  1. Yes and No. Chance was the North American sales/service contact for Vekoma. This partnership ended in 2012. Steel Lasso is indeed a Vekoma design that was sold by Chance.
  2. S&S towers (at least the one I use to operate) are designed to lower slowly back to the ground in the event of a loss of power. Correct. Even if the E-Stop is pressed (Which basically tricks the PLC into thinking there's a power interruption) the passenger cart will VERY slowly return to the load/unload position. Supreme Scream @ KBF as an example, will take a good 5-8 minutes to return to the ground.
  3. Agreed! I miss Freefall @ SFMM to be honest.
  4. The hype is still there regardless if it leaked or not.
  5. I just now noticed those!! Those look to be pieces to a catwalk but I could be wrong....
  6. Look at the difference between these photos: You'll notice a difference in the rail tie design. X-Flight @ SFGAm Source And the Centurion Fury 360 Swarm BANG track delivered to Carowinds:
  7. ^^"Mild Ejector Air" = Not nearly as good as "Intamin air" but "It's better than nothing."
  8. In my opinion? MILD ejector air can be found on Nitro.
  9. Won't be an employee for long.....
  10. ^Is it bad that I find this hilarious?
  11. Based on my personal operational experience with XC, I will say that it is a lot more reliable with only 1 train.
  12. Yes the entire train is monitored as a whole. Each car has an electrical cable as there is only 1 bus-rail contact underneath car 3 or 4 which releases restraints and also monitors if the restraints are in the proper position.
  13. 1. Gatekeeper has some issues with what seems to be the lift as there's a crane on site. At least there was yesterday..... 2. Only an hour? Not too bad. 3. If riders are stopped on a train outside of the station it is always a good idea for an operator to be sent out to talk to them. This keeps the riders calm and keeps them from doing something stupid like trying to get out of the restraints. I don't know the particular reason why the train was stopped or how Mean Streak's Lift starting procedures work but some coasters are programmed to where the lift has to be started locally at the bottom of the lift so it doesn't hurt to walk up there to talk to them.
  14. Did you read what he was wearing? I don't see that as appropriate for a public place either. My thoughts exactly. Park did nothing wrong here.
  15. ^^Sierra Sidewinder (2007), Pony Express (2008), and Coast Rider (2013) all say "Hi." My Point Being: Just because there was a family coaster installed doesn't mean the next one has to be a "thrilling" coaster. I would LOVE to see a decent sized (150ft+) coaster installed at VF but I don't think it's going to happen.
  16. Yea, I definitely don't see VF getting a 300ft+ coaster. A small family coaster? Absolutely.
  17. Same thing that happens to all of SF coaster's effects after their opening year.
  18. Something along the lines of iSpeed would be a nice addition to SFGAdv.
  19. ^Agreed. "Blackfish" hasn't been brought up in a while thank goodness. This article and the ignorant comments that followed make me cringe and lose even more faith in society.
