  1. Well, lots of parks are in tight corners. My home park, SFGAm, has to resort to removing/relocating newer rides in order to bring in newer product. For instance, if the park were to remove Demon, they would first receive major rebuttal from nostalgic folk, yet also have a very tough time trying to fit something in without removing massive amounts of things. Same goes for nearly all the other coasters at the park. As for mass removal, log flumes. Most are far past their life cycles, and require specially made parts.
  2. ^ Not quite sure based on your choice of words, but if I read correctly, X-Flight is not in Iron Wolf's space. Chicago is being hit with loads of snow, but I'm told it's not holding back construction.
  3. Announcement GLADOS HEIGHTS - Local amusement park, Thrill Mountain, today announces their plans for next season. Park President Jason Thompson spoke to us earlier today about how the park plans to move forward, "We have an outstanding park, and a very profitable park at that. While we are able to get locals into the park, it is proving to be very difficult to attract attention from beyond a 100-mile radius." He continues to speak about how they plan to expand the park, "We need to live up to the words in our name, we are a 'THRILL' park. That's why we are making huge investments for next season, including the tallest and fastest coaster in the world." "At 460ft tall, Top Speed is the world's tallest coaster. Riders will accelerate through a launch tunnel with distortion arches at over 127mph." Details are just that, but when one takes a look at the coaster, it is a monstrosity. The park will not only be adding a huge thrill coaster, but will also add a new themed area, as a part of a government grant to improve tourism. The area will include three flat rides, a drop tower and a Wild Mouse roller coaster. Chubasco is a classic 'tea-cups' ride. Southern Flyer seats riders in plane shaped carriages. The Raging Plague will take riders through many hair-pin turns. Mine Drop simulates the long and strenuous mine descent. The park will not only be making these large additions, but Jason continues to say, "We came into a park that had sat dormant for nearly 9 years, lots of improvements had to be made, and are still being done until today. One major improvement that we're planning is a completely new entrance, as today's entrance is lackluster at best." The current turnstyle building. Thrill Mountain Amusement Park will reopen on April 7 with new pricing. One-Day admission is now $34.99 and a Season Pass is $97.99. See you in April!
  4. I don't think anyone can ride any of those coasters "multiples times." I may be able to ride multiple times though! I do think that it's great there's more filming of the coasters, so that there isn't anymore footage from defunct rides, or parks that are no longer in the Six Flags chain.
  5. Seems like it would work, if only it wasn't going to SFSt.L.
  6. ^Except that it actually IS a TTD clone! --- August As the summer season comes to a close, one of our newest attractions is coming to a close! At 3:12PM today, we topped off and named our newest coaster! Logo for the tallest, and fastest coaster in the world, TOP SPEED! Officially topped off!!! (Now to that pesky launch system...) At night, a beautiful fireworks show behind the giant tower took place! yet another night shot of the breathtaking tower! Speaking of towers... More soon!!!
  7. August I've got a little update for you guys, and since you seem to love me (or is it just the park, I don't know.), It's a big one! I've also got a BIG announcement! I'd like to invite you all to join me on August 21 to top off our newest attraction, and to unveil all of our plans for next year! So close!!! You can do it..! Now I'm confused, is that a ride, or a building?! Unfortunetly, Demon's Inferno wasn't open today! Woo! Let's get crazy on Typhoon!!! Get ready to............SPLASH! We've recently opened this small bistro. Dean's Cafe is open to all guests today! Here's an overview of Typhoon, because you all love it so much! I'll see you all on August 21!
  8. St. Louis is one of the smaller, lower yielding parks in the chain. When Six Flags only needs to invest $X amount for that season to see higher or equal yields, then they will only invest that much. Six Flags can't just please you or other enthusiasts. Also, the Sky Screamers are awesome, and so is Riptide Bay (Bonzai Pipeline)!
  9. July Just a quick update, we've been making great progress on our new attractions (YES, MORE THAN ONE!) lined up for next year! More information on them soon! It's a bird... It's a plane.. It's CONSTRUCTION. I don't know what this contraction is. But it looks AWESOME! I spy with my little eye... CONCRETE! More yellow poles. I just cannot fathom what this could be!
