  1. Expand Boomerang Bay into where? Remove more rides for that? Look, at this point ANY type of coaster, spinning or not, would be very welcome. And when you say spinning rides what do you mean....flat rides? Last time I checked there are no coasters there that 'spin' so a ZacSpin would be a very nice addition. Rides that don't spin... Demon Grizzly Drop Tower Psycho Mouse Logger's Run White Water Falls Flight Deck Vortex (Invertigo) Hmm, that's funny, out of those major rides NONE of them spin. Yeah I totally agree! I've never had the pleasure of riding one of these but it looks like you get a lot of 'fun' out of a ride with such a small footprint.
  2. I'm going to call it right now.... If all goes well, in the near future we will see a Zacspin or small Eurofighter in the Invertigarden and a great new coaster, probably steel, in the WWF/old Whizzer/Pictorium area.....if needed sound wall and all- screw you neighbors! You know, there is plenty of space over and around Logger's Run and over the water for a coaster, hmmmmm.
  3. Wow, that is a lot of benches, there must be hundreds!....lol
  4. Exactly. Why would they do something expensive, elaborate, and permanent if it was going to get taken out (soon hopefully) anyway?
  5. Too early to tell and nobody knows yet what is going to happen next year, but we all hope its something coaster-good. "Inverti-Garden"......I like that. Maybe to commemorate what used to be there they should plant some upside down plants in the middle with one of those photo oportunity spot signs naming it as the "Inverti-Garden". I hope, I PRAY that a wonderful coaster goes in this park somewhere, could be anywhere, next year......its needs several soooo badly! This is my home park, the park I grew up in riding Willard's Whizzer, Bottoms Up (remember that one?), Yankee Clipper, The Edge, Tidal Wave (my favorite), the original Fiddler's Fling, the Pictorium (they used to show a movie that had things like flyhing off a cliff in a hang glider, riding Colossus at MM, and other awesome stuff that made you feel like you were actually doing it), Sky Whirl, and so on. I even worked there one summer, it was the most fun I have ever had working at a job! It makes me very sad that things are like they are with the bitchy neighbors, the 49ers B.S., and CF seeming not to care. And through all of this nonsense the park management has done an outstanding job keeping the place running and always looking clean and beautiful. I have to commend them for making the best of a horribly bad situation, it can't be easy and I'm sure is very frustrating. I wish I wish I wish things would/will turn around and we see some great additions and a long life for CGA in the future. Bash me if you want, disagree with everything I've said...... I don't care. This is how I feel about Great America, nobody can ruin that for me......NOBODY!
  6. Well think of it this way, if you were not going to put a ride in that spot until next season, would you just leave a dirt patch that looks terrible and is in plain view of the GP or would you at least landscape it so it looks nice? Great America has always been very good at their landscaping and keeping it well maintained and with something like this there is no way they would just leave a dirt patch sitting there for a whole season.....why do that when you can make it look nice. Besides this isn't that expensive and can be easily torn out for a new ride.
  7. I don't have a picture but its a trough way up high (I think it might even be on a little fake wood building or some big rocks) that sticks out and its at the turn near where the water from the upper channel spills down some rocks on the side of the hill to the lower channel, just before the geysers--- it's been awhile since I've been on it so maybe I have that backwards and the geysers come first, but in any event it's there, and I do remember getting soaked twice back in the day and it was at night and very windy, man I was freezing!
  8. That is exactly where it is. Early on in this ride's life that trough did shower water all the way across the channel. I remember riding it, I believe it was somewhere in the '89 to '92 season and getting totally soaked by that thing....then getting more soaked by the geysers! This was also when the last "gate" that spaces the rafts was different. It did not have two sides like it does now, only one and sometimes it would go back up as a raft was passing it, lifting the raft a little. I believe Intamin changed to the current design because of a similar incident or to prevent one. Although back then, I don't remember there ever being one of these gates at the beggining of the ride like there is now. Glad its back up to its full-soaking potential.
  9. That's funny, I will have to have a look see.
  10. ABW, Gumball explained perfectly what I meant..."a nice sized shower covering the entire width of the river channel"
  11. I rode RRR back in the day, when that trough went all the way across with water. If it's anything like it was before then you will get soaked! I've noticed that squeak too on Vortex and I believe it's the train slipping a little on the drive tires at the bottom of the lift as they grab it, always done that as far as I can remember. Sometimes or if the tires in the station are worn a little, when the train it brought in and they slow it down you can hear that 'squeal' as well, sounds kind of cool.
  12. I'm betting this landscaping is just an inexpensive fix just for this season. After all its better to have a nice landcaped spot than just an eyesore of a dirt patch, its cheap and temporary and looks good for the time being. Then when they are ready to put in the new ride, the landscaping can be easily removed. It totally makes sense and a Zacspin would fit perfectly there.
  13. Oh yeah BJs, mmm good food there. When I go to Magic Mountain there is one nearby that I like to eat at.
  14. Haha, yeah it is. They are packing up now. Did you ride the drop tower?
  15. After looking at it more I would say its closer to 40 feet, or about 4 stories tall. ^Yeah that's it, the Larson "Super Shot" or in this case maybe just the "Shot" Larson Super Shot
  16. The markers, for all we know, could just be for electrical or sewer lines, or maybe a new ride? Hmm, does anybody know if a sewer line ran under Invertigo? Maybe the circle is for the foundation of a giant super restroom, that would explain the sewer line..lol Someone asked if a coaster could fit there? Well, there used to be one there, so there's your answer. I would be ok with a Windseeker, kind of stupid as SFDK it getting one, but at least it would be a ride.... something! If they really wanted to they could shoe horn a coaster in that area, or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe the circle is where they are going to put a nice big decorative fountain.
  17. So at the mall across the street from my work, about 3 to 4 times a year they close off part of the parking lot for events. Sometimes its a circus, an RV sale, or a carnival. This past couple of weeks the carnival has been there and this time they brought with them this ride... I had to take the picture from across the street because I was "working" at the time, but in the center you can see a mini drop tower, its the thing with the red lights on top. I estimate it to be 50 feet tall, maybe taller- its hard to tell, don't know the make, but the cool thing I thought is just like the Intamin drop towers it has magnetic braking. I couldn't get close enough to take a pic but when I drove by earlier you could clearly see them on the bottom of the tower. So, would you ride it? I just might have to go over there on my lunch to try it!
  18. No that is not correct. According to the United States Postal Service, the designation or abbreviation for the state of Oregon is OR...so it would in fact be "ORGASM"...... Besides that did you totally not get the joke?
  19. ^^I forgot about that one. ^That makes sense, its more of a guest safety measure.
  20. Tidal Wave had a covered station. Stealth had a covered que line at the station. Demon has a covered que line at the station. Drop Tower has a shaded que. Logger's Run has a covered station. Endeavor/Enterprise/Revolution (whatever) has a covered station que. Yankee Clipper had a covered station. And of course Grizzly has a covered station. The woodie that never was probably would have had a covered station. I don't know the logic of whether or not they decided a station/que on a ride should be covered. Several rides were/are yet several are not, there is just no sense to it. Whizzer was not covered and used drive tires so I don't know.
  21. LOL, that makes it pretty clear!
  22. I really liked Zonga too, whenever we went I would MAKE everybody ride it...lol.
