looks great!
