  1. No, you are not the only one… I “love” the original (Anton Schwarzkopf) front car “nose” or “face” - as you said - by the first and second generation from the Looping-Racers, and also the portable Loop- and Non-Loop Coasters so much like you do. Respect for your taste, by the way - with your 16 years! Singer Billy Idol would surely say SWEET 16...! But all in all (to my opinion), I have to say also: The new fresh train-look from company Gerstlauer Amusement Rides is really O.K. and I like it, no doubt (only lapbars-style and feeling; the headrest-style for example and quite the rest of the new train…), EXCEPT TO the FRONT car with its new designed “NOSE”/”FACE”, which I personally have to get used to it yet/I still have to customize (like you, RollerCoasterSmi)… What I like really from the new design by the company Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH as well - are the new wheel assemblies in retro-style of the 1970s: OMG…so K!ck @$$: good job… really awesome: Respect!!! ^As a little technical fetishist (like Queer Rudi), I look at (almost) every single detail (as well) - well… We have to or should note/remind: The Great American REVOLUTION from Sixs Flags Magic Mountain/SFMM, has the first generation “nose” (with the “more straight-line nose”) as we all now… And so: It COULD be (but I am not sure!), that the new SooperDooperLooper-Trains from company Gerstlauer are a retained style of the “Anton Schwarzkopf-FIRST Generation-Seventies-Nose” and NOT of the SECOND generation “nose” (from the end of the seventies/beginning eighties til end of the eighties…) as for example by the (former) “Doppel Looping”, “Himalaya Bahn”, “Dreier Looping”, Triple-Loop “Mindbender”, “Thriller” or “Olympia Looping”…or the “Silberpfeil”/”Silverarrow”) is… or even the the trains from Double-Loop “Shock Wave” @ SFoT, Double-Loop “M?ndb?nd?r @ SFoG” and so on, and so on... But as I said: It’s only a speculation by my side, and not a fact! It could be also, that this new Gerstlauer train style will be the only one prototype. But to me, I can’t really imagine, because "the custom are king", as we in Germany are using to say (“Der Kunde ist König”)… But I want to be honest: I guess, a possibly "second generation (roundy) nose (with its two eyes)" from company Gerstlauer could also have a little modification as the original from the former company Anton Schwarzkopf…but as I said: “Keyword” custom wish… But if my words/presumption WOULD be true (in the near future)…so yeah…I am more then curious about the new trains for a retained style of the “Anton Schwarzkopf-Second Generation- (with the more bended or roundy) Nose” with its typically two “eyes”. And of course about the wheel essembly in style of the mid eighties (like for example from 1986, which I like/“love” so much) ! Here is some usefull link from the SCN for the ^fetishists^… No, really…not bad work, company Gerstlauer!…This makes really hope for further trains [and (inversion) rollercoasters] in style of Anton Schwarzkopf… I almost said: Off-Topic Regards, SW7 @ Alton Towers for 2013… Best regards Thri!!er P.S: The new magnetic brakes for SooperDooperLooper @ Hersheypark (like by the Triple-Loop "Mindbender" @ WEM, Edmonton/Canada) are not a bad invention...THIS - I am sure - would love Mr. Roller Coaster, A. Schwarzkopf I do like the face style you are describing and didn't a new train not too long ago feature that style? Like this..made by Anton's son....This style is classic and timeless... And the newer First generation Revolution type trains...
  2. Is the brake run also too high? Those straps are just for the test dummies.
  3. Yes they are. And if I remember correctly that is the area where the double helix was at the end of the ride.
  4. The new GCI coaster will hide the IMAX theater behind it. I hope that one day they will re-open it. At this point just tear the damn thing down and open up space for a nice ride.
  5. Wow that went up the lift fast! AWESOME!
  6. Praise be to Anton, Amen. They could- but it would be weight issues as well as complexity issues; the Mk2c trains weigh a LOT more than what would be a 'traditional' OTSR system- due to the locking mechanisms. I love the Jack-in-the-box OTSRs on the Mk2c trains- they fit right, and are not earboxers, as well as being 'right sized' for my body. My thought is this: they talk about how 'forceful' the loop on Revolution is... and here is where I point out two others: Mindbender, SFoG and ShockWave SFoT, both of whom are more forceful, have similar approaches to the loop, and yet don't have OTSRs.... Agree and good point. If they must have OTSRs then if they are comfortable and FIT PROPERLY then all would be good.. the current restraints are a complete and total joke.
  7. "Oh my god, you are still here." That video so so funny!
  8. Fine, but why couldn't they just agree to do that YEARS ago? Frikin ridiculous! I hope the side of the wall facing Poodential is butt ugly too. See now everyone is happy. Sounds like they are going to build it then test for 'noise' and add dampening measures if needed. Well, so far this seems good.
  9. I am fascinated by these trains. Every Intamin coaster I have seen only had the standard two across seating, this is really unique and I like the looks of it.
  10. Yes~ VERY well said and the G's in the loop thing I don't buy, if the OSTRs are supposed to 'protect' you I don't see how as they are too high and pin you in the middle of the chest still leaving your neck and head free to whiplash as they claim so they really seem useless....utterly and completely useless! If they had the correct restraints I could understand it more but with these....no. That just sounds like their standard answer without a real explanation- it's almost as if when they were put on years ago the actual reason why was forgotten and over the years successors were never told or completely understood so they don't really know and to cover they just say it's because of the G's in the loop. And if that really was the problem and the reason why they were added then why was it run for at least 20 YEARS before something was done about it? (And many years with no trims). See it just doesn't add up. New trains with at least the CORRECT type of restraints, maybe a little track work and if possible remove the trims (and please paint THE WHOLE THING this time), and with some good marketing this could become popular once again. This is really the coaster that put them on the map back in the day, a historical masterpiece and a modern marvel, featured in more than one motion picture and on countless TV shows, beautifully integrated into the mountain side and over the falls and your first view of it as you enter the park is the crown jewel of it- the loop. Why not bring this back to its former glory? Play up on these things and market it well? It CAN be done, it happens all the time with old rides being reborn. So it's not like they can't, it is totally do-able, they just need to DO IT!
  11. As exciting and awesome as this is as it seems FINALLY they are putting in a new coaster, until there is confirmation otherwise I think its best if everyone assumes it will open for 2013, really don't see this opening (if its even built yet) by haunt.
  12. Awesome and isn't this one of the weight drop versions?
  13. Please post a link to this page where these are, man that person is a moron! Nevermind I found this nonsense. Read a few and found this... ...what? My favorite comment so far is from someone who simply said.. Best comment ever!
  14. No you are both wrong....its Vekoma that is the best...everyone knows that!
  15. So now we need a thread titled "Brake runs that are too high, list rides you think have brake runs that should be lower and why." Yeah.....no!
  16. Not a coincidence, it's a Six Flags thing. They pride themselves on it, apparently. That smell seems to be a normal thing there. MM needs these really bad for Revolution....
  17. What?.... Seriously the brake run is too high? And how high should it be? In the test video the peeps commented on "screws flying off the train"- LOL
