  1. As mentioned before the theme is gold mining and the tunnel is to simulate a mine shaft. ...Which is just the PR excuse for noise abatement. It was also already explained the tunnel has nothing to do with noise abatement and was added as an after thought for themeing.... still having nothing to do with suppressing noise. Claiming it's purely themeing and not noise-related is PR 101 to my eyes. Totally agree. Also, the tunnel isn't some cheap thing to add as an afterthought. If it were purely for theme, there are SEVERAL other points on the ride that a tunnel would have made more sense. Adding to that, the park has always fought the noise issues with the neighbors, so this makes sense for noise. And finally, there are several other roller coasters with noise barriers on their drops, so maybe they decided to enclose it fully as a theme decision since they were going to have to put a wall in anyways to block noise. But in no way was this put in because they wanted a mine theme on the tallest part of the ride and is not noise related... If the tunnel was purely for noise then why on the drop only which turns away from the neighbors? There are a few other places that seem to come closer where a tunnel makes more sense.

  4. Nice for a first run and I suspect as things loosen a bit it may go faster..... oh boy this looks like great fun.... I can't wait! Yeah this is definitely going to be a very good thing for the park.. just awesome.
  5. It's coming.... it's coming.... That drop into the tunnel is going to be sweet!
  6. Wow if that's true it sounds like it could be amazing.
  7. Thank you for doing a a great TR on an industry I've been working in for a long time. This seems to be the trend in new bowling centers, more upscale, restaurant like, with a nightclub feel with good food and awesome drinks. It's more expensive than a typical bowling alley but you are paying more for the service and experience. Plus the private areas are great for company events or private parties. This place looks really cool, I love the retro feel it has to it and beer taps on the tables? No way.... awesome!
  8. Not unless they don't need this.... This coaster cannot operate unless that drill is properly installed....
  9. How long did Batman and Riddler's have lights not working? Once the newness wears off these items will fail and start being neglected... which is sad really but this seems to be something that goes on at this park with things.
  10. Ok the chain is in. Get those trains on the track and let's go!
  11. Or even a "brake run." For me, this goof is right up there with confusing "loose" and "lose." We now return you to the SFMM Discussion Thread, which is already in progress. Hey, how about that YOLO Coaster?
  12. I WANT TESTING VIDEO!!! It's not officially true until the train starts running the course.
  13. Oh brother... Oh no, the gap has totally ruined the ride, tear it down it's no good now!
  14. In case anybody forgot, this is the YOLOcoaster layout sequence... -launch -loop -turn -turn -dive inversion into tunnel -stop -back launch -forward launch -tophat -brake run -it is now time to exit the train
  15. That and Colossus does it too. And Revolution and X2. Does Viper? I can't remember but I think it does as well.
  16. Or it has nothing to do with that and the intention is to increase the anticipation of the first drop.
  17. Hell yeah!! YOLO!!! I personally think all the YOLO stuff is hilarious and I even have my family calling it Yolocoaster. If SFMM learned anything, the next half-coaster they build will have advertisements with less swag. I'm still very excited to ride though, it looks like a blast. Especially since they never showed the second half of the ride. That's because its in another park.
