  1. Hmm, looks like I have an excuse to get away from the bible-thon crowd. Anyone wanna grab a brewskie to get out of the midday sun?
  2. Seriously, one of the most painful experiences of my life.
  3. A tad more refined, but close!
  4. Which obviously makes you an engineer.
  5. ^ Well damn, that got real dark real fast. I was simply basing my opinion off of what I saw when I visited New Orleans in 2012. I was a production manager for a theatrical tour based out of Metaire and we were in NOLA for at least 5 days a month. I wasn't a fan of the town at all and I only visited the French Quarter once. I've been all over that city and never felt like it was a place I'd want to return to. Different strokes for different folks.
  6. It's OK, guys. He's from Missouri. There's no hope for him, anyway.
  7. I think they learned their lesson after the countless problems they've had with Mondial while watching Six Flags blow them out of the water with a similar ride. Not saying they're gonna buy a Starflyer, just saying that, if they're smart, they won't throw more money into the Mondial toilet.
  8. Think about the company you're talking about. Just really think about it for 10 seconds. These are the geniuses that put a Batman clone 10 miles away from a Batman clone, which happened to be a few hours drive from a Batman clone. Not to mention the couple dozen other Batman clones.
  9. ^ Well, you know, New Orleans. Pretty much the poster child of horrible people and bad decisions.
  10. I'm sure Magic Mountain would. They managed to screw up Deja Vu enough.
  11. New waterpark additions and a skycoaster results in stagnation? I think you're very confused on the subject. I'm no expert on Magic Springs because I've never been but it seems like it's the kind of park that doesn't really pull in a whole lot of excess money. Call me crazy. They're doing the best they can with the money they've got. Small regional parks don't have nearly the bankroll that large chains have.
  12. Since it's conception? What, were you part of the RMC design team?
  13. I just came across this on Nerdist. Apparently a group of MIT students built a rollercoaster for fun! http://nerdist.com/these-college-kids-built-a-roller-coaster/ Here's a timelapse of construction - [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] And here's a short video of a human riding it. Looks awesome!!! [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/Ct8UtpLvEes[/youtu_be]
  14. Six Flags had a stranglehold on RMC for the past few years. Cedar Fair was probably just late to the game and RMC is all booked up.
  15. NTAG cost $10 million, according to Wikipedia (yeah, I know, credibility and all that). If NTAG was $10 million, TC couldn't have been much different considering length and size.
  16. ^ Stay there every time I'm doing a Knott's trip. Never had a problem. It's not nice but it's not a toilet, either.
  17. Scratch Azul, there's a place just south called Big Wangs. That's awesome. I'm going there. Happy hour starts at 10pm Friday night.
  18. Open invitation to anyone 21+ to join me at Cups Bar & Grill on Saturday night. I've never been but it's right next to my hotel (Rodeway Inn across the street from Knott's). Anyone up for a beer or cocktail after Magic Mountain, come on down! Same goes for Friday night at Azul across from Magic Mountain, probably. I'm not sure if it's a restaurant or a bar, haha. Edit - Big Wangs is way more hilarious than Azul, they also have happy hour. I'm going there instead.
  19. Make sure you go REALLY early! I like where this is headed...
  20. Depends on what is causing the rattle. General material fatigue almost certainly plays a factor and there are parks willing to replace parts to remove a rattle (Disney) and parks that aren't willing to replace parts until they're no longer safe to use (Six Flags). Edit - To add, just replacing one part won't help. It'll be nice for a short time but since the rest of the materials in use are of varying degrees of use they won't work perfectly soundly together, hence why you see rattles return faster than you'd like.
  21. From what I can gather from the details already available, it seem Knott's will not be providing breakfast, only lunch. Anyone want to invade the IHOP across the street Sunday morning?
