Club TPR Membership Card - VOTING!!!
gisco replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lots of good ideas in these cards. n7's is good but I don't like the current logo he has on the card. The older one is better. rcrider's card makes the logo really stand out. Nice. Wish it had a little more color to it like n7's Liked Calaway Parks too but not of the logo. Replace it with rcrider's. -
TPR's Ever Evolving Park Index

I have some of the China and Japan ones. I'll try and get them sometime this week. -
I have a Disney Rewards card from Chase. Earns 1% with no annual fee. I'm putting about $3k a month on it. I charge everything I can then pay it off every month. Paying interest would kill any benefit the rewards give you. I used some of the points last weekend for my Park Hopper ticket and a bunch last June when I was in Disney World to help pay for the hotel.

Help Design Club TPR's Logo & Membership Card!

I like the card n7 did just not as much as I used to. Not sure if those colors will look as good on a card. I like the logo that rcrider did. Really stands out on the card. I like the card that jcrouse did in black but not my favorite logo. Looks like" CLUB TPR" to me. I like how he did the letters for club though. Just needs to be smaller in my opinion. -
Maybe they should let people who have just ridden skip the preshow. Make it like a single rider queue. They can fill the empty seats. You would have to go through the preshow at least once. The length of the secondary line would regulate itself. If the line grew to long people would either skip another ride or wait through the preshow. No worse off then what is happening now.

It is funny after all these years that you finally got to ride it. I actually liked Steel Dragon. Not a great ride by any means but still fun. Maybe it was fun because Robb got us a couple of rides before it opened to everyone else so there was no wait! One of the many great perks R & E provide on TPR trips! I liked the rest of the park too. I think the next time I visit I would like to check out the water park. Never had a chance on the two previous trips.

Help Design Club TPR's Logo & Membership Card!

On n7's entry, instead of putting "Theme Park Review Alias" under the member name put "www.themeparkreview.com" I think everyone knows that the name in quotes above a url is a screen name. Kind of makes the connection between the two and solves the problem of making the url more visible. -

I signed up for both days as a Six Flags Season Pass holder. I just went to renew my pass because I always wait until the last minute. I have a voucher because my picture is to old. YIKES! Looks like a trip South will be in order before March 20th to get it processed. -
In general I'm Ok with the premium membership. I have a few thoughts but I would become a premium member no matter what changes if any were made. A family membership. Maybe $40 individual, $50 for a spouse, $60 for a family. No matter what level you still only get $15 credit for store/trips. Make all memberships the same price. $40 for everyone, even if outside the US/Canada. Yes the postage is more but I would think that having a strong base outside the US would be desirable. Lower the membership to $25 with no store/trip credit. Your selling the stuff at pretty much cost anyway. Might appeal to the people who don't collect the videos, want the t-shirts or use any of the perks but want to keep the sight ad free. Make renewal a little cheaper. Maybe $30 instead of $40 Not wild about the private forum. I know it will be to discuss trips and such but I think it would just add to the perception of a clique. I think keeping the trips as invite only and a special forum like we have for trips now is a better way. I don't like the idea of buying your way into a trip. On a TPR trip or event, I don't think PMs should have special perks. You really haven't said what those perks will be yet. If it is priority on a seating for lunch or a time for a tour then I'm ok with that. If it is extra ERT or a special tour then I'm against that and I would not participate. People should be able to have the same experience at a TPR event or trip whether they are a PM or not. I'm not for a monthly or quarterly publication. Unless someone can come up with an idea that would make it unique and not dated, don't waste the time and money. If you want a publication, join the ECC or ACE. They both have fine publications, they have to because they don't have a web site that comes close to what TPR has. Maybe the weekly Friday update that is e-mailed can be enhanced a little. Add a few pictures with the links. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
gisco replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why would a company want that particular piece of property when they are not going to open an amusement park? Why spend the money to clear the land when there is probably open land available in other areas of the city? First clue that this will never be built: They want the city to put up all the money to build it. If this was such a great idea the developer would pay for it. -

How did you end up here???
gisco replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Time to hear some of the new peoples stories. I know I posted here about 4 years ago but here is my story. Back around 2003/2004 I was looking for coaster videos. I had some DVDs from a company I think was called Horse Creek Productions. The POVs were awful. The shaking was so bad they are pretty much unwatchable. Searching I found R&E's Japan report. Ordered a few DVDs and found they were far superior to the others I had. Joined them on the first UK in 2006 trip and have taken a TPR trip every year since. -

You need to go on a lot more TPR trips so we can have these awesome trip reports. I'm a little disappointed in Robby not getting a picture of the "girls" -
24 Days of Theme Park Review Videos!

I think some Japanese guy came to California, took a bunch of pictures of Disneyland. Went home and tried to recreate it on a budget. It was pretty creepy how many things were taken from Disney. The monorail, autopia, jungle cruise, main street, castle etc. Then with all that rubbish they had Aska, a kick-ass wooden coaster. The best woodie in Asia at that time. -

gisco replied to miniviews's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
NO, I WOULD NOT!!! JJ Yeah, Jeff wouldn't count it as one credit, there are two seats so it would be TWO credits! Nice pics Mike. I could do the "coaster" but not the walk. -
Glad to see this thread again! One of the best things about traveling is trying out the local food.

This addition to HLDL and the additions being made to Ocean Park will make a return visit to Hong Kong a must.
