Photo TR: Opening Day Krake at Heide Park
crazywolf88 replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Look at this: In the krake vid still there are black lines that look like they mark where the wrecked boat (theming)should be and thus they are waiting for the rest of the theming to be finished before they put the mouth in(I suppose they will break it in half and put it back together). Proof that the mouth will be in place and the size comparison shows that it was not a miscalculation and just improv theming until they could finish the real theming.(since the oblivion trains are wider than the krake trains, the krake trains should fit perfectly according to this) -

^ That price also includes theming, shipment(the parts were made in the USA)design, construction ect. Griffon was cheaper since it was built in the USA(less shipping prices), had hardly any theming, was built when steel prices were lower, and used the old brakes. EDIT: The mouth was probably put aside for the soft opening and when the tunnel section is finished they will put the mouth in. -

^LOL. That math puzzle is better than one at my math classes, oh wait, anything that includes TPR is better than anything that does the same thing (TR,pictures, videos, magazines, ect.) -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
crazywolf88 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As said earlier the changes were to reduce wear and tear on the wheels and not the forces, the turn rises so it is not going at top speed but the turn tightens so you still get the blackout g forces. Since the turn is tighter the second hill has to have a steeper drop which means more airtime . See what a simple change can do? KD reverted InTRIMidator back to it's nearly original, almost untrimmed epic form. -

How is the loading procedure? FB has a line on one side and people walk over the center of the ride to get to the other side. X2 has lines on both sides and from what I hear, it takes forever for a train to dispatch. I have also noticed that all of the inversions twist to the left, the left side of the train looks to be getting more negatives and the right side is getting a less intense experience with the inversions... Bottom line is the right side a different experience from the left side? -

I always thought of this as a cheaper steel coaster, wood supports are cheaper to produce than steel and you could have overbanks steep drops and batshit airtime(proven by the giant)so theoretically you could create a copy of expedition geforce using wooden coaster trains and cheaper wood supports which now, with the leftover money you saved, you could add THEMING. EDIT: According to coasterforce NTG is getting Bizarro/SFNE's fire effects.

The video of the drop started at the point the holding brake usually turned off. The brake was ON the entire time, which means a crapload of airtime . On another note, the immelman looks sweet and the airtime hill looks to be quite powerful, but that could change when the water brake gets added in(imagine the hight of the water plumes at that speed!)The immelman could get some hangtime if it slows down enough when the water feature gets added in. -

The drop is finally connected to the holder! although it looks like the drop section is off by a few feet to the rest of the structure, hopefully I'm wrong. I don't even live in Germany or even think of visiting for a while, this project just interests me. To answer a previous response, oblivion's drop is more powerful than Griffon's drop because it is shorter and needs to reach 90* faster, so the drop is sharper than Griffon's -

Being able to choose what kind of tunnel to use, for example: a terrain tunnel which cuts the hills and ground into a concrete or steel (your choice) tunnel or ditch with your choice of degrees of the sides and shape of the bottom/top.Also being able to place water anywhere instead of just at the lowest part of the map with tunnels that could go through water, as well as custom shaped tunnels. -

I'll go with the great american scream machine, it was at once the record breaker for number of inversions and height, it was also old and is dead (torn down 2010) Obi wan was killed by darth vader. -

The blue B&M's first drop looks more like a slc, but of course this is a B&M. It's nice to see them step to finally putting a dive loop on a invert and a zero-G roll on possibly a standup, but what strikes me more is them making a new type of ride 6 years after the flying coaster. (the dive machine re-makes don't count to me) This is a big year for B&M. -
How would putting the trims later in the ride alter the first turn. The trims were added because the first turn was too tight, in a perfect world intamin would have added a launch up the next hill to bring it back up to speed. Thankfully intamin and kings dominion is tearing down, and rebuilding the first turn and second hill, making the turn wider so I305 will re-claim its record for the fastest gravity powered roller coaster in the world EDIT:I meant the country, not the world.

Cool, a dive machine-euro fighter-floorless with a four person higher capacity if the third car isn't added
