  1. Raging Bull is fairly unique, I like Viper too.
  2. Awesome! Love to see that Iron Wolf has a new and accepting home! Beautiful looking coaster, how's the "roughness?"
  3. ^ OMGGGG I KHANT WATE!!!! And for anyone wishing for a launched coaster, that doesn't seem likely unless V2 is outta the park. That's what our future looks like..
  4. A little birdie told me that SFGAm will be going a little loco in 2013...
  5. ^ If you look over at the entire description, the Diamondback snake is the state snake of Georgia. And other than that, it's still 1971, treated wood was not developed for roller coasters at this time, therefore requiring paint.
  6. 1971 We've worked so hard this winter to deliver a very exciting slew of new additions! This season, on top of all of our previous attractions, we will operate Diamondback, the tallest, fastest wooden coaster in the world! Embrace quick turns and huge drops on this state-of-the-art coaster! We have also expanded our Marine World area with three new attractions, Riptide a fast paced star-fish attraction, a breathtaking whale show, including our two wales, Nina and Sally, as well as Lobster's Shanty(OPENS MID-SUMMER). Marine World has been significantly increased in size! Parachute Drop was given new colors to match the area! The whale show with Nina and Sally is so much fun for all ages! Riptide is hidden and gives off a very nice vibe. Lobster's Shanty was delayed overseas and has not been able to come in on time. We're sorry for the inconvenience! Southern Splashdown is just as much fun! Greene Swings still have a very surprising kick! Diamondback dominates the entire skyline! named after the state snake, this coaster offers loads of air-time! After riders climb the 10-story lift hill, they plunge 98ft. to the ground and into a "W" hill full of air-time! Catch your breath for a few seconds... Because you're about to plunge 70ft into a tunnel! Experience a twist like never before with this "DNA" twist which is quite exciting Finish it off with a quick air-time hump, and into the turn to the brakes! Thank you for reading!
  7. 1970 We're a few weeks away from closing for the season, this is the last I'll be able to update you for this season! A look at what's going on over here, certainly something large! More expansion is expected over here next season! Very exciting stuff! A large plot of land is already cleared for the expansion. A stairway to Heaven! See you next season!
  8. When Ride Ops hollar over the planned announcement. "Welcome back, when the train comes to a com-WELCOME BACK HOW WAS CHOOOO RIDDDEEEE?????!!!! PUSH DOWN AND PULL UP AND YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!"
  9. Six Flags isn't TRYING to make the ride suck, their trying to make it WORK. Honestly, this is Intamin's fault for making a craptastic system to go along with a great coaster. Since when was Magic Mountain the park to compare? How about comapring Great America to Cedar Point. That's a much more fair comparison. And in my opinion Six Flags > Cedar Fair
  10. Looks like I was right about Wild Eagle < X-Flight! X-Flight truly is a phenomenal coaster and as Hank put it, "was well overdue."
  11. Sorry for the hiatus! I've been quite overwhelmed with a few other things going on in my life. But, I'm back! --- 1970 We're already nearing the end of our first season of operations. Can you believe it? We're already deep into our planning for the coming season! Today was a fairly empty day. Southern Splashdown won't be the only full-circuit attraction come next year! Parachute drop will still be the tallest, though. This is our new first aid building! Myself, standing alongside John Allen and our Projects development leader, Tim Rey. Checking out our new prospects! This midway is truly beautiful. More soon!
  12. Yeah, I would agree. I don't think they can do much more the first year than get the place up and running again. dt Unless that's total investment for NEW attractions? That would make quite a bit more sense. Ed Hart was putting the reopening alone at something like $27M.
  13. ^ No sign, but park has confirmed it will be back! Also, going through the hangar is themed as a "pit stop" and the tower is "Gurnee control."
  14. Where else are they going to put them... Boneyard can't handle that much crap back there. Why not just keep them in okay condition for a sale or move around the chain?
  15. ^^ If everything goes acording to the plans, then the water element will be similar to that of Manta.
  16. Looks great! can't wait to see how the EPIC theming looks on this amazing coaster. Even if they choose to keep the supports maroon, it fits the theme just fine.
  17. I think it's important to note that the GP haven't been bothered at all by the lack of construction, seen anyone complaining on the facebook page that it "doesn't look like it will be done on time?" I have no idea exactly how long it takes to put up a drop ride of this kind, but I'm sure it's not too long..
  18. ^ Thankfully, almost all of the ad contracts have expired.
  19. ^ Just based off of other parks, quite low. Two years ago I saw about 20 cars parked at SFGAm on Easter Sunday.
  20. Do those supports even touch the coaster? Tell me, do you ever see peeps even using 1/10 of those paths? I'd honestly recommend you boost your graphics settings, because your work is being held back severely by it.
  21. Whoever this is for, rule out Six Flags. X-Flight's track wasn't fabricated until late August, and SF always gets track later than all other customers, mostly due to Six Flags wanting a later ship date. My gamble is that this is for a park outside of the US. For everyone saying anything even similar to this, have you been completely isolating yourself from anything said by anyone at Six Flags? Their goal is to create "news" at every park every single season. With the five-year plans that parks have submitted, almost all parks have three coasters, others have two. Just take some time to listen and read over what is being said, might be beneficial.
  22. 1971 It's official, the park is open! After a year of hard work in 1970, Greene Hills Amusment Park is now open, and we have a nice little video for you all to see: Fast Feet is a guest favorite, as it offers a classic dining experience with great food! The midways look even better with guests! Guests have been clamoring over Sky Wheel! Greene Swings didn't get as much of a response, but guests certainly love them! We want you to splash into the tallest log flume at Greene Hills in 1971!
  23. ^ my understanding is that it will be open to Season pass holders on the 12th ALL DAY, and then on the 15th it opens to the GP.
  24. ^^ Seems like the opening day of X-Flight is the 15, and from what they've said "Season pass holders" get to ride on the 12. Which is a little confusing, because they haven't clarified if it's just Xtreme pass holders, or regular pass holders.
