  1. Unfortunately, like previously said, the country is essentially being run by drug lords, and the border towns are no place to be for a while.
  2. The border cities in Mexico with California have been very violent, so I would stay clear of it. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Um, do you not read what anyone else posts before you post the same type of statement again and again? No where has it been stated that the new addition is a coaster. I don't know why you keep bringing up a Wicked Twister clone. Never going to happen!! As for the wooden coaster, according to the LA TImes, officials said the proposed GCI will not go into the Invertigo spot.
  4. ^The park never said the new attraction was even going to be a coaster!! Of course we are all hoping for one, but don't get ahead of yourself.
  5. ^^That would be an extremely dumb move on CF's part if they were to only operate a coaster on weekends because of noise. Do you know how many questions and complaints the park would get?! Why build a $10 million coaster and only operate 2 days of the week?
  6. On the CGA facebook, someone asked what are other plans for the park's 35th anniversary, and the park responded by saying "details are coming soon!" Wonder what it could be.
  7. ^That Invertigo is from Kings Island. The date says 1999 which is the year the KI Invertigo opened, and the Invertigo at CGA opened in 1998.
  8. Wishful thinking, but if the park does get the GCI, maybe the general public will realize how bad Grizzly is, then it will get torn down, and a huge bonfire later, we have a new coaster.
  9. As much as the coaster enthusiast world hates Grizzly, it has the longest lines of the coasters behind Flight Deck an Psycho Mouse. I bet the maintenance costs to continue to make sure that the incident never happens again, mixed with the bad publicity the park got for the ride during and after the incident, was just an arrow pointing to the removal of it. As much as I liked the ride, and am upset that nothing is replacing it this season, I'm excited to hear about what is going to replace it. Let's be honest, there are SO MANY better options out there of coasters that can replace a boomerang, albeit an inverted one. GCI's are amazing coasters, and after experiencing Terminator at SFMM, I would love to see that project resurrected.
  10. I have a feeling that the GCI will be re-designed to fill the Invertigo spot for 2012. If that's the case, there will probably land clearing and preparation throughout the whole season. Greased Lightning gone with no coaster replacement. Stealth gone with no coaster replacement. Invertigo soon to be gone. The park has done some dumb things in the past, but there is no way they are going to let this season slide, by removing arguably the best coaster (with Flight Deck), and not put in a new ride this season to simmer down the soon to be very upset and angry guests. Looks like SFDK can now market their park with the most coasters in Northern California. On a side note, Two-Face (SFA) gone, and now Invertigo. Does this mean anything for the Invertigo at Kings Island?
  11. ^I actually feel the same way. The only two flyers I've been on was Stealth and Tatsu. Stealth felt a lot more "free" to me because there weren't any grab bars like there are on B&M flyers. It felt like I felt more of a "flying" sensation on Stealth then Tatsu.
  12. Yes. A lot of parks do this. If you buy a general admission at the main gate, it's the same price as a basic season pass.
  13. No, because the season pass processing center is outside the main gate.
  14. In 2009, Vortex ran with two trains during daily operation, then went back down to one train for weekend operation. Last year, it was running one train all season. What is it with stand-ups only running one train for extended periods of time lately?!
  15. I'm really glad to hear that the ops are only saying "enjoy your ride." If there's one thing of a Six Flags park that gets on my nerves, it's the operators singing, saying jokes, rotating positions, etc. over the microphone. And I can't stand the station music they they play, unless it goes with the theme of the ride, such as Riddler's Revenge.
  16. I like it a lot more, especially since the green, red, and blue is brighter. I don't like the yellow outline though, too hard on the eyes.
  17. ^^There's an In-N-Out right off Mission College Blvd. in the Mercado center, which is right down the street. Right now, since it's obvious how difficult it is to bring in a new coaster, the park at least needs a NEW ride. Not a hand-me-down like the downtime plagued FireFall (although a used, working ride would be fine), or a downtime plagued prototype, such as Survivor. I think a Windseeker would be a great idea, even though SFDK is getting a SkyScreamer because CGA is fortunate enough to have a much higher heigh limit at 224ft, as opposed to SFDK's 150ft.
  18. Tatsu for 3 1/2 hours its opening season in 2006.
  19. FYI,IDK WTF most of this says, but if SFMM opens GL ASAP, then the GP will definitely be "OMG," or even "OMFG," and totally forget about X2. The wait could be longer if the ops go AWOL, or put up a BRB sign. BTW, IIRC, if everyone brings their BFF, then the lines could be huge, and you might need some TLC. You could also check out SFMM's FAQ page, or IMHO, just ask yourself WWJD? I just hope SFMM changes their policy to BYOB next season so I could get FUBAR.....as long as I don't get a DUI. But then again, DILLIGAS? Maybe I'm J/K though. Not to be rude, but what does AWOL, IIRIC, TLC, IMHO, BYOB, FUBAR, DILLGAS, and J/K mean? Thanks for your input though. WOW. Just WOW.
  20. Just saw this on KTVU news. Gavin Newsom, the San Francisco Mayor was being interviewed, and one of the things he said was that they are trying to come up with a new lease that would keep the 49ers in Candlestick park for at least 5 more years, which would be 2015/2016. I wonder, if passed, what that would mean for the park.
  21. I am in no way bashing SFMM or SF. Overall, I always leave the park enjoying my day. But every single visit I've had, there is some idiotic operator, or extremely slow crew that kind of takes away from overall day. I've also been to SFDK more than I have SFMM, and I never had any issues at their park that I have encountered at SFMM.
  22. ^X2 has been a HUGE improvement in loading and unloading since the transformation. Their crew is very good, and the majority of the time dispatches the train before the other train hits the brakes. I just went a couple of weeks ago and the best crew, and the most efficient crew was at Terminator, and Goliath at a close second. Both crews were amazing. Tatsu was a huge improvement over the last time I went, although, it's not very professional and also extremely annoying, for a manager to sing and make stupid noises over the speakers. But then again, I've heard this at almost every ride at SFMM. The absolute worst crew was Ninja. Running 2 trains, it felt like they were only running one train and taking 5 minutes to load it. Absolute joke. We rode all open coasters except Revolution and Batman. Revolution is obvious why it's not popular, and the line for Batman was too long, and it's just not that fun of a ride.
  23. Knott's has Johnny Rockets. But back to SF, in regards to SFMM, I'm really glad this is happening. Having 3 Johnny Rockets is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I love Johnny Rockets, but it tastes so much better when I'm not paying double at the park. Papa John's just sucks in general. I hope they keep Panda Express because I never really trust a park version of teriyaki bowls; I feel better of a chain restaurant, although more expensive. Cold Stone, Wiggles, and Thomas Town I could care less about. Terminator, good riddance. I never liked the Terminator franchise, so I would have hated the theme on any type of coaster. I do, however, like the whole apocalyptic theme in general, so I hope they keep that.
