  1. Hmm.. thats what most people want im sure but they have been known to make some dumb decisions, like building a go-kart ride infront of a spot they could expand into and build a entirely new area. with the bad part being they charge 20 dollars for a ride on it. Well heres my dream plan for the northwest section. I took Cody's basic plan and just expanded it. Most of this will never be done I realize that but you can hope. Lime Green - Gravity Group/GCI Aqua - Underground pathway under Thunder Run Gold - Re-landscaping. (It looks like a overgrown mess at times, and the others are sometime bare) Navy Blue - Thrill ride section(featuring maybe a Drop zone style ride or something like what SF new orleans had(one side launched, one dropped.), And a frisbee ride. Purple - Premier Rides Water Coaster(keeps a water ride there and adds a coaster, to my knowledge these dont exist in the US yet) Pink - Impulse Coaster (like wicked twister, but themed to dragsters) Dark Green - Not really sure at the moment, but maybe a kind of entertainment area and some other rides. I wouldnt mind if it took years to make, to me thats the best plan for that section. Ill describe the colors above
  2. So They built the ride then the building around Disaster Transport?
  3. Thank you George. I dont care how long it takes, ill wait if it means we will eventually get a full makeover of the ride. Well its cheaper then retrofitting the entire system for 3-D and it would make the ride better if we have to stick to having to use the old film for a few more years. Sort of like the rehab they did to Spaceship Earth. add these in, then next year or later, add in more during another rehab, then add in the final touches in a later rehab
  4. From what I've been hearing the DHS version is not getting the updates, only the Anaheim and TDL versions. Something about the WDW heads being too cheap. Then again, if Anaheim and OLC are footing most of the bill for the production of it, then it may be going in there as well. If this is true then you have got to be kidding me -.- Im tired of having to ride the watered down versions of rides. half that stuff wouldnt even cost much like the screen and projector. First we get a planned SM refurb, 3 months later - Gets turned into a watered down version(no new cars, no support strengthing for onride audio, just new track.) Another point, DHS, and AK half built, So they better be bringing all those improvements to DHS.
  5. From a few reliable sources, at the DHS version, there is supposed to be adding HD screens/projectors, 3-D, updated ride vehicle. The part about all the different scenes seems pretty cool though, It would be alot better.
  6. Both have been removed to the "shop" which im presuming, in a few days they will be lifted off the track. unless they were removed off the entire track. Which if they havent, they will soon, since they are the only pieces of evidence, and the shop has to be used by other monorails.
  7. ^ yea they were from TT. They more then likely will be scrapped, they were in very good condition but i imagine 2 years of no care can take a toll on them.
  8. ^ sounds great. but id do a few changes, but i like the GCI, but maybe a gravity group coaster but if we manage to get anything, ill take a GCI. I thyink they need to remove the go karts and use that as a pathway into a new section which they own all the land behind Chang which is huge. Adding with my idea on expanding and improving a few posts above where they connect the back end of the northwest section to the path to the batman arena, i say they finish that out with expanind that into a section goes all the way behind Chang and put a path to connect it at the go-karts location. That section is very promising.
  9. Good lord. This reminds me of a crappy state fair. Nice TR though
  10. That would be a problem. For KK i wouldnt mind a giant frisbee ride though
  11. Alot of those were replaced by bigger and better rides im assuming though
  12. First of all, the kiddie rides in the Northwest Territory section of the park have been gone for at least 5 years now. The only things that remain in that area are Mile High Falls (not a log ride), the Twins, Zeppelin (flat), and a small stage. Back when the Northwest Territory was first closed off, the park said that they were going to rehab MHF...and I believe that. When I was last at the park, there were workers walking up and down the lift, the boats were still in the station, and the splash pool had been drained and cleaned out. Robb, the park has been steadily improving since 2005. I'm glad you all enjoyed your visit, and if EVERYONE went to the park with an open mind, I'm sure they would have a good time there, as well. My only beef with Six Flags is that they seem to remove a major ride (or two) EVERY YEAR, yet never seem to replace it. In a little more than a decade, the following rides have been removed from the park: -HUSS Ranger -Schwarzkopf Indoor Jetstar -Vekoma Boomerang (Vampire) -Wet/Dry slides -Kids indoor play area -HUSS Swing Around -Numerous childrens' rides -Chance Chaos -Vekoma Wakiki Wave -Intamin 2nd Gen Freefall -HUSS Rainbow I would be completely SHOCKED if someone could inform me of another park that has removed that many rides in such a short period of time (without closing). Now, I'm all for replacing old rides with new ones...but the problem is, nothing's getting replaced! It was the same thing. And really, its kinda hard to tell if something had been removed behind their great barrier wall as the only tall rides are TT, and Mile High Falls. and theres a few issues with your list of rides that have been removed, You say they was removed but you didnt say what replaced them. So heres a updated list -HUSS Ranger -Schwarzkopf Indoor Jetstar - Replaced by the Thrill Theater -Vekoma Boomerang (Vampire) - Replaced by Roadrunner, and Sky coaster -Wet/Dry slides - Replaced by vampire - which was replaced by the rides that replaced it -Kids indoor play area - never remembered this (guessing this was the first play area where the ball factory is) -HUSS Swing Around - Replaced by a show -Numerous childrens' rides -Chance Chaos - Replaced by deluge -Vekoma Wakiki Wave - Replaced by Tornado -Intamin 2nd Gen Freefall -HUSS Rainbow As you can see they have replaced more then half of the rides they have removed . In fact they have added more rides. And the kiddie rides they did remove was because 1. they was in the way of a bigger new ride, and 2. they already had a pretty big kids section. 