  10. I must say, a red coaster is a welcomed addition to the skyline. Now, if we can just repaint Batman!
  11. June 30 Demon's Inferno Now Open! It's taken a bit of hard work, but it's all payed off, because Demon's Inferno is finally open, and has passed the strict inspection codes of the city of Gallos Heights. We're please to present to you, yet another update of the happenings at Thrill Mountain! We're no responsible for the loss of your soul. We're already hard at work on the future of the park. I can guarantee BIG things! A midway full of happy guests! Even more clearing?! We are up to something, aren't we! Now, to leave you with a smile!
  12. Opening Day Well, the big day is here, the park has had it's grand opening, and we've opened the doors to over 10,000 unique guests on our first day of operations! We're very excited for the future of the park, and we know you will be too. Yes, I know something you don't know and I'll be teasing you forever! Onto the pictures: Unfortunetly, Demon's Inferno just isn't ready for opening. We won't open a ride unless we know it's 110% safe! Many families enjoyed this garden as an area to cool off from the heat this weekend! The Typhoon is here! Riders absolutely LOVE Typhoon! many chose Vortex to help relieve themselves from the immense heat! The unique backwards drop creates an insane sensation of disbelief! While not the tallest Ferris Wheel in the world, ours is quite a stunner! Without a doubt, riders are in for a treat! (A bitter-sweet treat!!) King Chaos is a true chaos machine! Even though Demon's Inferno was closed, the effects and trains were testing all day, we're aiming for a mid-June opening! The story is one of tragedy. This aircraft crashed into a construction site in an industrial district. We plan to theme all of our rides! Vortex is one nice water flume! Be prepared to endure the Demon's Inferno! More VERY soon!
  13. Dubstep of any sort is my shit. There's no stopping a drop that heavy.
  14. Heating Up Things are heating up here as there's only ONE WEEK until opening day! Wow how the days have flown past us! I was authorized to share a few photos from last night's testing session: Soar at speeds of up to 70mph after a heart pounding launch on Demon's Inferno! Things are still hot across the pond at Typhoon with seven inversions! But, it's finally time to cool off over at Vortex with a bone chilling 65ft drop! Demon's Inferno is blazing over here! More in just a week!
  15. Jason Thompson I've received word that all the recent activity at the site of the park is from a developer known as Jason Thompson. I contacted Jason with a request for more information. He responded with a job offer in Public Relations and some photos of the park. I accepted his offer and I'm starting in just a few days. I'll be keeping you all up to date. I thought I'd tease you with some photos: A new Intamin creation will grace the park come May 30th! (Name pending..) Testing has begun on the newly revamped water flume, Vortex. With a new coat of paint and trains, Typhoon will shock riders with seven inversions! Also, just a small detail, the park will open on May 30th as Thrill Mountain Amusement Park.
  16. Unknown Park Six years ago, a large chain company wanted to construct an amusement park, so they started construction here. The company fell under new management who didn't want to pursue the amusement park. The park was abandoned, leaving buildings, rides and products sitting around with no owner. Even this immaculate ferris wheel was installed completely, yet now is missing gondolas and needs severe work. Huge plots of land were unearthed just to lay empty for years. Record breaking rides at the time, were never operated, and were eventually surpassed. Now, the park's signature attraction lays dormant. The city of Gladas Heights will vote to have the property leveled on November 1. Something inside of me wants this park to have a second chance. Only time may tell us..
  17. I see them, now that you pointed it out, and that makes a lot more sense!
  18. That final inversion needs to be a bit bigger, it seems too small and tight (haha) for a B&M coaster. Almost like a JoJo roll..
  19. Awesome report! loved every bit!
  20. Can't say I know what park it's from, but you've got an amazing park here!
  21. "Yeah, we're getting Deja Vu back cause the park in Kentucky closed down." From my friend at SFGAm. I honestly wanted to puke..
  22. I think that the park will really make Goliath a great experience. cannot wait to ride!
  23. Thanks for the report! It's awesome to see Black Diamond up and running. Now if they only got Flying Turns open..
  24. I think Goliath will be a phenomenal addition to the park, and might boast some surprises!
  25. Six Flags Great America on October 30th!
