  1. Knoebels was a blast, especially if you like throwback parks. But if they want more modern things to do, go to Dorney. Waldameer is a nice park, too, and it has Ravine Flyer II, but it's not really an "all day" park.
  2. ^^Is the ride cycle 5 minutes? Forgive my ignorance on Star Flyers, I don't really know much about them other than they're Wave Swingers on steroids. I gotta think that MaXair (especially with loading time taken into consideration) has similar capacity to what this ride would have.
  3. I'm being told it will hold 64 people. Depending on how long the ride cycle is, it might not be that bad for capacity.
  4. Just found out (you know I'm not going to tell you how, so please don't ask), that it's going to be a Star Flyer for sure, and it's going to be 300 feet tall. Kudos to whoever called that one first.
  5. There are very few parks that have been able to keep their old "charm" and remain popular. Hell, even Kennywood has season passes and a launched coaster now. It's just the changing of the times. Not everything can be like it was in the "good old days," and that doesn't just apply to theme parks.
  6. ^Yeah, the only serious accident in Skycoaster history involved drunk employees being jackasses after hours and not following safety procedures. I've done over 250 flights in my life and I'm still here!
  7. While it may be true for some, Skycoasters are as absolutely failsafe as they come. They are, unequivocally, the safest rides in the entire industry. The set of circumstances that would have to happen for a serious injury and/or fatality would have to be so ludicrously absurdly off the wall. You have a better chance of being struck by lightning while simultaneously being attacked by a shark and being sat on by a whale with legs. I could list the reasons why it's so safe, but that would take too long, and you should just take my word for it. Now back on topic, I hope the girl makes a speedy recovery.
  8. ^Cedar Point is the New York Yankees of the industry. People are going to hate just because it's Cedar Point. Plain and simple.
  9. ^The rides are rated 1-5. They aren't rated based on comparison to one another, but probably by criteria set forth by the park itself. If it's a high speed ride, goes upside down, is rough, etc., it will probably be a 5.
  10. ^But, but, but, all I had to do to put a building down in RCT3 was press a button and PRESTO! Isn't it that easy in real life????
  11. ^Let me guess. For Haunt, they should build a building around FoF? That way it would be the world's first double enclosed coaster!
  12. Double-up. So where is the 2nd up? It just looks like a REALLY low pull up out of a HUGE drop that goes flat and then immediately into a turn. I gotta say, that's going to hurt like a mofo.
  13. ^Imagine how ghetto it would be if Callahan Auto went under!
  14. ^Every time I've gone since opening weekend they've only had one train running, but people who go more regularly might be able to shed more light on that.
  15. Same here. I was just like "oh that would have been a fun trip" for most of the updates, and then the German fair update came in and I was like "DAMMIT!!!! I WANT TO BE THERE!!!!"
  16. ^Change the batteries on your sarcasm detector.
  17. ^I would NEVER guess for you to say FoF is the best ride there.
  18. ^The photo eye that I was referring to earlier in the thread is the fail safe. There's a photo eye that detects all seven pedals (which have reflectors on them) leaving the station as the train is pulled up the first hill. If the photo eye doesn't detect seven pedals, the ride e-stops itself.
  19. Evel Knievel beats out Prowler by a whisker and Thunderhead by a lightning bolt.
  20. ^Well, there ARE cables on Boomerangs! :cuedramaticsquirrelmusic:
  21. I'm really not playing the "I know something you don't know" game, I'm just making a point that regardless of what I know, I have a contractual obligation to not share that information. I can tell everyone it's going to be a while, but that's about it. Patience will be key on this one. It's nothing horribly wrong with the ride, it's just going to take some time. In the mean time, enjoy all of our other coasters that don't make you feel like you're having an aneurysm .
  22. ^If it's anything like Zoomerang, it has a photo eye detection system at the exit of the station to make sure all foot pedals are in the upright and locked position. If any of the foot pedals is down, the ride will e-stop itself. In fact, Robb experienced this first hand last year when TPR was at AA (one of our operators wasn't too bright).
  23. As do I, but I wouldn't exactly be a model employee if I shared confidential company information with the world.
