  1. That's good, sounds like they have a good feel for keeping dispatches moving along.
  2. I don't mind the assigned seating as to me it didn't really matter where I sat, it was all awesome. The park isn't making any money on these events but it occurs to me that they are using this time as valuable real experience with the public training for the ride ops and staff for this ride, so that's smart.
  3. Yeah well...... It was either this wall or no Gold Striker..... which would you rather have and be happy about it? I don't mind the wall, I don't even care about it because I'm too busy enjoying a kick ass ride!
  4. Well here it was just like a normal day at the park but depending on how they want to do this it might be different. But you should be able to get a few rides in at least I would think. Even if you only got to ride it once I think that would be awesome, this ride looks pretty amazing and I wish I lived closer so I could try it.
  5. I only went one day but I got in 8 rides in about 2-1/2 hours, that is riding it, getting back in line, getting back on, etc., and taking a few breaks. Of course it may be different for this ride but if you read the comments in the CGA thread that might give you an idea. And this all depends on how many people are there, how often they cycle the trains, etc., but I would expect you should get several rides on it.
  6. You guys are gonna love this. I did the Gold Striker promo and it was awesome being able to ride it several times. With the coaster you have now, it should be amazing. I'm very interesting in seeing what you think of it.
  7. I think in the GCI POV the camera may be mounted lower on the train- closer to the track giving the illusion that it's faster than the CGA POV, but even still, you gotta figure with all this running and the heat that it has loosened up some and gotten a little faster. But I agree, it is a more accurate representation of what it is actually like. So here now we have a park that has the worst wood coaster in America, and possibly one of the best or at the very least very highly ranked. I Hadn't been to the park in a few years so when I went the other day I was amazed at how different that area looks now, instead of the ugly Pictorium building and Star Tower (not that the tower is ugly) you now have this huge wood structure with roaring trains, what a difference! I am so pleased that not only I get to experience this awesome ride but that the park put this in, hopefully as a sign of greater things to come. Here is the chassis POV that was mentioned, really a unique perspective. Embedding is not working so here is the yt link...
  8. Am I the only one that thanked the park management and staff? They could have charged everybody admission or parking or for the drinks.... or decided not to do this at all. They have 'given' us a great ride.... and allowed us a chance to ride it before the public even before the auction winners....and now they have extended this FREE event another day??? INSANE! Come on people show these guys some love!
  9. Gotta thank GCI too for designing such a wonderful ride. And most importantly, A GIANT THANK YOU to park management and staff for allowing us to ride this.... free and for hosting such an event. You have to realize this did cost the park money, paying employees to run the ride, food, etc, and the fact they said bring as many people as you like.... admission free.... I think shows how much faith they have in this ride bringing in the public, the future of the park, and shows that they really care. Roger is a really nice guy too and it was great how he was talking with guests and asking questions. Once again thank you CGA management and staff for a 'GREAT' time!
  10. So then a crappy illegal POV. Its a private event, not even that many people there and they still have to line jump and shoot illegal POV vids...... ridiculous. I witnessed a couple of line jumpers yesterday and just figured whatever, line ain't that long, it was still irritating though. These people have no respect. Speaking of typical GP, while in line yesterday some random lady was talking to her friend about the speeds of GS and Fizzly and she's said, I'm not making this up, she said she read the top speed of Fizzly was 94mph! I just had to laugh to myself as I'm pretty sure that is the height of the lift but even still, if you think THAT goes 94mph then you are seriously high! I heard other random things about coasters and it was just funny. One cool thing I did hear from the GP was during testing at the part of the line past the tunnel where you are next to the track and the train screams by, more than once I heard "damn that's fast" .... yup it is!
  11. I want to hear Robb go "weeee" and "whoa" on the POV.
  12. It's compact, fast, and just butt liftingly fun! The double up will get ya! I'm interested to see what everyone else says about it.
  13. Hey I'm on that train! (The bald guy in row 3 with a blue shirt) So Gumball, do you think this was worth the wait? I thought it was fantastic.
  14. I liked it loud.... and the roar as it is coming out of the tunnel is sweet! Its a wood coaster, its gonna be loud, as it should be, nothing wrong with that. If the noise bothers you then bring hearing protection. I still can't get over the speed it has and how it keeps up this speed until the end. Amazing! I got 8 rides in, once in the back (insane air on the drop) and the rest in the middle and closer to the front... still I was out of my seat many times..... didn't matter where I sat. Thank you GCI and CGA..... this coaster rocks! I like how the line goes under a part of the track after it comes out of the tunnel so the train roars by over your head and the line and station flyby is really cool. Easily the best ride there now and its so strange its like it does not belong here.... but there it is! I kept saying this was hard to believe it was real and now that I have ridden it I can believe its real and a great ride too. That area of the park now has a nice roar to it that was much needed.
  15. I would have to completely agree.... it was balls out insane! I loved it! This ride should have happened a long time ago.
  16. It looks fast and feels faster than that, I was out of my seat many many times..... awesome!
  17. I LOVED IT! Speed, good pops of air, so much fun! This park needed this so bad and its a winner!
  18. Is that actual Speed Rail brand railing?
  19. I was thinking a whole bunch of this....
  20. I'm just going to print the whole thing to be sure.
  21. I think the question here is, if you are the driver, how the hell did you not see this HUGE structure there? -driver FAIL
  22. Confirmed for tuesday! This will be my first commcercial shoot ever!