1997 - Ball Factory 1998 - Medium size lazy river 2003 - Greezed Lighting 2005 - Tornado 2007- Deluge - Buccaneer Beach Remodeled 2008 - Mega Wedgie Yes thats mostly the waterpark but thats really the thing that brings alot of people to the park that live here. Alot of other improvements have been made to the park itself such as repainting a majority of the park, and other changes. What i would like to see happen, is a expansion of the park by removing or doing something to T2 to make it less painful, removing all of the northwest territory, if possible expand around the back of blizzard river to the path that leads up to the batman arena area(behind T2) and add 1 Major roller coaster, 2 medium scale rides and other small rides and activities. They could remove the batman arena also. Its in the way if you ask me. Theres always the amphitheater on the other side also. I also wouldnt mind if they repainted the Wheel either Another Improvement they need to do, is finish retracking thunder run, and get the train refurbished, or buy a new one altogether. Too bad Six flags doesnt got the money to do it but all that work alone would increase profits from the park on huge scale. Maybe the City could help . I mean they are willing to throw money at a 400 million dollar bridge that we dont need just to make people in the east end shut up so i dont see a problem helping to pay for some work at the park
  13. Sadly, They just shipped all the twisted twins trains to SFSL to be scrapped more then likely. I suspect the log ride, the kid rides, and TT will be demolished this offseason.
  14. No, I would not say it is worth the visit. The only way I would rocommend this park is if you really want 6 more credits. I think Six Flags would be better off selling SFKK (and SFA), and giving some of their rides to other Six Flags parks. When I visited SFKK for the first time a couple weeks ago, it was horrible. Every coaster except Roadrunner ran one train, and when the trains on the coasters finally would come in the station, the ride operators would just be talking to each other and were in no hurry to open gates/check restraints/send the trains out. IMO, it's just a bad park that is ruining Six Flags' reputation. Its not a bad park. Its very popular. And like i said If this park closes, down goes Louisville's revenue. And we need it especially if they are gonna try to build a new Arena for UL basketball, 2 new bridges for those stuck up east enders -.- and all this other crap, KY and the city are throwing their money at. The only thing qrong with KK is that they got a bad rep because of 1 accident that wasnt even six flags fault.
  15. I dont think you can. But yo get to it now, you have to enter the waterpark. But you should be able to get on it in your street clothes, I believe. I've never ridden it so i wouldnt really know.
  16. Yes i know, but the current design is a bit dated and sometimes it gets really stinky inside the cabins. They can redesign the Mark 7's at DLR to be longer, wider and have AC so they can operate all the time. Just seems logical to start working on a replacement since they now have to fix or replace 2 monorails.
  17. It is worth it. The free waterpark is the seller. And take your own risk on T2. How T2 hasnt had a accident/injury yet is beyond me. Thunder Run is ok. It used to be better but they cut their budget for replacing the track and just did the drop, and about 3-5 other sections, which was all about 10-15 ft long each section so it barely changes anything.
  18. I wonder if WDW will go ahead and just start replacing their entire fleet for newer models and ones that have greater capacity, maybe like the ones at DLR(the mark 7) but longer, wider and with AC. I do like the current WDW monorail design but it needs to be fixed up a bit more. Makes sense to go ahead and do that now since they are already aging, and showing signs of it already
  19. How is SFKK horrible? it turns profit, aside from T2 the park is great, and the replacement ride back in the back section will make the park even better
  20. My god -.- The ride is going to be demoed this off-season i can tell you that. This irratates me so much. Why i cant have one ride that doesnt kill me(thunder run, T2) i dont know. They better be replacing the whole back section with something new, and really good. This park really generates a lot of revenue for the city of louisville and if this goes, Louisville will be hurting.
  21. intresting. I wonder if that does mean the ride will be taken down
  22. Holiday World on the 11th of July and then in 2 weeks after that, Kings island for a day or two.
  23. This was posted to screamscape.com http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20090702/NEWS01/307020028/17+days+later++Son+of+Beast+still+closed The article says: At least there is some update. And again sorry for the double post
  24. maybe. They are doing alot of changes in the back of the coney mall section, Maybe remove SOB and put in a re-designed SOB? Oh on those changes in coney mall, they tore down the laser tag building, and removed the poles in the old flight commander queue, and theres now a trash can in there with a new Cedar fair sticker on it, and then separating it and another patch of land, is the turbo bungy, so they could remove it and put something in back there, or maybe a coaster that goes all around that side of the park and back into the section where SOB took up, just a thought. But most peoples speculation is a path to X-base for a future expansion, still id like the thought of the expansion, but the problem, is racer is int he way.
  25. ^ Those were just suggestions of rides that would be great with a launched system due to their layout since its mostly in the forest. The new gravity group train works with traditional lift hill mechanisms though.
