  1. ^Exactly......the cables will be weighed DOWN once cars are installed thus pulling the cable away from CH's track. Clearance looks OK to me. Anyone know if any of the other trains have been delivered?
  2. As long as it goes over how much clearance do you need?
  3. If it's true, Rocky Mountain will be enjoying the nice spike in business. Colossus could return to be the beast it once was...........I hope
  4. Attraction concept art/video usually differs from final product. Happens a lot.
  5. Clearly a typo. As in the 1st sentence of the paragraph below it says "Wingrider." In any case glad to see that B&M has thought "outside of the box." I can see CF and SF purchasing at least 1 each. Cedar Point 2012?
  6. Windseeker seats have arrived! I'm really liking the "free" restraint design. From their Facebook
  7. ^^Hmmm......very similar to Wingwalker which is Intamin's official name for their trains if I'm not mistaken. Both names are fitting I'll admit.
  8. ^Thank you. I saw on CNN last night that 2 different backup core cooling mechanisms stopped working. They had a Diesel generated cooling system and electric pump system and both stopped working. Scary to say the least.
  9. ^That would be awesome. Hoping this new design from B&M proves to be successful.
  10. It'll be similar to the floorless train evacuation design I'd imagine.
  11. At 7:49 this morning it wasn't.
  12. Looks like a lot to do in 18 days....
  13. As well as the Orange County fairgrounds in Costa Mesa but EBL is correct, they are scarce.
  14. I personally like speed. Not as good as Mr. Freeze @ SFStL or SFOT however still a quality coaster nonetheless. I mean where else can you be launched immediately after exiting a vertical loop?! 6 hours is a long drive though...... Desperado is a little rough for my taste and I don't even like walking by RollerManhattanExpressCoaster, let alone riding it.
  15. ^His new show is called "Two And A Half Grams"
  16. It's a tough call, especially if an entire coaster was re-tracked with that system. I think I'd want to still call it a wooden coaster just to piss off the wood coaster aficionados who will claim it's no longer a wood coaster, you know, the same people who want to make the claim that El Toro isn't a wood coaster either. These people clearly have issues! Now Robb it should be common knowledge that for a wooden coaster to be claimed as such, the track needs to consist of at least 80% Yellow Pine. Hopefully someone senses my horrible attempt at sarcasm
  17. ^^Supposedly that's because of the guests in rooms complaining of noise. I don't buy it though.
  18. Here's an article on Bloomberg Didn't care for the hotel much but Speed is a great coaster. Hopefully an amusement park operator will step in and purchase it. Better yet, for a small donation I can rent a couple Uhauls and transport it somewhere to rebuild it.
  19. These types of attractions are great cause they are low cost and fantastic for families that want to enjoy an attraction together.
  20. Exactly. I personally think it's a good idea. I don't believe Topper track has been installed on any coasters long enough yet for a park to see cost difference in maintenance. In theory it'll pay for itself in a few years I'd imagine.
  21. I like the new design myself. Makes it easier to put the fins on an incline. The previous design had to be on a straight section of track.
