  1. I've been on 4. This is also the order of best to worst: Deja Vu: SFMM (Amazing) Invertigo: CGA (Awesome) Boomerang: SFDK (Good) Boomerang: KBF (Horrible)
  2. For anyone that cares, Whitewater Falls finally opened for the season today after a lengthy downtime. FireFall, on the other hand, is still being worked on, at least that's what I'm assuming since the gondola is still not in place.
  3. Did anyone happen to go to the park yesterday? The park was really busy. The line for Flight Deck, Psycho Mouse and Grizzly were out the entrance all day. Demon had its overflow open and the line was still out the entrance. And Vortex had most of its overflow open. Pretty much every single ride in the park had a line. Although it prevented me from riding everything, it was nice to see the park busy.
  4. The only things different is that Vortex is no longer green, Woodstock Express (Runaway Reptar) is no longer orange, and the Top Spin belongs to Kings Dominion. Otherwise, the video is accurate in showcasing the parks rides.
  5. What is your deal?! You always post the most random and pointless posts here. You keep throwing out the same ideas all the time and we understand what you want and what you don't want. Oh, and it's called FireFall, not FireWall.
  6. Theoretically, a Trainer/Lead is supposed to focus on training and certifying new associates. They can also give out lunches and breaks if permitted by their supervisor. So yeah, essentially the Trainer and Supervisor positions are just separate instead of combined like a Team Lead, but a lot of times they do have similar job requirements, the only difference is the uniform color and pay rate.
  7. I have to ask, how is leadership set up at CGA and the former Paramount parks? For example, at both of the Cedar Fair parks I've worked at, it's primarily: -Crew (Ride Hosts, Sweeps, Admissions, etc) -Team Leads -Zone Supervisors -Department Manager From what I've heard about the former Paramount Parks, they're setup so each location has a "Supervisor" (what we call Team Leads), but other than that I'm completely unfamiliar with how the rest is setup. I'd really like to hear how other parks go about this. At CGA, and probably the former Paramount Parks as well, it goes: -Associate -Trainer/Lead (They are the same thing, just Rides is the only department to use the term Trainer) -Supervisor/Head Supervisor (In charge of a specific ride area, such as Demon/Whitewater Falls/Beserker, Grizzly/Tiki Twirl, etc. Usually no more than 8 positions) -Area Supervisor/Head Area Supervisor (I guess that would be a zone supervisor? They are in charge of all the rides in their zone, which the park is split up into 3 of them, plus the water park as the fourth) -Operation Supervisors (In charge of the entire ride operations of the park)
  8. The Demon orange train is also making its return with the yellow train in rehab now.
  9. I found these home movies from the park, one from 1988 and one from 1990. Thought they were really cool. The video from 1988 has a segment of the old sea lion show:
  10. Well, when it comes to the concrete at Triple Play, Whizzer, Greased Lightning, and Stealth, it's not out in the open like Invertigo was. Sure they're visible, but not quite like the Invertigo location. Just leaving a huge concrete slab from the queue line and station would look really awkward.
  11. Looks like FireFall and Thunder Raceway has their height requirements raised: www.cagreatamerica.com/images/attractions/11cga_ride_guidelines.pdf Not a big deal at all since most Top Spins and Go-Karts have those height requirements anyways.
  12. I believe it was re-painted somewhere between the 2002 and 2005 season. I remember because I thought it was strange that they were painting it while the park was open for the season instead of the off season.
  13. I see now there is a drop tower. My bad. My guess is either MIA or CP CP already has Power Tower. They even had 2 drop towers at one point (Demon Drop). Why would they want a second drop tower? As for all the rides that would go to other parks if CGA were to close; its just funny seeing what people think is going to happen. Theme Park Review should start a new fortune teller service.
  14. I've only been on Invertigo (CGA), and it was a lot smoother than the other types of boomerangs I've been on (Boomerangs at Knott's and SFDK) and Deja Vu (SFMM). It has more of a shuffling feeling, IMO, similar to a wooden coaster. Its not so much "rough."
  15. What I can honestly see happening, is either the 49'ers or the city buying CGA from Cedar Fair and hiring another company to manage it. Or, just pulling a Geauga Lake/Kentucky Kingdom, by removing/closing rides over the course of a couple seasons and moving them to other parks in the chain, then closing the park for good. I'm hoping the latter option doesn't happen, but it's just a wait-and-see scenario.
  16. California's Great America: $12 general, and $15 premium.
  17. ^I also really like the new style! Everything just looks and is more organized. Just a side note for the index, Survivor: The Ride is now named Tiki Twirl at CGA. www.cagreatamerica.com/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=2
  18. On a semi-related note regarding the park index, at CGA, Survivor has been renamed Tiki Twirl. www.cagreatamerica.com/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=2
  19. What?!?!?! I have never seen this. I would love it if someone could post a picture of it. Second to last picture: www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44454
  20. Three new shows for this season. www.cagreatamerica.com/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=4. Looks like no more All-Wheels Extreme. And the Charlie Brown show re-themed to pirates.
  21. Still want to go to a border town? news.yahoo.com/s/ap/lt_drug_war_mexico
  22. I don't know about any other coasters, but they had to modify one of Logger's Run supports at CGA when they built Stealth. They called it the "C" support, because, well, it looked like a "C."
  23. ^^Exactly. The lease is set to expire in the 2030's I believe. And no way in hell would ANY upper management at ANY park release ANY information, let alone to a new employee. There is no credibility to that information provided, and I don't believe it for a second.
  24. I don't know where that 11% came from, but according to http://cedarfair.com/ir/press_releases/index.cfm , the western region parks overall got a 9.7% increase in attendance. I'm assuming the only parks in the western region are CGA, KBF, and the Soak CIty water parks? I don't know if Gilroy Gardens is counted in the increase.
  25. Not only 2 shuttle coasters next to each other, but 2 YELLOW shuttle coasters next to each other. Cedar Fair loves yellow and red, so no way in hell is Invertigo getting painted a different color, except maybe with red instead of blue supports.
